Havoc wasn't late. He wasn't on time, either. No, Havoc was exactly ten minutes early, so exact you could have set a clock by him. He liked being punctual--a habit he'd picked up in the army--and it seemed appropriate that the student council president be early.

The student council didn't have a dedicated room. Instead, they shared meeting rooms with the faculty, the room being used as it was needed. It made sense to Havoc, and he had no complaints, but it did make him wonder if everyone was going to show up on time. Maybe someone was going to get lost.

Not that it was his concern, he thought, only moments before realizing that yes, it literally was his concern. He was supposed to be in charge, and it would reflect poorly on him if someone didn't show up. It was a bit unfair--he hadn't picked his own council after all--but that was life.

Havoc took a seat at the table--round, thankfully--and waited, his face as blank and expressionless as ever.

Ten minutes.
That was how long he had to finish his class, dash off to the Strip, grab a coffee, dash back up to the University... And to the Council Meeting.
It'd take waaay too long without superspeed powers. And he didn't have those.
So, here he was, a minute ahead of schedule, sipping on a school-cafetaria version of coffee. Which, if he was being honest... Wasn't too bad. The coffee shop's coffee down in the Strip was much better, though. Although his friend Lucy had said that coffee was an art akin to painting...
Ah, he was getting off track. Where was he? Oh yeah.
So here he was, running down the stairs, a minute ahead of schedule, and pens and pencils (and erasers and whiteout) at the ready, as well as a legal pad he could jot down notes on. By all means, he was good to go. And hell, he had just over a minute to spare!
Nix grinned to himself as he slowed his pace, approaching the Student Council room. No doubt Havoc would be early, too - that guy was on top of things. All the time. Even to the point of pretty much being a working clock. He chuckled. Yeah, definitely - his roommate was an awesome clock. Grabbing the handle, he turned it and flung the door open with a flourish. It swung open - and hit Nix right in the nose.
"Ah, SHIT." He muttered as his hand flew up to his nose. "Well, there goes my dramatic entrance. Uhh... Anyways."
The redhead spotted Havoc and waved. "Hey-o, Mr. President. Congrats on the position, by-the-by."

Normally A’laya was inclined to be fashionably late, but A’laya also knew how to read people—and it was pretty obvious that the new student council president was probably not going to be too tolerant of that.

So, alright Havoc, A’laya will play by your rules for now.

“Hello hello, beautiful people~” A’laya said as they came through the door, just on time. They were masculine in presentation that day…because, frankly, it took less time to get ready than it did to get ready on a feminine day.

And look! A'laya wasn't even the last person to get there. Score one for them! A'laya took a seat as they waited for the last person to come, checking out his nails.

See, there were a few factors to consider about Raphael when he goes about his day. Normally, he wasn't one to be late. He wasn't motivated to be early or anything -- not at all -- but he'd always been raised to be the one who arrived on schedules on the dot. But this was all on the assumption he had no prior engagements or he wasn't just generally distracted the few minutes before.

Embarrassing to say, he just got really distracted. (He wouldn't say specifically what but it was a game on his phone.) He arrived to the meeting room with a huff, just in time to step into the room as the clock finally hit three minutes past the time. He'd taken a moment to breathe, collecting himself after he literally ran his way to the meeting room.

"I'm here!" He was a little breathless as he made his way to an empty seat on the table, a nervous laugh following after him. He avoided direct eye contact with Havoc; he couldn't anticipate what the guy would say to him realizing he had been the last person to arrive. (Crap.) "Sorry, I' late--I was caught up with something earlier; I came here as fast as I could," which wasn't really a lie. He gave an apologetic smile to the group, and hope to god his lip didn't twitch. "I hope I didn't disrupt anything."

