Chocolate! Charlie loved chocolate, almost as much as (ironically) honey. She even managed to give Eein a normal, happy smile, when her excitement over sweets took over. Though her excitement quickly toned down again, when she presented her muffins, and was replaced by nervousness and slight embarrassment.
Charlie looked at Eein with surprise, when his nose picked up where the berries in the muffins were from. She was impressed by his sense of smell, and Charlie nodded a bit.
"Y-yes, I kn-know a good sp-spot."
Charlie explained, but right after she said that a small panic rose in her. Was it weird to know good berry picking spots? Normal girls didn't go picking for berries just for muffins. What if Eein was weirded out?
Charlie was worried and anxious, but rather than be weirded out or drawn back Eein seemed...even more glad with the gift? Charlie stopped fidgeting with the hem of her blouse and nodded a bit as a response to Eein's gratitude.
"I-it was no-nothing. I en-enjoyed m-making them too."
Charlie said, and smiled slightly, now looking down from shyness rather than anxiousness.
Eein suggested they sit, and Charlie glanced over at the tables on the area and nodded a bit. She hadn't exactly planned what she'd do after giving Eein the muffins, and she had to prior engagements today, so she had time to sit with Eein.
Though when Eein said Charlie's muffins would taste better than his cake she shook her head while blushing.
"Oh no, th-those are my fi-first at-attempt at ba-baking, th-they're g-going to be av-average at most."
If Eein had baked even few times more than Charlie he was better than her, she had even broken an egg and put way too much milk in the batter. And...Angus had called the muffins below average. Although Charlie knew he was probably just putting off airs it still made her feel uncertain.
Charlie would follow Eein over to the tables, and sit down as he did. She opened the container, and a content smile rose on her face as she smelled the scent and saw the cake.
"It l-looks de-delicious, Eein."
Charlie said, her tone genuine. Charlie rummaged through her bag and pulled out a plastic fork, not something just anyone would normally be carrying, but Charlie didn't stop to explain before tasting a small piece of Eein's cake.
