Levina stepped into the simple office and took a seat as instructed. She really didn't have much of a choice at the moment. She had made a promise to Broen she would find another job that didn't lead back or involve Mathos, so she was.
"Of course. Several copies in fact."
Taking the notepad and pen she jots her cell number down on it before returning them. Levina mentally checked herself again making sure to maintain confident features.
"I assure you my skills are above average when it comes to being a personal assistant."
Levina was still extremely confident in her personal skills, but was just worried about the situation she could find herself in again. Personal assistants tend to spend a lot of time with their boss.

Lucretia tossed the notepad back onto her desk before leaning against it. " So I've heard.....from you....multiple times." If Levina was one thing it was consistent. Minus her current hiccup, the woman stuck to her confidence the best she could. It was entertaining, to say the least, some people found unwavering confidence to be a positive trait.

"I know a company that deals with operating other forms of business. I'll speak to my friends there and see if I can find a personal assistant position in the portfolio. It may not be as glamorous as what this Sandoval guy was giving but you won't be unemployed. I take it you have enough funds to hold you over." She was wholeheartedly assuming Levina was fine financially given how she praised her former employer's generosity,''

Levina sat up a little straighter when Lucretia mentioned speaking to several of her friends about a possible position. She wasn't sure if Lucretia would actually of helped her but it seemed she was going to.
"Oh wonderful. Thank you."
There was a tinge of excitement in her voice that was obvious compared to her normal stoic tone. Levina was lucking out it seemed.
Was she financially sound? Yes. Very much so honestly. Levina had set plenty aside and invested through several avenues during her time with Mathos. But it wasn't the money at the moment, she needed a distraction.
"Uh yea. Financially I'm fine. It's more of keeping myself occupied so I don't....so I don't go back."

"You sound like a woman who has been beaten on by their lover for years." Lucretia pushed off the desk and walked around it. Taking a seat in the leather chair behind it she would put both her feet up on the desk and stare at Levina...like really stare at her as if trying to invoke an emotion or gleam something from her demeanor.

" If this guy has been abusing you then you should let me know now. There are ways to deal with trashy individuals like that. The last thing the city needs is bad people in positions of power." The irony was not lost on her but it was too funny not to say. "At the very least we can have him sued."

Lucretia gave a half-smile as she continued to stare at Levina, never breaking eye contact. From what she was told last time and what she had inferred through conversation Levina had a deep love for her job and her employer. To have lost both must've been hitting her hard and Lucretia was living for the downpour of emotion that could potentially come from Levina now that she had neither.

Lucretia had hit the nail on the head. Levina just didn't want to admit it. So much of her life and who she was had been based around certain flaws, certain....lies....that she had been told. To admit them would undo everything she believed in and of herself. She wasn't read for that.
There was a long pause before Levina looked back up to Lucretia. Significantly longer than it should have been, even if all she was doing was trying to think of how to word something. Levina was thinking much deeper into it than that.
"No. That is not needed. Th-thank you though. He's not a....he's...he's fine."
Exhaling quickly again to collect herself she finally shook off her frustration.
"It's being taken care of already."
Levina's gaze followed Lucretia around the desk as she sat. The ex-personal assistant was obviously worked up and desperately trying to control her outward emotions.

"Mmm sure it is." Lucretia would put her feet back down. "Listen if there is going to be baggage coming with you between jobs you need to either get it sorted or drop it. I can't have you getting emotional when someone asks you to get them a coffee or take a few phone calls."

Lucretia's voice was stern and serious, she was never one for sugarcoating or coddling someone's feelings even when it came to her friends. So in this instance, Lucretia felt no guilt or shame in telling Levina to harden the fuck up. She sighed as an extended silence filled the room minus the muffled noise of outside.

"In the interim what are you planning to do?If you fall into alcoholism or depression while I'm doing then you'll have wasted my time." Lucretia leaned back ready to judge and pick apart Levina's response. This was going to be an investment on her part and bad investments were not something she liked to gamble on.

Levina sat up straight again, feeling like her chance might have been slipping away. Baggage following her. That was actually what she was trying to avoid. She wanted nothing to do with her past anymore.
"No. I promise that won't be an issue. I-I actually have a great support system now."
Broen. He had been her rock and hero through all of this. Just the slight hint at him bright a genuine smile to her face and caused all her features to brighten back up.
"Well I can't seemingly get drunk. Think it has to do with my supercharged body dunno. And like I said I have a really good support system helping me get back on track. "
Finally Levina sighed and dropped her gaze. She gave up the act before looking back up at Lucretia with a more weary but determined look to her.
"Look, I don't want to slip back into that. I want to escape from it. It is why I'm having trouble finding a job. I cut all contacts I had that even remotely linked back there. I didn't want someone to give me a favor he could exploit. It's also why I came to you. I knew he wouldn't be able to use you to get to me."

"....Fair Enough." Lucretia tapped her finger three times on the desk echoing in the room loudly. "If you need a distraction while I look I can see into getting you a maid service job here. Maybe cleaning up other people's messes will help you get over yours." Lucretia was poking fun but the offer stood. Keeping a closer eye on Levina would be to her benefit as well. At the very least she could some benefit until the real payoff came to fruition.

"I'm sure your support system will be happy you have a job to keep your mind off things until something better comes along. People love to see progress." She gave a devilish smile with her last sentence as she took the notepad from the desk and placed it back in one pf her locked drawers. She didn't think a day like this would happen today but she was happy it did. It would provide a past time for her while on the job beside her usual acquaintances.

Levina nodded appreciatively at the offer. It would help settle Broen's nerves, as well as her own, to know her time was being positively occupied and she was working herself back to normal.
"I really appreciate all of this. Anything you need me to do in the meantime I'll happily do."
Maybe happily wasn't the word for it. Being reduced to a maid from what she had been doing was insulting, but Levina needed to build it all back up again and prove her place.
"He will be very happy I'm taking sides in the right direction. I made him a promise and I'm sticking to my word like I always do."

"He? What are they your brother or something?" Lucretia couldn't recall Levina ever mentioning family but then again it never came up and she never dug for it. " It is good to have family in your corner when you are making a big move in life." While she spoke Lucretia would be making the motions of pulling out some employment paperwork. Each contains pieces of information one may find necessary to decide if a job at a casino was right for them. In reality, getting Levina a job here would be easy it was just a matter of her say so.

Ovidio wasn't going to fight her on something so minuscule seeing as he had bigger things to worry about. However, keeping up the appearance that she was going out of her way would hopefully keep Levina in a giving mood when it comes to demands made of her down the line. Guilt was a hell of a tool when it came to keeping people in line.
