Huh. Well she wasn’t expecting that.

Despite her feigned nonchalance, the assurance that the incident hadn’t phased her wasn’t enough. At first, she was heavily confused by his regrets, as well as his general reaction. But moments later did Loralei begin to understand. And all of his words made the God he put himself out to be seem much more like the young-looking man she had fallen in love with.

With that in mind though, his logic behind his sudden regret was sound.

Loralei allowed the pair of them to continue further. The genie was oblivious to the rain-filled clouds as grey as her skin. Even when the drizzle made its presence, Loralei did not think much of it. She just kept looking at her husband, her bright cyan eyes clearly focused and attentive. And yet… She was thinking. About.. Pretty much everything possible at this point. His wisdom stretched far beyond her years, evident even now as she was deciphering his cryptic speech. It made sense though. And was a sentiment she shared.

"Carl..." She started, before taking a moment to breathe. "It’s… Okay. I’m glad you showed me. I guess I wasn’t prepared for this but I know now. You’re not a fool. You’re… Braver than I knew." After all, she figured it must have taken him pretty big balls to show his wife that. He wasn’t ashamed of it, but perhaps he thought her opinion of him would change. Only worrying about that because well… She was the only person he ever worried about, second to himself. "Just remember though. We’re married now. That means we’re dedicated to understanding each other. That’s our job. We can’t change each other like that. You’re right. Time can only tell. And time… Time is what we have. We’re each other’s eternities, remember?"

Of course he did. A man like him hardly forgot. It’s what brought them here, after all. And with the story he told her, of the man that was no longer… Her point was asserted further. She was silent for a bit, before squeezing his hand. She smiled to him, before kissing his cheek.

"Well, that settles that. Let’s just be us. As we are. Because… Well, as much as we’d like to insist we are, we’re not entirely perfect. But that's okay. I wouldn’t want you any other way." With that, she raised a hand. Whisking it before an umbrella appeared above their heads, in a small cloud of smoke. It was clear, so they could see the sun that barely peaked out of the clouds above. "Worrying doesn’t become either of us. Neither does stress, and sweating over the past. It’s the future we should be looking forward to. Because that’s the thing we’ll make up together. Just you and me and..." A hand of hers was gently placed on her stomach. She looked down, smiling softly. "Whoever we put into this world." With a small spell of silence after she gently nudged him. Her eased smile pulling itself into a sly smirk.

"Now c’mon. I’m already putting bets on how long before we get kicked out of the restaurant. I’d pay to see that guy flip his shit live."

Had she chosen to be audible, her sigh of relief would probably be heard all away down the block. Her husband looked to totally be back to his old self. Hot headed, daring, and certainly the trouble maker. Just the way she loved him. And now, it sounded like the dismal events of the past hour had all faded, to give way for what she was excited for- Making sure this town wouldn’t forget the unusual duo.

"Carl, you had me at having a little fun..." She chuckled, a devious tone beginning to slip in her voice. Legal? Sure, they could limit themselves with that. Publically decent? Pfft… That would have to be thrown right out the window if they were gonna make this night memorable. "Sure, we shouldn’t instigate him directly… But if someone starts something we sure as hell are gonna finish it… Without heads rolling, of course." That much was so. She didn’t want violence. Honestly, she wanted to have harmless fun that would cost nothing but perhaps a temporary spike in blood pressure of the unfortunate witness. But hey, whether or not either of them would keep cool in this scenario would remain to be seen. It would be who would snap first that would become the loser. "But otherwise? This date sounds perfect. I had a little number I’ve been itchin’ to bring out for you. Try not to tear it off too quick, hm?" With a grin and a bit of a chuckle she headed back arm-in-arm with her spouse. The plan was set, and it was time to get it rolling.

—————————-

A hand reached into a purse to pull out a phone. Clicking it on for just a second to check the time. Almost Nine. Loralei looked up, knowing that he would be here soon. They had split for a bit to get certain preparations ready. It gave her time to get herself dressed (well, even if that took but a handful of seconds and a cloud of smoke) and get herself down to the subject of their game. And with one look over to her, it was nearly impossible to tell if she was going to the club or a fancy dinner… With the owner of the playboy mansion. Nevertheless, wearing something like this had herself playing the role she wished. But that was just phase one. Phase two was to come soon enough, with the arrival of Carl. Any moment now, and the host of the restaurant that had been eyeing her for a few moments in both confusion and discreet arousal had to let them in. And the rest would just fall into place.

