A confused look overtook Rem's face with Amber's oh. The way she looked hurt and then figured out why he was recording her and how genuinely she seemed about just figuring out that Rem suspected her of trying to frame him. There was something weird going on, a feeling he didn't typically associate with himself and demons. Guilt.

It was the smile, that accursed, kind and genuine smile, followed by her proving that she had no intent to frame him that really did it for Rem. He clenched his fists and his wings began to flap quicker and quicker until she asked if he was alright.

"No I'm not!" He yelled and his wings came to a halt. "Why do you insist on keeping this infuriating act up? There's no point! You could have framed me right here and now and I'd have been defeated and sent out of your hair forever. Why don't you just act like you're supposed to? Are you not as tired of this as I am?" His voice shifted as he spoke, changing from an upset yell to a defeated whimper. Rem was desperate to find the evil in Amber, it was the only way he knew to quickly rid himself of the growing guilt he was feeling.

Rem stood there, defeated and just listening as Amber spoke. It was honestly kind of a first for him. When he first got there he would never listen to any of what Amber was saying, but now he was having serious doubt.

He wanted so badly to see some evil in her but the type of evil he was searching for just didn’t exist. He was starting to get that, but still felt frustrated by everything.

If Amber really wasn’t an evil demon and she was just being herself all that time, then she was practically a saint and he’d treated her like scum. Even worse, the way he’d treated other demons, if one wasn’t evil then the grounds that someone was evil just for being a demon didn’t hold up. And then potentially the worst of it, if Amber was being truthful then what was he supposed to make of Sera. That man was his hero, his mentor and in a weird way he was sort of like his father. If what Amber said was true, then Sera was wrong. Everything Rem has believed for his entire life would be wrong. It was incredibly hard to accept but so clearly obvious now.

The angel crossed his arms. He looked distracted, eyes placed on the ground rather than Amber. He spoke under his breath but still loud enough for Amber to hear. “We can still be partners.” He had a lot to think about, and now he felt guilty about how he had treated Amber but wasn’t willing to say he was wrong and admit he might have mistreated her.

Originally Rem would have liked to get more done that day, but now he just wanted to go somewhere alone and think. He looked deeply bothered but nodded at the suggestion that they'd done enough for the day. "Yes, I agree."

He eyed her leg for a moment, then spoke up again. "Are you... going to be fine to walk with that leg?" He wanted to leave but something told him that if he abandoned Amber right there and something bad happened, he'd probably end up regretting it. At least, more than he already regretted his actions.

Amber was convincing enough. Remiel supposed that she’d be fine then. He could leave without having to worry. “Very well. I’m going to head home then I guess. Farewell...” He bowed slightly and made his exit, flapping his wings and heading home just as he’d said.

Once he made it there, he began to consider everything. Not just from today but other incidents that took place on the island. Needless to say, he had a lot of thinking to do.
