As soon as the firestarter caught the punch, Amaya's mind and emotions went blank. It'd happened before. Some remnant of a previous life, somewhere in the back of her mind, it was triggered now, and it started running through scenarios of techniques that could potentially overpower the enemy is a fast and efficient way. It wasn't something that triggered often- rarely anymore- but it was something Yuki seemed to know how to bring out every time, and he did it a lot to calm down Amaya when she started throwing a fit about something. Naturally, Amaya's anger went away for the moment- not gone, just blocked behind barriers. It'd come back later, probably. It usually did. She was told whenever her "second mind", as she called it, triggered, the look in her eyes changed to be more more mature than her form would suggest, a soul that hinted at ruthlessness and determination. At one time, she might have given in to the aggression it called for, but Yuki had gotten her to the point she automatically suppressed her more violent urges.
Calm, at least for the moment, Amaya looked at the person in front of her in a new light. More specifically, the absence of a light. She wasn't really what to think yet. But then she saw the wings, and her eyes lit up, returning her back to what she called her immature playfulness. A smile crossed her face and she reached to try and stroke the wings, completely captivated by them now. Must... touch.... so pretty.....
