Agnes wasn't sure what time it was. Keeping time had become useless after she lost the ability to sleep, truly sleep. Now she just had an alarm in her phone for when the first class of the night was about to start. But the sun was still up, so classes wouldn't start in a while. But that didn't tell much. And Agnes didn't have anything to do. So she had left her room and gone to the music room, or one that was open. The one at the very back with the best drums was thankfully free, and Agnes opened the door. She checked the timetable for this classroom from the whiteboard in the room, it wouldn't be used for anything but the morning classes today. And Agnes was pretty sure those were over already. So she went and sat by the drums, not starting to play just yet. Instead she just looked at the drums, imagined herself playing them. It helped her center her mind and concentrate on the now. Minute or two later Agnes took off her long gloves. Under them her skin was red and slightly burned, she hadn't stuck her hands in the sun for a few days so her burns were starting to heal. Agnes grabbed the drumsticks and started playing.

As always Agnes went into hyper focus after she started playing. She closed her eyes halfway so she only saw the drums, and she played whatever felt right. Sometimes Agnes' playing had rhythm, sometimes it didn't. But it was what Agnes wanted to play, what felt right for her. These days Agnes didn't feel anything, her mind was numb and lifeless. But when she played Agnes could swear she felt something, like an echo of an emotion from long time ago. Agnes never wanted to stop playing, because losing that echo of an emotion was so bittersweet she always felt like crying after the sticks stopped banging the drums. But now Agnes had all the time in the world, so she just played, her drumming occasionally aggressive and almost destructive, but mostly it was slower and patient, but somehow dark and sad. Like Agnes.

The half demon would appear, his guitar strapped to his back, as usual he looked fully human, his demonic features not currently showing. He'd tilt his head, looking at the vampire girl curiously as she played, she sounded good.

Lucan hadn't played with anyone in a while, but he now had the desire to. With a quiet hum he'd pull out his guitar, taking a seat he'd start to play along with her. He was good, masterfully good, a gift from one of his regalia partners, it had proven an enjoyable ability, one he was happy he had. He'd give his impromptu musical partner a playful grin once she looked at him, he was already enjoying himself.

Agnes listened to a lot of rock music, similar to what she herself preferred to play, so she didn't immediately realize the guitar she was hearing along her own drumming didn't belong. Agnes kept playing solid 10 seconds before she blinkedm her playing having a small hiccup, and lifted her eyes to see a guy about her age playing guitar near her. Agnes wasn't exactly a musical expert, but she could at least tell the guy was really good. He had a playful grin on his face, and Agnes did not answer it. She merely observed the guy for a moment, and then turned back to the drums and finished her set. Her burned hands ached but Agnes completely ignored it and hit the cymbal with strength as finish.

After her solo ended Agnes directed her eyes back to the guy who had played alongside her. It had sounded good, like an actual recording. Agnes had never played with anyone else, she had originally started the drums because she just wanted to hit something. That was before she had lost her emotions. Now she did it because it was good to have something to do with her hands.
Agnes didn't move from the stool she was sitting on as she raised a brow at the guy grinning like an idiot. She didn't say anything, rather waited for the guy to talk first.

Lucan would chuckle and set his guitar besides him, "hope you don't mind, I sometimes pop in here to play a bit." He'd look at her drums, "you're really good, it's been a while since I've played with anyone," he'd enjoyed it, a nice unexpected event.

"I'm Lucan," he'd say, flashing his usual friendly though slightly goofy grin, "don't think we've met before, I'd ask if you're new, but honestly this school is so big I'm always seeing students I don't know," it was definitely bigger than the orphanage he'd grown up in.

Agnes didn't mind. More like, she didn't care. Just like she didn't really care about the compliments the guy said at her. She couldn't say if they were accurate or not, Agnes had not really thought whether she was good or not.
"I have never played with anyone."
Agnes answered to the guy, with a neutral expression and tone. She set her drumsticks down for now.

This guy was a smiler, and seemed like a social person. Those ones were usually either entertaining or tiring. Agnes hoped this one, Lucan he said, wasn't the latter.
"Agnes. Been here since August, or longer if you count the islets. And I don't know you, I don't pay attention to people. And people don't pay attention to me."
Well, she was paying attention to him now. The sound they had made while playing together had been...surprisingly nice.

"That's a shame, it can be fun playing with others," his smile bevame more calm as they talked, "I had a few friends I used to play with before moving here." That wasn't all that long ago, but it felt like a world away.

"Ah, I've been here a while now," he'd kept a low profile, still did to an extent, "it's good good to meet you Agnes." He'd hum in thought a little, "I mean...I'm paying attention to you..that said, I'm am an odd goofball," he'd say with a small chuckle.

"You play here often?" he'd ask, laying his guitar in his lap, "I sometimes go on the roof, but bad wind up there today, and these rooms are nice, don't have to worry about waking a neighbor."

This guy...was really chatty. Agnes didn't feel like commenting on him telling about his life before the island, so she just listened while leaning on her legs.
"Never just got the chance. I didn't start playing drums because I like it or anything anyway."

Agnes nodded a bit at Lucan when he said it was good to meet her, and then proceeded to scoff a bit when he called himself a goofball. At least he was aware of it.
"Yeah, I noticed. A non-goofball wouldn't randomly start playing along to an unknown chick playing drums."

Agnes shrugged, and started spinning a drumstick in her fingers when her hand started feeling fidgety.
"I get complaints from playing in my room, it's kind of a pain. So I play here. Drums aren't exactly portable, so..."

"I...don't know why I started playing really," he'd picked it up from an old man while living on the streets, "guess it kept my busy, helped me focus sometimes."

He'd chuckle a bit, "I can be a little spontaneous at times, makes things interesting," plus he was rather energetic and playful. "You have to admit though, our music sounded good together."

"I could always teleport them for you if you'd like," he'd tilt his head, "takes just a second for me, so yeah, you can always ask me." He didn't mind and he generally liked helping people.

Huh, this guy similarly hadn't started playing because he actually wanted to play music. Agnes had started playing drums because she wanted to hit something, and soothe the fidgety feeling she was feeling almost constantly. Now it was mostly for killing time as well.

Agnes admitted it by slowly nodding at Lucan's statement.
"It sounded good, I can admit that much."
Though when Lucan suddenly offered to...teleport her drums, Agnes raised a brow at the guy and leaned back.
"You weren't kidding when you said you're spontaneous. You normally don't teleport anything for a vampire you just met. I could lure you into my den and drain you of blood for all you know."

"And that would be an interesting way to go," he'd say, enjoying their odd banter. "I don't mind giving a bit of blood actually," he'd say with a shrug, he'd never been fed on but he wasn't against it, "not sure if my blood would taste any good though."

The half demon would chuckle, "besides, you seem friendly, having a nice chat with me," he got along well with most people, she seemed almost grumpy but he couldn't care less. "Despite being so cheery I don't talk to that many people honestly," he slept around and had a girlfriend and a best friend, but he actually didn't put himself in the public eye when he didn't have to.
