Dinner with his guardian had become a common thing, something he enjoyed. So when not with his friends or girlfriends he'd make time to have dinner with him. They'd been eating and chatting, enjoying their evening meal.

Then she appeared, he'd jump a bit in surprise, blinking a bit, "huh, so that's what that's like," he'd say with a small chuckle. "Usually I'm the one teleporting in," he'd flash a smile at his regalia partner, "it's good to see you."

He'd glance at his guardian, surprised at how not surprised he was. "Well you're awfully calm," he'd motion his friend over, "looks like we have a surprise guest."

Ryteri stood still like a deer in headlights, glancing back and forth between Lucan and his father.

Until she saw the frilly pink "kiss the cook" apron smudged with tomato sauce and basil that Corinth was wearing. Her shoulders shook in a way that could have been fear if it weren't for the obvious smile on her face. Corinth, on his part, seemed very unphased by the sudden appearance of the small girl.

"You don't look familiar, so I suppose you must be new." Corinth held out his hand to Ryteri, who promptly stopped her silent giggling to stand at attention - and staring at the outstretched hand as though she didn't know what to do with it. "Any friend of Lucan's is welcome in my home at any time, there's no need to be so tense." He gently pushed a bewildered Ryteri into the chair opposite Lucan's, returning a moment later to put a plate out in front of her. "Lucan I don't believe you've mentioned this friend of yours before. Is she your classmate perhaps?"

He'd give Ryteri a calming smile, "this Ryteri, she's my regalia partner, and a good friend." She was cute and shy, so he tried to hold back his energy and let her adjust, he didn't want to overwhelm. "It's good to see you," he'd tell her standing and getting her plate of food.

Lucan would give Corinth a grateful smile as he returned to his seat, it was nice of him to welcome her, make her comfortable. "How are you Ryteri?" he'd ask, taking a sip of his drink, he'd wanted to hug her, be the energetic half demon he usually was, but he controlled himself.

His tail would appear and gently tap on the keg of his chair, he'd been letting that demonic feature show a bit more lately as he'd found it useful. "Oh, are you liking the island? I know you just come in visits but I hope your liking everything while here."

Ryteri looked both anxious and excited, almost vibrating in her seat. She looked up and caught Lucan's eye, transmitting thoughts to his head. "I could smell this through your thoughts. Your dad is a great cook. I know I don't need to eat but it smelled so goooooood." She grinned at him as she took a bite of her lasagna, making it very clear she enjoyed it. Even without the telepathy, Corinth seemed to be able to tell that Ryteri was enjoying herself, keeping quiet so as to avoid interrupting her.

"I like the island fine, but it's just a little.. too crowded. I can't even ask for directions if I get lost so I'm happy just seeing it through your thoughts."

"Yeah he's a really good cook," he'd take a bite of his food, enjoying it as well. "You'll have to join us more often for dinner."

"I'll show you around some," he'd say with a chuckle, "teleportation, so we'll be able to skip the crowds and still enjoy the city." It was handy power and so he'd use it to enhance her time here if she'd allow it, plus he liked spending time with her.

Then he'd switch to sending her his thoughts, "I like hearing your voice in my head, it's really sweet sounding." He'd take a bite of his food, smiling calmly as they carried out their telepathic conversation. "It's also really nice talking like this, it let's me talk easier, be less of a goofball....at least to an extent," he'd chuckle a bit.

Ryteri quickly turned to look at Corinth, simultaneously wary and eager to hear his input. He chuckled and waved his hand to dismiss her fears. "I told you didn't I? You're welcome any time." Ryteri practically bounced in her seat, attention switching back to Lucan.

"
I dunno. I don't really like people. Or teleporting. it makes me feel like I left my organs behind."

Ryteri coughed, caught off guard by the sudden change in mood. "Lucan your father is right next to you. Please don't make this awkward." She tried to focus on the food rather than on Lucan, her cheeks slightly pink. If Corinth noticed, he said nothing about it, continuing on the conversation as if nothing happened.

"
You should bring Ryteri by the shop after school tomorrow Lucan. It won't be too busy, so we could find her something nice."

He'd mentally chuckle a little, taking another bite of his food. "Oh yes the shop, that's a good idea," he'd smile, his tail swaying a little. "It's a clothes shop," he'd tell Ryteri, "you'll like it, nice clothes, I could take you somewhere nice to eat after after maybe, a place that isn't super busy."

"Actually.....I could cook you something tomorrow night," he'd offer, thinking she'd be more comfortable here, "can't promise it'll be as good, but I'd happily cook for you." He was a decent cook, had been practicing more as of late.

Ryteri looked up at Corinth's suggestion, immediately turning back to her food when he caught her eyes. She was looking even more embarrassed than before, picking at her lasagna. Corinth raised an eyebrow at Lucan at the peculiar reaction, subtly motioning for him to stay.

"I have some work to do upstairs in my office, Lucan, I'm sure I can trust you and your friend alone for a few hours. Just call if you need me."

Corinth stood with little noise, sweeping his plate off the table. He gave Lucan a wink over Ryteri's shoulder as he left.

"Did I... make him uncomfortable?"

Teri watched Lucan intensely, wishing to her core that she hadn't made a mistake.

"No, no," he'd say, "you didn't make anyone uncomfortable." He'd give her a reassuring smile, "like he said, he had work to do and didn't want to interrupt us hanging out."

His tail sways a bit beside him as he talked, "you've actually been a really kind guest, he liked having you here." Lucan would eat a bit more of his food, "he's always happy when he gets to meet my friends."

Taking a sip of his drink he'd flash a grin. "Would you like some more? Or something to drink?" he'd chickle, "it's odd, not all that long ago I was just an idiot kid running around London....now I'm an idiot kid having dinner with a friend."
