Headmistress Cordelia Moore stood before the gathered crowd. Time seemed to fly by lately, and she smiled briefly to herself with the notion that she could have sworn she was just here giving the pre-graduation speech for last year. Ah well.
"Good morning. Friends, families, and loved ones. It is an honor to be standing here before you all on this day. To present to you the students who have worked so hard and done so much and are finally at the end of their journey. But life isn't like that. One journey ends and the next one immediately picks up. Graduates, perhaps you intend on going on to college, or maybe you have other plans now that you are no longer a student here at Starlight. Whatever the case may be, I know that you all will shine brightly in the world and do something amazing with the opportunities you have been given. Thank you all for your hard work, and congratulations on your achievements. Without further ado, I would like to present the graduating class of Starlight Academy for the 2017-2018 school year."
The headmistress began calling out names of the graduates, handing them their diplomas as they walked past with a hand shake and a few words of encouragement.
