At first, when Dark Crystal Academy had been uncovered. Its inhabitants frozen and forgotten in time. Celeste had thought it was weird, but wonderful too. She was actually happy for everyone involved, though she understood how it would affect everyone... How could it not? It had honestly seemed like the fairytale, Little Briar Rose, had come to life and the sleeping, and forgotten, castle had been brought back to life.

However, when there was an unknown surge in magical energy - which had affected the family to varying degrees, and then the appearance of an unknown island, a ghost island off the coast, followed by a day without sun, Celeste began to have a very uneasy feeling, a growing sense of foreboding and that something was not right... a feeling that was always there, constant and just below the surface.

In fact, the witch was beginning, despite trying to play down what was happening and reassure her children that everything would be fine, to feel an overwhelming need to know where her family was at all times. Even Roldan and his daughter, Iesha, were not free from her desire to make sure nothing bad was happening to them. She had even started calling her father and niece every few hours to check on them and make sure everyone was okay and safe.

"Iesha? Did you want another blanket, something to eat or some more tea?" Celeste asked her as she went around the house and mother henned each of her children, trying to keep herself occupied so that her own fears were kept at bay.

Iesha was coiled close to a nearby heater and was already buried in blankets in an effort try to stay warm. She wasn't sure if it was the lack of sunlight, the magical surge, or both that was that was responsible for making her feel so cold but she was thankful that she had Celeste here to take care of her.

"A-another... blanket w-w-would be nice... a-and some t-tea too please." stuttered the lamia, raising their head up to look up to Celeste.

"Of course. I'll be just a few minutes," Celeste replied, all too happy to find Iesha another blanket - this time a heavier wool blanket and a nice cup of warm chamomile and orange blossom tea.

The chamomile was meant to calm the nerves and the orange blossom to help lift her spirits. Though Celeste was not sure the refreshing smell of oranges was enough to cut through the tension of all that was happening around them.

"Here you go, sweetheart," Celeste said as she sat down across from Iesha with her own blanket and tea.

"Th-th-thankss you Missss Celeste." thanked Iesha as she snuggles under the thick wool blanket and gingerly sips the warm tea. Iesha sits up as Celeste sits down with her with her own blanket and tea. As Iesha sits up, they would look like one of those old Russian ladies in their babushkas.

"D-do you.... d-do you know when R-r-roldan will c-come back? O-or when the ssssun will c-come back?" asked the snake girl, her hands clutching tightly onto the warm cup of tea in their hands.

The question itself was answered by a knock at the door, which when answered would reveal Roldan himself standing in uniform and looking mostly fine, if pretty tired overall. "Hey," he offered simply before kind of letting himself in.

"Sorry I would have called to let you know I was off work and on my way, but my phone died mid-shift and I didn't have a chance to charge it. They've had us doubling up on patrols and everything with this long night."

"Thank goodness, you are okay," Celeste said, a look of relief on her face as she got up to greet Roldan She had tried earlier to call him, even sent a text, but heard nothing back. And while she knew that logically he was probably busy with everything going on, it didn't calm her irrational fears that something might have happened to him.

"Iesha and I were just wondering about you. Is everything alright out there?" she asked as she gave him a kiss and ushered him into the house where it was warm and cosy.

"R-roldan! Y-your back!" exclaimed Iesha, finding the energy to rise from her bundle of blankets to greet him.

"G-g-glad that you are ssafe and o-okey. H-how are thingsss outside? Y-you were gone for so long." spoke up Iesha, looking to him with concern.

Roldan returned the kiss to Celeste and grinned at her, giving a shrug. "Not much crazier than normal. The vampires were loving the long night though."

He crouched down low to be closer to Iesha's level as she made her way over to him. By this time he knew how much heat to give off to keep her nice and warm even outside of touching distance, and so he adjusted his temperature accordingly. "Hey sweetheart. Sorry I was gone for so long. Everybody's kinda freaked out with all the weirdness going on, and we need all hands on deck to make sure nothing bad happens."

He looked between the two of them, fighting back a yawn. "I'm off though for the next couple of days to let me recuperate. So after I get some real food and a nap, you've got me until then before I have to go to work."

"That's great news," Celeste said, very relieved to hear he was okay as she took Roldan's jacket from him, and all but rushed him into the living room where Iesha had her nest of blankets.

"Why don't you sit down, make yourself comfortable, and visit with Iesha while I make you something to eat?" Celeste told him, trying to hide the fact - though it probably showed - that she had been overly anxious, and irrationally worried about him with all the weird stuff happening on the island lately.

Iesha shed off the outer most blankets and basked in Roldan's warmth as he brought the temperature to just the perfect temperature for her. On days like this, she really appreciated that Roldan was here to keep her both warm and safe.

"I-its okay. W-what matters is you c-came back sssafe. I c-can understand e-everyone freaking out... I am f-freaking o-out a little as well... as beautiful the n-n-night is I hope the sssun will come back sssoon." stammered Iesha. While she was sure everything would fix itself... it is still scary to have to experience as there was that nagging thought of what might happen should the sun never return.

"O-oh? You will be off for s-s-several days? M-m-maybe we ssshould do sssomething l-l-like... like... m-movies?"
suggested Iesha, not really sure what sort of fun activities they should do together while Roldan was off. Then again, this time was meant to help him recuperate so maybe he just wanted to just stay home.

"M-missss Celeste? D-d-do you need help?" asked Iesha as they turned their head to see what Celeste was cooking up in the kitchen.
