It wasn't fair! A part of her wanted to scream. But - unfair for who? Did Raenac choose this fate? She shuddered to imagine Raenac killing herself, but she couldn't rule it out, either.

Andrasta had been making so many plans to make that world a better place. She had accepted that she would never get to return to Manta Carlos. She had known that she would never get to feel Orsick's arm wrapped around her again, or to lean against him as she was doing now. She had known she would never see the people she loved here again, and it was a familiar thing to know. She thought she had been ready for those feelings again.

Instead of feeling sorry for herself, she'd focused on what she could do in that new world. What kind of life she could carve for herself, how she could gain and use the trust of those in power there. She'd had big plans for Raenac in particular, because Raenac was the one she liked, the only royal whose head wasn't totally up their arse. And she had no doubt she could enact them - she was literally a god, after all. She could make the most of it.

Now most of the people she'd met there were dead. Everything was ruined. She'd helped nothing. Some God she was. Andrasta didn't even get that silver lining she'd been clinging to. She didn't even get to imagine anymore, that Raenac would go on to rule and live happily-enough-ever-after.

Her life now felt unreal. It felt undeserved.

Orsick at least focused her on something other than her failures - finding out what had gone wrong. Almost a minute after he'd asked his question, Andrasta would answer. "I guess... Zephri Barathos and Sylvi the Valkyrie. After what Ycroma did, I shouted for one of them to go get her healed, so they both took her."
