starlight as your light

There was no light in the ballroom, except for that of the stars. A young woman danced in its light. Reddish gold curly hair rose as she spun. Blood red eyes were closed. What colors were on her it was hard to see because of the little light. The only other side besides that of her steps and breathing was a small tinkling of a wind up music box.

Evol enjoyed her brief time as a human with this, dancing.

Diligo slowly walked through the ballroom, doing his best to see without much success. It wasn't too long ago that he had left. Why? He knew not the slightest reason. Perhaps, he realized, he was only scared, frightened of having to begin anew, and more importantly, afraid of forgetting his past. Pathetic, how human I have become. Diligo thought to himself. Indeed, every trace of angelic heritage was almost lost in the young demigod, and without much in return. By this point, even Lorne had disappeared, gone back into the forest, perhaps never to return.

Sighing to himself, Diligo began to recover his sight ever so slightly, just enough to see a lone girl dancing in front of him. His first thoughts at this point were to leave the girl to herself, but before he could consider it, something had taken his mind again. His angelic blood stirring like it so rarely did in his veins, it almost spoke to him. This girl is not ordinary, it seemed to warn him. Of course Diligo heard that often when being where he was.

But still, the angel turned back towards the girl and stepped towards her. As calmly as he could to not disturb her, he spoke.

"Why, hello there."

As the dancing girl heard the sound of another speaking she stopped, turning towards the boy.Red eyes almost seemed to glow red as she stared, pupils slit like a cats. Lips curved into a smile as she gave a curtsy, it evident she wore a skirt as she did so.

"Good evening. I did not think I'd be seeing others here so late."

A hand rose and from the palm of her hand a small ball of flame rose, illuminating both of them. There was something that had been hidden by the darkness, but now was easily seen by the glow of the flame. Wings. They were golden and brushed against the floor when she walked. Her outfit was a black skirt with a deep red skirt, her shirt a tight long sleeved black top.

She watched the boy as she walked to some unlit candles, lighting them so she didnt have to keep the flame on her hand going.

Diligo simply froze at the light. Startled he looked at the girl before him, at the golden wings she possessed. They were too large to be those of the serephim, completely different in shape and number (Serephim possessed six wings) than the ones his angelic breed possessed. But nonetheless they were wings, and golden wings at that. How could the girl keep them out like that?

"I say the same to you. I hardly sleep, but its rare I see others this late into the night." Diligo replied. He watched as the winged girl lit candles around the room. It still was pretty dark, but at least he could see clearly.

"it really is a rare occurance, to meet up in a place like this." Diligo said. His voice took on that angelic tone it did sometimes, if only because the girl in ways resembled one. He brushed his blond hair from his eyes (in the dark he never saw it brushing his eyelid) to see his environment better.

"My name is Diligo. Might I ask yours?"

OOC: Sometimes my character sounds a bit ridiculous, but because of raising, its not an act; he always speaks this way. Always.

She enjoyed the small amount of light around them, not being too bright for the darknss that surrounded them. She noticed him being startled but said nothing, seeing no reason to. She thought little of her wings personaly. they'd been a part o her for as long as she could remember.

"The night is the best time to enjoy life. With no sounds of the usual bickering. The daylight takes so much fun from life. I do not sleep aty night.

Maye its a odd coincidence, or maybe not.
" She said this with a close lipped smile that were in her eyes as well. Her own voice was no angels, but it held no deonic quality either. It was pleasent in its own way to listen to, though maybe that was because of what she was. There was another sound in it as well, almost a purring rumble of a felines.

"You may. Im Evol, its a pleasure to meet you Diligo."

"Diligo listened to her voice as she spoke. Not just to hear what she said, but to hear the way it was said. All through life he had found it truthful, that one's personality, at least to extent, flowed through there voice. What he heard this time, though, was different than usual: So much stronger, and yet so much more delicate. Intricate, the demigod decided, intricate is the only way to describe such things.

"The gods do not bother with ridiculous games of chance." Diligo said. In truth, even as a half angel, he had no idea, in this manner his words were merely speculation. "It is in no way a coincidence; we've met here, and now, because of fate. As has everything around us."

Hearing his words a deep laugh almost seemed to echo in the room. Once quieted she gave him a smile that held no ill intent. You couldnt say it didnt liook possible though, from the way she moved and held herself, which was more like a predators than human or angelic.

"Ridiculous. Ive always thought chance is good for the attitude. Too bad. Always liked to think we had some bit of chnce if life." She merely shrugged.

A young boy fought, his knife in hand, against the greatest odds in the universe. The archangel, 6 wings shining in the day like the moon in the night, armed with a spear of fire. The archangel, a warrior, the child, nothing but. And yet the boy charged onward, and got launched back, again and again until the child was obscured in his own blood.

"Why do you insist on striking me? Great armies have been crushed under my lance; does that not phase you?" The archangel roared. Light erupted like the sun itself from the angel's skin. Under this new light the angel again stepped forward, the darkness parting around his body like water. But the boy didn't hesitate even then. He stared back into the angel, so blinded that he could tell not whether he was even looking into the eyes. He gripped his knife only harder, and limply charged at his foe.

The angel only laughed.

And now that laughed had returned to Diligo's life, one the demigod had worked so hard to forget. The cackle sent a shiver down his spine. But he quickly gained his composure.

"Well, perhaps, I guess it really is how you look at these things..."

She raised an eyebrow as is laughter quickly died. She seemed about to speak when she heard something. attention went to a darker corner, shadows almost seemed like an abyss. A sound came from it though. Almost as if someone stood there. The light didnt reach that shadow though, so oe couldnt see.

The girl on the other hand, took a few steps in the direction away from that shadow. The expression on her face was one of a fear that had seemed born long before she had met Diligo. Hand rose and a flame larger than it overflowed her palm. She threw it towards the shadows. Instead of dispelling the shadows, they literally jumped from the flames. Not in time to hide the male who had stood behind them.

"Making a new friend little sister?" The boy asked, though his words were anything but a question. The boy looked to be the same age as her, but was anything but a mirror of her. Hair was black except for the white spot in his bangs. Eyes were like the shadows earlier, two twin black abysses. He carried a sword at his side that currently under his palm.

Evol snarled in reply.

Diligo looked into the shadows, saw the fire reach it, and the even stranger boy coming from the corner. It was not obvious where this boy came from, who he was, or even what his intentions were. But it was obvious to Diligo that this man provoked fear in Evol. And fear spread like wildfire. No matter, Diligo thought to himself. A foe has made himself known. Possibly. Now's not the time for human fear. He evaluated his options. Take Evol and run? He wouldn't dare. Fight? Not without knowing the truth. Approach? He could stand and think forever, only by moving forward would another option ever occur.

Diligo took several steps forward, his first trembling but the rest in perfect stride. His steps now made a the sound of metal on marble; the blades on his feet which clashed like skates with the ground. His left fist was clenched, but if he was to open them the end of a gun barrel would be visible. He was prepared to fight if the need came. But deep inside, he hoped it wouldn't,

"Excuse me, Sir, but by the gods, who are you supposed to be? I don't appreciate those who sneak in the shadows."
