"I know that voice."
Wait - he knew that voice too. Soft, playful, great singer - that was Anna he'd just heard, right?
An earbud fell to the ground, dousing itself in coffee. Joining his other hand. Well. At least it wasn't sparking anymore. Hopefully. Maybe. Probably. A frustrated sigh, as his other hand took out the other earbud.
Listening closer, he could tell he'd interrupted a conversation of hers, too. Hhhh. Great, perfect. He'd have to explained why he was up here so late. Unless he managed to scramble up in time to run? Maybe.
Nix, trying to shake off the coffee and the dust from his hands and torso, was just about to scramble to his feet, when (and he had no idea how he managed to) he tripped on air and went flying, only to land on his face.
"Nix? Hey. You okay?"
Craaap. Without lifting his face from the pavement, Nix raised his hand. Thumbs up. "M okhay," he spoke, to the pavement, apparently. "Shorry for the noishe," he grumbled.
Ahem. A sheepish smile spread across his face. "Uhh... Hey. I'd uh, offer you some coffee, but it's currently all over my hand. Heheh-" and he broke off unexpectedly, gazing at her wings.
Her wings. She had wings. And somehow... She seemed even more attractive than before. Dunno, something' about her was just... And then he realized he was staring.
"Oh, shoot. I'm uh. Sorry. Um."

Anna gave a light laugh as she looked at him, plastered to the pavement. He was such a klutz sometimes, but then again, so was she. She watched as he looked up at her and just...stared. What was up with that? Anna raised an eyebrow at him. Ever since she'd gotten her wings, people were acting weird around her, and she wasn't exactly sure what it was or what to do about it, but it was just...weird.

She came all the way around the corner and offered him her hand to help him up. "It's okay. I'm too awake for coffee, anyways; if I had some now, I wouldn't be able to get any sleep tonight." She offered a smile, "Come meet my friend. We're stargazing."

Anatolii was just a about to begin to say something else, then Anna mentioned something about a voice and then stood up and walked off. Anatolii sat there for a second, wondering if he should follow or just stay put. He waited for a minute, assuming that eventually Anna would come back. After a couple of minutes, Anatolii assumed that it would be smarter to just get up and follow her.

Once he saw that she had struck up conversation with someone new, Anatolii decided that he didn't want to interrupt. He stood off to the side, waiting to be introduced.

"Well, damn. Good I spilled it, then. Well, maybe not, but eh. I'm staying up allll night anyways, for essay-finishing. It's whatever, I guess. Heh."
Glancing back, he discovered Anatoli, and with a sheepish smile, he got up and shook himself off (well, mostly). Man, why did he have to be so klutzy in front of Anna's friend? Wait - maybe it was her... well.... oh shit. In that case he had just interrupted a date.
Oh God, he screwed up.
"Sorry, dude. My bad. I'm Nix, one of Anna's friends. Didn't uh, didn't mean to disrupt your little thing here. Uh. Yeah, haha, that's my bad. Ahem, anyways..."
And he trailed off, then, because what could he say to kinda maintain the peace? Sure, he could just leave.... but he really didn't want to, for some reason. Maybe because of Anna?
Either way, he just stood there, scratching the back of his neck with a sheepish smile and kind of hoping to poof out of existence. Even though he knew he couldn't do that.

Anna gave a light laugh and shook her head, smiling. Nix wasn't usually quite this awkward. She wondered what had gotten him all worked up? It was sort of unlike him to act quite so...unusual. Ah, well. She put the thought away to consider another time - assuming she even remembered to consider it - and went to introducing her two friends.

"This is Anatolii," she gestured to the boy who had wandered over and was now standing with her. "We were fostered in the same home together for a while, though he...doesn't really remember it. But it did happen," she looked at him as though she were still trying to make that fact stick somewhere in his memory. Anyways. "Anatolii, Nix is one of my first friends that I met here at the academy. He's kind of weird sometimes," she grinned at Nix, "but he's a great guy."

Well. So he wasn't her date - it wasn't - oh good. Okay. He hadn't interrupted much then. Realizing this, he gave a more composed wave and a friendly grin to the newly a introduced Anatoli. Nice name it was. Italian maybe? Huh.
So Anna had been fostered - that didn't matter, did it? She was a wonderful friend nevertheless. Ahem. His thoughts were more jumbled than ever. Okay. He shot a grin back at Anna before nodding.
"I dunno about great, but I like to think i'm a good friend. Heh. Uhm, yeah. Nice to meetcha, Anatoli."

Anatolii sat quietly as he was introduced, making sure to try and commit to memory Te name and face of this new person. If Nix was a friend of Anna's then he would bargain that Nix would be a pretty okay person, or at least one that he should be polite to. "The pleasure is all mine, Nix." He was going to retain his composure, despite his hesitancy to be social. Anatolii was not too keen on the idea of losing his cool during first impressions, people tend to remember the guy that forgot who they were literal minutes after being introduced.

"And don't worry, you didn't interrupt anything of dire importance. Just two friends restarting an old tradition." Granted, Anatolii would've preferred that they hadn't been interrupted. However, there wasn't much he could do now and the interruption wasn't too bad. After all, there would probably be another night to watch stars.

"What are you talking about? You're totally great," she laughed. Nix was being weird, but she wasn't sure if this was just part of his usual weirdness or if something was off beside from that. A wind picked up and rustled through her feathers, blowing a few loose and scattering them across the concrete.

"Oh!" she was suddenly reminded of something as she watched a few of her feathers dance around on the ground. "Right. I can grow wings now," she grinned and took a couple of steps back to give herself room while she stretched out her wings to show Nix. "Flying is pretty cool, too. It's got to do with me being a siren and stuff, I think. Miss Vanessa turns into a mermaid, but I turn into a bird, apparently. Well, not like a whole bird. But...yeah."

"Still, man. That's pretty important...." Nix sighed. How much of an idiot could he be today? At least it couldn't get any worse, right? "Nah, c'mon. I suck!" He laughed, joking along with her. Yeah, he sucked. Not entirely, but on some levels, he totally and completely sucked. Speaking of things that sucked -

NOPE! Nix was entirely wrong - it could, and would get worse.

He watched as Anna, apparently suddenly caught with a wave of oh yeah I can do that now! started to back up, alerting Nix to something. That something being a pair of (frankly giant?) wings, stretching slightly in the night. Man, were they pretty. Like, they were so real... He could reach out and touch them. Except that'd be rude, and creepy, in a thousand different ways and HE WAS NOT A CREEP. SO all he did was pretty much just stare at the wings like a weirdo.

"Damn. Nice wings. I mean, real nice. The whole flying thing must be nice, too, yeah?" Don't be a creep, don't be a creep...

"What's your next tweet, then?" DAMNIT! HE was a creep. Hhhh. Maybe he could fix it?

"I-I mean, since, bird, and... uhhhh.... y-y'know what just forget it. That sucked, bad."
