Private Finished Surprises and Suspicions

Michi had been busy with her personal magic training when the knock had resounded from her door. Her focus had been fully on a rune she had been working to recreate from her book so if anyone had walked in unnannounced, they'd have arrived to her hunched over her desk, a couple of books, papers and and magic tools cluttered in front of her. She jumped slightly from the noise, jolted out of her thought bubble and it actually took a moment to set in that it was in fact a knock on the door she had heard. "Just a moment!" she called out. She got up and ran to the door but as her her hand reached to the knob, she paused. Her eyes turned to her finger tips, now darkened for unknown reasons. They had grown dark since she started practicing and while at first it concerned her, she realized she didn't feel any sort of discomfort. Perhaps she might have just been training too much? The thought aside, she hurriedly ran back to her table, grabbing a pair of cloth gloves that had been sitting there before running back. Behind the door was none other than her now boyfriend, Rowan. Remembering it brought a slight blush to her cheeks but she chose not to pay mind to it. "Oh, hey Rowan, she greeted him with a smile, gingerly accepting the rose first. The quick gesture had her still for a moment, raising her gloved hand to her cheek in thought before smiling softly. "Of course I don't mind, come on in," she said, stepping aside to let him in. "I wasn't expecting anyone so my room's more of a mess than usual. Sorry about that"

Michi let out an awkward laugh at his response saying 'it wasn't that bad'. Well, for Michi it was bad -- her desk was probably the only part of her room that had some sense of organization. After all, she wouldn't want to lose her rune tools under all those books and papers. "I mean I do go out," she said with a slight pout. Not technically lie, but the last time she had gone out aside from class hours was to visit her corner garden. Although she didn't really take too long plus that had been a couple of days ago. Speaking of which, she needed to check the sprinklers if they were functioning still. "Well, okay, I guess aside from classes, I haven't been out much," she laughed a bit. Rowan took her hands into his and for a moment Michi jumped, feeling suddenly a bit conscious because she was wearing gloves. She hadn't told anyone about... the blackening. Or whatever. "Uh, research accessories?" she played off, "Don't wanna smudge the runes with my hands, right? B-besides they're kinda cool, what with me using sorcery stuff now," she added wiggling her finger tips a bit. They didn't hurt or anything but she knew they'd probably grow concerned if they saw what was under those gloves.

Michi took a moment when Rowan said about the air getting cold, and it's only dawned on her that it'll be winter soon. "Ah.. It's gonna be winter soon. Time sure flies huh," she said smiling wistfully. A moment passed when she realized that would make a perfect excuse next time she's out with gloves. She sighed inwardly, turning her gaze towards her hands -- well, her and Rowan's which were holding her own. "Well you know me. I'm thinking of starting to collect more gloves so I can match it with all my clothes," she said with a slight chuckle. Out of impluse, Michi entwined their fingers, palms up against each other and holding them in place. She could feel his warmth through the fabric. She smiled a bit, thinking that so far, things were going well between them. It didn't shake off any of her fears, but for the moment it didn't seem to matter. Before she sank further into her thoughts, the kiss pulled her back into reality. She perks up at the mention of her 'research', excited about finally being confident enough to share details of it "About that!" she chirped, leading Rowan to sit at her bed while she took some notes off her desk then sitting next to him. "I started researching about magic from external sources so we could reverse the effects of the ritual. You see, my mentor-- well, she's kind of in a similar situation as us, but she ended up with her soul completely burned away and she said since we didn't, we might have a chance for it. "I've been trying to figure out if I can create a spell for it but I was also looking in to options where we don't have to reverse the whole thing, but possibly recover stuff that we lost." A pause, her gaze turning towards Rowan for a moment, looking really proud of her progress. "And if I succeed with creating a spell, you'll be able to feel physical sensations again!"
