It was Saturday — the very first weekend since his move here to the academy’s dorms. Gareth Wise hadn’t even needed to think on it twice and immediately knew the first thing on his agenda today had been to get out of that hell hole.

The fact that there were other ‘human looking’ creatures within the school didn’t really aid him in feeling comfortable or secure. He was paranoid and skeptical — and always on edge, it seemed. He felt like a target with a marker right over his head. He felt… well: human.

He wasn’t used to this supernatural bullshit.

Gareth took in a deep breath and, as always, had his hands shoved within the front pockets of his jeans as he strode down a sidewalk of downtown Manta Carlos. To be honest, he had no idea how “supernatural†the city was or wasn’t but he was hoping — God was he hoping! — that it wasn’t.

As he strode down the sidewalks early this Saturday morning, Gareth happened to come right up to the city’s local and probably largest park. The large sign at the entrance driveway read ‘Oceania Park’ and without much thought or care Gareth started down the sidewalk that lead deeper into the area where he assumed playgrounds, barbecue areas, and nature trails were aplenty.