The time was approaching, and with a quick glance to her phone the genie knew she only had seconds to spare. With a smirk she looked up… Only to have that turn into a wide smile. A wide, devious smile.

"Well look at you....." Loralei nearly purred out, placing a hand on her hip as she watched him reach out for the discreet attention he was getting. He really looked like he was enjoying every little second of it. And he should. After all it was their vacation. And they were going to do that the Bateman/Endoleon way. Which was perfect, in her eyes. If the fun was harmless, she was going to do it up. The very worst she hoped was a ban for life, but hell, she wouldn’t cry herself to sleep over that. She approached him for just a moment to place her hands on his hips to kiss him on his lips. Brief, but meaningful. Back to the task on hand though. She was happy to see that he looked as sharp as her. "I could say the same thing… But I’d rather have our actions do the talking. Shall we?" She gestured with her eyes towards the door. Where it seemed dozens of other sets of eyes would follow their gaze. Good. A dinner and a show, as she told herself mentally.

She followed both her husband and the host to where they would seat. Out of the way, well dressed, but still not too far hidden. Plans aside, she was happy at the very least to be back on track with Carl. The way she had fallen for him. By going along with his devious mind. Lori watched in contemplation as he pulled out a seat for her, while he sat in his own. But her own seat wasn’t what she wanted. No, the gesturing towards his lap had fully lured her in, to which she took the bait. Gladly.

"Now why would I do that? This one is already warm..." She chuckled as she pulled herself into his lap, sitting lightly with her legs folded. She picked up the menu and began to look at it. Plotting all the while. As she read upon the menu for the fine wines she caught the smallest hint of one of the waiters, probably theirs, glaring at them in discontent. Looks like they had a winner already. "Hey, check that guy out." She nudged Carl with her elbow, smiling softly. "I wonder who pissed in his Cheerios." Just as she whispered that, the man in question approached them. Clicking his pen in near disgust, his brow furrowed. Though, he would try to be civil. Somewhat.

“Ahh-hem...” Their waiter falsely cleared his throat, looking at them with a raised brow. But he would pull on a fake smile. He still valued his job, after all. “May I start this… Lovely couple off with anything?”

For farce or not, Loralei already was having a great time. Relishing in her husband’s attention, the sly smile on her face grew as she felt his hands travel to her narrow hips. Her lip bit, she looked at him with an expression in her eyes that screamed nothing but ‘bedroom’. Except that was brought here. And she had no shame.

"Hmhm, you know me so well… You do know how much I love my meat..." As she was pressed against the table, her hand discreetly traced up his leg from his knee, to his behind where she softly grazed. From under the table, her leg wrapped around his as her arms lifted to carefully drape over his shoulders. That devious look in her eyes never leaving, even as he spoke to the waiter. She chuckled at his comment about his meal, to which she could testify for. "Ain’t that the truth..." She uttered, before speaking back up for the rest of her order. "I’ll second that wine… Something strong.. rich… and with a smooth finish.." Loralei whispered aloud, chuckling warmly at the end as she cupped his cheek in her hand, pulling his face into hers delicately to kiss his lips… Much to the distaste of those nearby.

In fact, the area surrounding them was not found of the funny looking couple with what appeared to be no sense of decorum. Noses were raised, withering scowls were cast, and spiteful whispers came from the upper crust of the town. Sure, Loralei certainly knew how to behave. The thing was, she wasn’t here to have a normal, run-of-the-mill honeymoon. She was married to Carl for a reason. Right before the waiter left, she did her best to hold back a snicker as she muttered just loud enough "Hmhm… Oh love, be careful… Unless you wanted my dress to ride up..."

As soon as she heard the slam of the door back into the kitchen, she let out that snicker as she looked back up to him, kissing his forehead as she sat up a bit. "We’re only getting started… Let’s say we step it up a bit when he comes back, hm?"

Feeling his kiss on her cheek and the compliance to her request made that sly grin spread even further across her cheeks. It was funny, in a sense, that even though she was vying for the eyes of onlookers she could only focus on Carl. Wrapped in her own little world despite the fact that she was projecting it to everyone else in the restaurant. Nothing could come between them it seemed.