Nix grinned as he waved back at all the people that had just walked in. Emily - wasn't she the chick who'd helped him with poster hanging? That was pretty cool, that she'd gotten on the council. The other two, he didn't recognize outside of a glance at the speech stage. They looked interesting, though. "Heya, guys," he greeted with a smile.
Now. Where to sit?
Nix pondered the question still standing, tapping his pen on the legal pad he'd brought. He did know Havoc, and Emily... But there was obviously gonna be some frosty tension between the two. They'd probably give him the cold shoulder. Heh.
Then again, he only really knew Havoc and Emily... It was time to get out, meet the two other people here. One, a fishy-looking guy, looked absolutely fun to talk to. The other, huffing (probably from the fact that he'd just got into the meeting) also a guy, looked a little younger, maybe about 16. Also interesting. Both of 'em seemed real nice. Maybe they'd be able to deal with a few puns? Uhh, maybe... Wishful thinking. Anyway - to the task. Where to sit? Oh wait - he'd waited too long. There was only one or two seat available, and so he took one and leaned back, pen at the ready.

Having Nix on the council would make things much easier, as far as Havoc was concerned, and he waved him down with a small nod of his head. He was happy to see Nix--or at least as happy as Havoc got--but there was more or less no way for anyone to know that.

It was that very lack of expressiveness that was going to screw Havoc over. He really didn't feel anything at all about the fact that he'd won, let alone the fact that he'd stolen the position from Emily. It was a complete non-issue to him, and it simply didn't occur to him that Emily might be upset.

The only real surprise out of the appearances was A'laya, who Havoc... well, didn't get. Not right away. He squinted (although he was always squinting, so it was hard to tell), trying to figure out what was going on. He'd met A'laya, and A'laya was a girl, and... well, he wasn't entirely clear that the person he was looking at was the same person. The greeting did help, however slightly--familiar enough that it was clear he was supposed to know them--and Havoc settled down ever so slightly, resigning himself to asking Nix later.

Nix would know.

In a moment of unexpected social brilliance (at least on Havoc's own terms), Havoc recognized that berating Raphael for his late arrival would probably start things off on a bad foot.

"It's alright," Havoc said simply. "We hadn't started yet. Does everyone already know each other?" He knew everyone, but that didn't mean everyone else did.

With a cheerful smile, Nix tapped his pen on his paper again, and, glancing at Emily, nodded. "Nice to see ya again, Emily. S'good to have a bud on the council, eh? I can tell this year's gonna be great!" Well - he hoped. So long as hostility between Emily and Havoc remained low, it'd be awesome. And how cool would it be to be buddy-buddy with everyone?! Bam, right there - a new friend group! People he could talk to. Be real with.
But the meeting was only the beginning, he hoped. Oh, right.
"Anyways, uh. Hey, guys. Nix is the name," the redhead stated casually, "nice to meet you all." Setting down his coffee (which was already mostly empty - go figure,) his glance flitted across the room.
Let's put his mediator skills to the test.

Raphael was honestly expecting to get some snippy remark from Havoc of all people -- he always seemed like the guy who didn't let small things slide like being late but it was such a relief to be let off. His eyes scanned the room and found that at least half of the council were actually people he was already familiar with but there was that fact that the other two he knew were the ones fighting for the seat for president. Whew.

"Well, we've met, and also Miss Emily." His gaze turned away from Havoc, moving to the other rather unfamiliar faces. Well, the other guy didn't seem to unfamiliar; he'd remember a face like that when he spots him in a passing crowd. The other one...er... not so much. No offense though -- he isn't the best at remembering faces he passed by on the street. He smiled brightly at them, hands resting on the desk. "Raphael Niccolo; it's nice to meet you guys! I hope we all get along."

Emily was as cheerful as ever, which was to say not at all. Or at least Havoc assumed she wasn't. She seemed angry and annoyed anytime she was around him not in public, but changed at the drop of a hat when someone else showed up. It was so obvious that even Havoc couldn't possibly fail to notice, although he wasn't terribly bothered by it.

Everyone else introduced themselves, so Havoc quickly moved on to his main order of business.

"I intend to keep council meetings to a minimum to avoid things getting drowned in beaurocracy. Meetings once a month unless otherwise needed, an hour to an hour and a half maximum, everyone is already prepared, with clear ideas of what they want to discuss. Obviously we'll need to have more before any events we help with, such as the club festival. Any objections?"

Emily would probably have objections, he decided.
