Versailles sat in a far corner of the library, surrounded by no less than half a dozen books and a full ream of paper, most of it wuth notes on them, but quite a few were scattered around her waiting to be used, or becoming bookmarks for the books she didn't have open. The fox girl had been assigned an essay for the following week by one of her psychology classes and she was determined to get it done well before the due date. Versailles muttered and scrolled through the books to see how far through her intended work she'd gotten, and found herself well over halfway through, and it was well past closing time for the cafeteria. I need a break... maybe I'll order pizza.

Versailles packed up all the books she knew she was done with and returned them to their respective spaces on the shelves, filling out her order for pizza on her phone as she carried the heavy texts back and forth. Her workspace organized and neatly piled into the corner, she brought her personal effects with her to the lounge area of the library to wait for her pizza, curled up in one of the available chairs.

Quiet. That was something that Lina didn't get a lot of. Especially since the high school was always so crowded. With her siblings in the house, it seemed like her life was thrown into constant chaos and she didn't have time for that. It wasn't like she hated her siblings, she loved them very much but they didn't understand. She was trying to find something to help her, exercises that would make her less paranoid so she was in the psychology section of the library. She had a few books on anxiety disorder. but a lot of them were just the causes and treatments, she already knew the causes and treatments. She wanted something else.

The dragon collapsed onto a chair in the lounge area of the library and sighed. There was someone else there. Did she make contact or did she pretend that the girl didn't exist? Which door did she open?

Versailles drew her legs up and tucked them underneath her, idly doodling on the back of a notebook while she waited. She wasn't actually sure how long it took for a pizza to be delivered so she was reluctant to return to her secluded corner. The tip of her tail casually flicked about while an intricate hourglass joined the mess of objects decorating the blue paper cover.

Versailles ears twitched as she felt eyes watching her, one rotating sideways to a sound it caught but never registered. Looking up, the fox girl saw a younger student sitting nearby and watching. Perhaps the girl was shy? The ends of her mouth curved up in a slight, gentle smile as she turned back to her notebook.

"I don't bite you know. I might even be the least dangerous person in the school."

Xylina's eye's narrowed slightly as she looked at the fox like girl. Maybe she wasn't dangerous but she wasn't going to take an chances. Well actually she could just scene that the girl wasn't dangerous but that didn't stop Xylina's guards from being up.

"Okay, well I guess I can socialize then, if you aren't dangerous. Im XyLina, But people call me Lina" She said offering her small hand towards the fox like girl. After all that was how people greeted each other, her mother told her so. She righted herself, so she wasn't takning up most of the space on the couch because she didn't want to be rude.

Versailles leaned forward from the chair to shake Lina's hand. Her ears flicked to attention as if sensing a predator.
"It's nice to meet you Lina. My name is Versailles Amaranth, I'm a second year college student majoring in Forensics. I don't think I've seen you around the college campus much, so I would guess you're from the highschool? What's that place like?"

Versailles attempted to make small chat with the seemingly precautious girl, although she didn't seem very talkative. At least the pizza would probably be here soon.
Soon being about half an hour probably. Oh well. She could wait.

"I have a pizza coming soon, if you don't mind helping me keep an eye out for it. Delivery doesn't always know where to go."

Xylina tilted her head to the side, what was high-school like? She thought about it for a moment before she answered. If she was being honest, she had never really experienced what high school was like before now. Not to mention she had just moved to the island and everything was different than she was told.

"It's pretty cool, and hectic...the hallways get flooded with people when the bell rings" She explained to the fox girl because what else was she suppoosed to call her? Oh right she had called herself Vera something...so it would just be Vera from now on. Xylina had never been allowed to talk to non-dragons before. Even at school back home it was hard for her to make friends because she was never allowed to invite them over.

"....Pizza? Sure I can help you" Lina said nodding, her nose not picking up the scent of pizza. Her stomach would probably start grumbling before the pizza even got close enough for her to smell. She was sure her stomach had a sixth scene when it came to food. Then again she didn't know any dragon that didn't eat like three cows in one sitting.

Versailles nodded as she listened to the girl speak. Lina. Her name was Lina. There was an odd sense as if she was being told to run from this girl. Strange. Maybe she was magical in some way?

"Chaotic seems like a decent word for it then. Although I guess it would be without a dozen tutors, teachers or maids following you about. There wasn't a single girl in my school that wasn't being prepped for some kind of position that revolved around being eye candy. Honestly what some nobles do for their children..."

Versailles trailed off at that point, realizing that the girl probably wouldn't care. The school was probably far from where Lina was raised.

"Anyways. What year are you in?"

Xylina was pretty sure that being eye candy wasn't something her parents were prepaing her for. She did go to a private school, she did have people teaching her things that she couldn't have learned in school. However she was pretty sure her parents weren't that old fashion. Even if they were really old stuffy noble types, they were pretty good at letting their kids do what they want.

"I didn't exactly have that problem with my parents, they were pretty progressive as far as nobility goes. I heard some clans opressed their daughters." She said stated off handedly, not really realizing that the girl wouldn't nessecarily know what she meant by clan. It was easy to get homesick thinking about her family and other dragons. Then she remembered that she didn't really have a reason to get homesick. Her old home didn't even feel like home, and her new one...well at least she had her cave.

"Ninth, what about you...Obviously you aren't in high school..." Was she a weird adult that talked to kids...did she need an adult? Well a different adult. Lina was suddenly very worried that she had started talking to the type of person she was trying her best to avoid. It was doing absoultely nothing for her paranoia.

Versailles nodded. She could see a momentary flash of loneliness in Lina's eyes, but that quickly faded. So her parents had sent her off to learn here. Maybe she was from a scottish clan? That was the most probable answer but it could be a magical-race-thing.

"It isn’t even just clans or royal families. I didn't see the outside world until running away from the academy. No, I'm not in high school. I didn't exactly attend much. I refused to attend the last two years, so now I'm in college. Second year, as you didn't seem to hear earlier."

Versailles glanced at the clock on her phone. She probably could have gotten more studying done before the pizza arrived. Lina seemed a little lonely though. It would be rude to go back to reading.

"So what did you come to the library for?"