Well, except for the manager.

Loralei looked up to the rather pissed off man, pulling of a blank face that thinly veiled the fact that she was getting one hell of a kick out of this. She kept herself clung to her love while they were being chewed out. Not moving an inch from her spot as he did. Feeling his hand slip over her chest, to which she cracked a smile accompanied by a giggle underneath her forced calm facade. Which soon turned to fake innocence as if she didn’t know what was going on, and that her shenanigans were completely appropriate given their scenario.

"A strip club? But sir, I’m fully clothed..." She turned her head to kiss her husband’s cheek. "Well, for the time being, anyway..." She giggled again, looking up at the manager with just as much of a coy expression as before. Now coming with a blush as she felt a hand crawl up her thigh. Still, she kept up the act, even going so far as to run her fingers along the buttons of his suit. Laying kisses on his neck as he would sing her praises, all in the elaborate game they were playing. Only withdrawing to feign surprise when the manager requested that they ceased their public displays of affection. "Oh, but why?" She asked, only to be answered moments later with just as sweet and yet sly sentiment. "Hmhm… Makes sense then. Perhaps he’s just ruffled that he lacks the charm and charisma of the man I’m sitting upon… What a pity."

And with that, things were really heating up. With the manager turning red with rage at the funny looking couple twisted like a pretzel in the middle of his restaurant, it appeared that they wouldn’t have long until someone physically threw them out. Still, they could live it up while they could. The baton was soon passed to her, to which she would to spice things up.

A discreet nod came from her as she grabbed him by the collar, light enough not to hurt him but with enough force to be able to guide him where she pleased. She turned to look at the manager for a brief moment. Long enough to ask a seemingly innocent question.

"Oh, so is this too much?"

With that she pulled her husband down with her to crash against the table. Knocking over everything that was in their path as she wrapped herself around him- legs, arms and all. Her face pressed against him as she kissed without a care in the world. Despite the gasps and a woman fainting a few tables away at their audacity, she barely made room for gasps of air. Even rolling a bit as She soon found herself on top, her arms pinning him down by his shoulders as her once perfected hair had fallen a bit over her face. She may have led things to escalate quickly, but she was vying for a reaction. Without taking her eyes off of her man, she addressed the head of the establishment.

"I say sir, is it just me or is it getting hot in here? You just might have to crank up the AC… Or else this little number I have on might not remain where it is… And my poor hubby might be meeting that same fate too… Oh well." She turned, unable to hide that grin that had built up over the course of the evening. "Guess we’ll just have to make due, hm?"

Loralei didn’t very much react to the sudden screech. Other than a flick of her eyes towards his bright red face. Yep. They had hit the jackpot in terms of making this guy flip his lid. She loosened up, but not in the sense of being visible. Now she could sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

She leaned back as her husband pushed her gently away. Tilting her head as she watched the manager make a ruckus over their lewd behavior. As expected of course, but also sort of ironic. Now who was making a scene in the middle of a high-end restaurant, hm? Regardless, all Loralei could do was chuckle.

"Temper mister… This surely can’t be good for your blood pressure.” She feigned concern over his explosive rage. Sure, she didn’t want the guy to hurt himself, but loosening up was definitely something he could afford to do. By the sound of it though he put his trust in getting rid of the obscene in something a bit more official. And that, certainly, was their cue to leave.

Because if the cops showed up, the manager wouldn’t end up being the only thing that would explode.

That she could count on. So, after Carl so lovingly hoisted her up by her hips, she just kept herself clung to him, perhaps as a mode of intimidation following the departure of the english version of the Hulk. Smirking as if she were a bit too satisfied with the results of the evening.

"Bye now…~" Loralei almost purred out to the filing out of guests, her hand raising somewhat to do a bit of a princess-type wave. As soon as the last person stumbled out of the establishment, the genie grinned up at her husband, beginning to laugh a small bit.
"Well that was just too rich. Did you see his face? Fuckin’ priceless."

With that Loralei loyally held herself close to her husband as she left in his cradle. Kissing him back just as he did with an expression that was ecstasy intertwined with devilishness. "Hmhm… I was wondering when you were gonna bring that up." She chuckled. "After all it’s feels like an eternity since I’ve used my magic… Guess I’m doomed to show you some after we settle back into the bedroom, huh?"

