Swimming Date!

Lycia didn't know how to swim. How could she, given she was from a desert city where the water only persisted in deep underground aquifers nearby.

But being able to just step into a huge (huge to her anyway) body of water and just... be in it, was an amazing idea. You might just call it yet another adventure-she sure looked at it that way.

Actually changing into the colorful and frilly two-piece swimsuit and finding her way out of the locker room had been a little tough but she wasn't nervous. Well, maybe a little, but she was more excited than anything. Her nose was filled with the clinging odor of dampness mixing with some kind of chemical she didn't really recognize as she turned towards Zeke's voice.

She was smiling wide as she offered one of her hands for him to lead her. A small brightly colored wristband hanging there to indicate to the lifeguards that she was not a swimmer. "I will guess you look beautiful too," she giggled as she waited for his soul to finish moving closer to her. "We will be like the fishes but with legs."

Lycia laughed at the image of fish with legs. Then her mind wandered to thinking about trying to feel what it was like to be a fish with legs.

But as her mind drifted she followed Zeke. Only seeing the various glowing strands of the other people around. The ones further away in the water or up in the lifeguard chairs mostly, those she didnt technically know that.

Him warning her it might be cold didnt stop her but she did cling tighter to him as she slipped a foot forward. Making contact with the water and shivering. The pool wasnt actually that cold but... the first little bit until you get adjusted to it always felt cold. And she was very much out of her element.

"Floating sounds like a good thing but....," she trailed off as she pushed forward and pulled him with her into the water as she made her way down the steps. Plunging her lower body in despite the chills.

Soon she was up to her waist in the chlorinated water and running her free hand curiously through it before flinging a little bit at Zeke. Her other hand though was clung fast to his.

Lycia was adventurous, but she was clearly not moving in any deeper than her waist for the moment. As if any further and she would sink away into the depths, never to be seen again. No matter how much she played around in the water she was still clutching Zeke tightly. Either an arm around his waist or just his hand, but still always holding on.

The little flecks of water made her flinch but after a few times she learned to recognize the sound of Zeke running his hand through the water to splash at her and she giggled. Returning fire but cupping her free hand and dropping some water on him. Which landed somewhere on his arm rather than his head but... well it was close enough.

"Do you like to swim a lot? It feels funny to wear special underwears for going in the water," she giggled as she felt along her swimsuit top to see if it was still on right. She could feel it on her chest but without vision she was unsure if it had shifted any. It seemed ok.

"Zeke, do people really swim under the water sometimes?" It was a bewildering thought. She had trouble imagining what it felt like to be beneath the surface. But she was very much comforted by the safe, warm arms Zeke was holding her with.

Lycia smiled towards Zeke, having a little bit of an easier time locating his face ad she was in constant contact with his body and could follow the sound of his voice.

"It is more fun than sitting under the fans when it is hot, yes." Where she was from the days could get blistering hot so she was used to the heat. The cold? Well... there was a reason she'd originally been found passed out in a snowbank when she arrived on the island.

But that was behind her. Ahead of her... well really more to her side at the moment technically, was Zeke's helpful reassurance that her swimsuit was fine. "Maybe I should make you wear one like me next time," she giggled and poked towards him. Finding his belly more or less where she'd expected to.

The talk of diving deep underwater fascinated Lycia. Not so much to do in real life- these wasnt much point if she couldnt see, but for the Dream. "I wish I could see the fishes and the plants..." she sounded just a tiny bit melancholy but then it dropped as she changed her focus to slowly crouching down in the water to bring it up to about chest level. Not realizing she could have just walked forward down the slope into deeper waters.

Lycia shrugged a little, not necessarily convinced that Zeke wouldn't be pretty in a bikini but willing to accept that she might herself look better. But she also didn't care about appearances. "I do not want you to wear one if you are uncomfortable. But it might be fun to both wear pretty things together." She didn't think too hard on it. Zeke was fun and either way she was pretty sure he or she would be fun to be with.

She gladly nodded and let him lead her a little deeper into the water. His hand started to slip from around her waist to take her hand but she put it back around her. Relying on him to keep her safe as she explored. And honestly, enjoying the closeness.

"A jelly... fish. That sounds squishy," she giggled and poked at Zeke. Then there was almost a visible glint in her glazed over, blinded, eyes as she grinned and then slipped his arm loose enough that she could plunge down below the surface. Nearly sitting on the bottom and holding her breath for a moment before pushing back up. Spluttering and pulling in a new breath as soon as she could. Her long white hair messily trailing down all around her face.