Jokes aside, Loralei was rather happy with how the evening turned out. As they neared the hotel, Loralei could only think of how the whole day had turned from emotional to a true celebration of their marriage. In the best fashion the strange couple could muster. "...Thanks, Carl. For everything." She smiled sweetly, almost a rarity for her as is. "I’m glad we’ve gotten some stuff off of our chests. So much so that we could do this sort of stuff together. After all, I wouldn’t have anyone else as my partner in crime." She leaned up to kiss his cheek, before settling back down once again with that shit-eating smirk he wore often. "Now c’mon. There’s a bed that needs a’wreckin."

The excitement that had Loralei’s adrenaline off the charts slowly began to ease a bit, still present for what was ahead but calm enough for her to pursue something more genuine with Carl. Regardless, it seemed the smile on her face would never die or disappear. She was truly happy with him. More than she had been with anyone else prior in her life.

Once there were back to their room, Loralei took to it to gently lay herself on the bed following her husband’s release of her. Just as he began to undo his shirt, she too reached to the hem of her skintight dress to hoist it off and over her boy. Looking right up at him in nothing but the rather dress looking undergarments she wore for him.

"I’m not complaining." She teased back with a chuckle, before holding her hands out for him to pull himself either next to or over her. While she had been more lighthearted as of late, he did bring up a few points that got her thinking. Like always, every one of them seemed to be absolutely correct.

"Well… I’d like to think that maybe… We’ll be accepted for who we are. I mean, I couldn’t care less either… So long as they’re not coming up to our door with pitchforks and torches." She shrugged. "But people change. Humans change. It might not be all at once, but it’s not like we don’t have all the time in the world to see how things play out. Besides, that’s their world. We have our own little one right here. So long as we have us… I think we can make it until whenever doomsday comes. Anyone who tries to stop that from happening..." A smirk touched her face. "I’ll introduce them to you."

Joking aside, what he said next caused her smirk to slowly fade. She wasn’t sure if he was being serious, for he knew her history with them ever since she became who she was. But him bringing it up allowed her to contemplate another perspective to it all. "Well, I would say yes, had they not been dead to me..." Her tone almost became hostile towards the idea, but she bit her tongue to prevent anything of the sort from spilling out. "But… I mean… I kinda want some sort of closure. And at least see them before I.. Y’know, come to outlive everything I grew up with. Whether or not they care, I want them to know I’m doing okay. I like to believe that they just were acting in the heat of the moment. Hell, I would probably have done the same thing.” She sighed. ”But hey, I’m happy now. That’s what matters, I guess."

With that in mind, Loralei had a similar curiosity. With her gentle grip she carefully pulled him in, kissing him on the forehead when he was close. She let go then, in favor of raising her hand to pensively poke at one of his orbs. "Speaking of which, I’ve never really heard much of baby Carl. Before you became Mr. Grand Magus. You know how I’m a sucker for one of your stories." Loralei mentioned playfully, before her hands moved to trace up and down his bare back. "I mean… even I wasn’t always this awesome."

Just as Loralei had wrapped up, she turned her head to look up at him directly. As he was on top of her, she was able to catch a glimpse of his reaction to what she had said. So far... Nothing. But she hadn't expected much of it, for all she wanted was to think out loud. To have someone she trusted to listen to her ramblings. Carl, though leading a life much different than her, understood. Just as he smiled, so did she. It was his turn now.

She complied as he pulled her onto his lap. Her head rested against his shoulder as she would listen to his own story about his childhood unfold. She would listen to each of his words carefully and precisely. And at the mention that it wouldn't be interesting?

Pfft, she doubted that.

Instead, what he perceived as uninteresting unfolded to her in a fascinating manner. After knowing bits and pieces of his past, she was finally beginning to piece the puzzle together in just who she married. Granted... What she knew so far was pretty gruesome. But perhaps it wasn't all like that.

Right?

Well, the more she listened, the darker his tale got. A child prodigy turned serial killer. All in hopes to increase his potential of magic. And while she knew what he did.... Saw what he caused first hand... It was a bit of a shock to hear him admit it all. And although his actions were a bit hard to hear, he certainly wasn't the only one guilty in the scenario. She began to piece together justifications on why he did what he did. Of course, all of it extended from his hatred of humans. Susceptible to greed and corruption of power like always. The true question was whether or not he was any better than those he stole power from. And whether or not he destroyed an era or dismantled an oligarchy. It certainly got her thinking... And certainly shut her up.

She almost seemed to be staring into space as she lay her head against the pillow. Listening still attentively, but making sure she was comfortable as she pondered the meaning of it all. There were things she just couldn't fathom... This being one of them. As his tale wrapped up to a close, they both fell into silence. Carl finished, and Loralei just beginning on this whole ordeal. At least in the way she was attempting to unravel it.

A few moments of silence brought Loralei to finally speak up. "Damn. I'm pretty sure when I was six I was still trying to get kids to eat glue." She turned to look at him from his shoulder, blinking. "It all makes sense now at least. I mean... With your orbs... And why only recently people with magic started to surface again." Her own society of creatures were hidden because of how unaccepted magic was in her society. Maybe... Maybe he was the source of the cause as to why her family had left her upon finding out she changed. Maybe... God, she didn't want to think about that. That that was his intention. It was an outcome but... At least now, she was happy. At least, she thought she was happy. "You really did change the course of history before you even hit teen years. I mean... Damn, that's impressive."

Honestly, Loralei struggled to grasp the concept of how someone so young could take on a form of power. To become the ultimate being in a sense, only to begin to become just another student in an academy for gifted people. It was crazy... It really was. "Like I said... I like to imagine that things happen for a reason... And even to this day, especially after hearing all of this, I'm surprised you chose me out of all people to be your partner. And that eventually we may bring someone into this world and-" She stopped dead in the middle of her sentence. Their heir. If they had a child... "Carl, do you think that one day... You'll be replaced? By one that inherits your powers?"

At this point, Loralei was thoroughly blushing. A mix of emotions welled from her from being both flattered and somewhat embarrassed. She really didn’t know much about him, did she? Well… Not like that bothered her really anyway. But still. She just knew there were certain things to assume and others to consider when it came to him.

"I mean, I was a human. Nothin’ really special there." It was true. Up until a few years ago there wasn’t anything spectacular about her. The exact opposite could be said of her husband. "But, I’m flattered you think so.."

Just as that moment relaxed her a bit, she nearly jumped at Carl’s reaction to her other bit of paranoia just a few seconds later. Her face was greyer in portions where they would be red if she were still human. She blinked a few times, before tilting her head with a baffled smirk. "What’s so funny..?" A few moments later, he had explained it himself. Only for her to feel even more embarrassed at what truly was a serious question.

But, hey, if he was confident, then maybe he was right. Pride was his strong suit, but on numerous occasions it had failed him as he had the tendency to underestimate. Case in point, he ended up hitching the girl he initially thought as pathetic and not worth his time.

"I-" She cut herself off after attempting to interject. She wanted to allow him to explain himself anyway as he died down his laughter and became a bit more serious. His explanation... Made sense, for the most part. That he was the sole holder of the elements, and no one else could replace that. But there was one problem with that argument-

The council that used to dictate him and his parents probably thought the same thing about him.

But she shook it off. For now, anyway. The last thing she needed was to worry about the far, far future like that in this moment. She wanted to live in it. After all, this only got one honeymoon in their hopeful eternity together. "Hm... Well, I hope that'll be the case. Because God knows if they got my powers they'd have a full arsenal at their disposal the very second they enter in this world." She chuckled softly, knowing this was true. Her powers weren't as exclusive as Carl's. Afterall, there were dozens of genies, and one grand magus. At least, to her knowledge. Ultimately though, she couldn’t help but to chuckle softly in response to Carl. Laughing helped her to get over hypothetical worries like this. "I guess… That makes sense though. Besides, I know you’d nip that in the bud if any sort of world domination-esque behavior started to show. That’s your job, ain’t it?" She tried shaking it off. Putting a pin on the whole idea on the mental bulletin board of worries she had. Tucking them in the darkest recesses of her mind, to be taken care of when that bridge gets crossed. With that, her hand traced the back of Carl’s bare leg, softly grasping his bottom as she cocked another smirk.

"Hm.. Now. Less baby talkin’ and more babymakin’, hm?" It was just a joking expression, but…

Who said it wouldn’t hold some truth in the future?
