Ever since she was assigned to be Remiel's partner the two of them have been getting along great! Amber was doing all she could to be the best partner as she can be to demonstrate her good character and Remiel was at least going along with the whole thing. She still got the sense that was some lingering resentment of being forced to work with a demon but hasn't been overtly hostile. Her family was a bit uneasy about her working with the angel given how his interaction with Dalia went. Despite Remiel's views on demons, Amber knew he was deep down a good person whom just need to be around some positive interactions with a demon whom breaks all of his preconceptions on demonkind. Sure there were some really bad demons out that but so long as he can recognize that there exist some good demons out there... that will be enough for her.

So back to the task on hand, she and Remiel were to find spot to set up both the bird feeders and the camera watching them. Both of them had delivered on their promises: Remiel made the custom wooden bird feeders with large tray bases while she brought the small camera that could be attached onto something. Nice thing about these ones that they come with a little solar panel and ca be set up where they can watch the camera from their phone. Useful when checking up on things but the most important was the sim card that can used that records the footage which can record for an entire day but will need to remember to switch out the card. Which was fine given that they would need to come by each day to weight and refill the feeders anyway. While choosing a spot seemed simple enough there were concerns to be mindful of. Concerns such as lightening throughout the day and how far the cameras should be away from nearby passerbys so that they don't interrupt.

"Ah... hey Remiel? Where do you think we should set up everything?" asked Amber whom then pointed out a few areas nearby "Should we hang them over by that big tree over there? I bet that there are a lot birds there. Or... maybe over by that slimmer tree there with a bit more sun? I dunno... what do you think?"

Ever since he was assigned to be Amber's partner, Remiel had been forced to suck up his true thoughts in hopes that Amber would eventually give away her true nature and he could prove once and for all that even the sweetest of demons were nothing but frauds. Needless to say, it was exhausting, and he'd still seen nothing noteworthy out of her actions.

Just as Amber had said, she actually managed to bring the camera. Rem had searched for a camera on his own with little luck, so it was a relief that Amber had succeeded there. This left the bird feeders and the bird seed, items that were being flown behind Rem in large bags carried by small wings.

After meeting with Amber and setting out to place them in the park, he had begun heading to a nice secluded patch of trees where he'd put up a bird house. Of course, he never bothered telling Amber this so it wasn't much of a surprise when she started asking where would be a good spot. "I know a decent spot, we can put hang them there." he spoke somewhat coldly, not saying much more than he had to.

Before long, they'd reach the spot. The wings on the bags flew them onto the ground then poofed away while the angel looked up at a nest inside a birdhouse on one of the trees nearby. He'd put the birdhouse up there about a month or so ago, it was how he knew about this spot.

"Alright. This is the spot."

"Oh do you? Alright well lead the way then." replied Amber as she tags behind Remiel.

She was curious about this place Remiel had in mind as it sounded like he already scouted out the area beforehand. Upon arrival Amber would be amused the little wings on the bags poof away and then took a gander around their settings.

"Oh yeah this place is perfect!" agreed Amber as her eyes linger onto the nearby birdhouse "Awww and someone even left a birdhouse here too! So I guess we know for sure that there are at least some birds home~"

Amber then turns to Remiel to give him a big toothy grin as she approves of his chosen location. Now they had the task of setting up everything.

"Alright you wanna put up the birdfeeders Remiel?"

Remiel didn’t dare admit to making the birdhouse himself, instead he just replied with a simple “Yeah” confirming that there would be birds here for sure.

He didn’t care if Amber approved of the spot, of course he didn’t. He knew this spot was good himself and he didn’t need a demon’s reassurance-

He was broken from his inner thoughts by Amber suggesting he put up the bird feeders.

“I will.” He spoke bluntly before heading to the bag of bird feeders and taking the first one out. It was simple, just as he’d described earlier, a tray with edges and rope to hang from.

Keeping conversation to a minimum, Rem started hanging up the trays one by one, using his wings to get up to the tree branches. He kept them all somewhat close together so they could each fit into a camera’s view. He never suggested anything for Amber to do while he was doing that, once again having painfully poor communication with the demon.

"Thanks!" thanked Amber even if Remiel wasn't that reciprocal of her. She remained on the ground as Remiel flew off into the trees to hang up several of the feeders in the tree branches. As she watched him do his thing, Amber looked to the camera she hand in her hand fiddled with the settings before she called out to him.

"Alright you are looking great Remiel! I'm gonna climb up one of the trees to set up the camera to watch the all of the feeders" stated the demon spider girl whom sized up a nearby tree and scaled up its branches like a natural.

Once up the tree, she leaned out on a study branch and used her webbing to hold down the camera and the portable solar charger in place in way that was secure but still allowed them to adjust the settings or change out things as needed. With her task complete she waves Remiel down with one of her hands.

"Okay all set up here. I'm just going to hit record..." the camera beeps and a little light indicates that the camera was recording. Amber double checked and it seemed to be in working order "... and all good! You want to fly over here to check it out?"

Once the bird feeders were in place, Rem began taking out bags of seeds from the other larger bag and started filling up the feeders. He just emptied the last of them when Amber hit the record button.

In a hurry to get out of the way, Rem flapped his wings once and flew to the side, then went around to examine the camera.

He looked it over then looked at Amber. “Are you able to see what it’s recording to know we have all of the bird feeders in view?” He eyed the light curiously. He admittedly hadn’t ever used a camera like that before coming to the island.

"Yeah, you can actually connect to your phone with an app. Here let me show you." Amber pulls out her smartphone and with a few taps she brings up on the screen what the camera is currently viewing.

"There see? All the bird feeders are centered and in full view. I can even adjust the view a bit on my phone if wanted. Just watch."

As Amber presses her finger to command it to move right and it does. Then she presses the arrow on her phone to go left and it does so. With the little demonstration done she presses another button and the camera centers back to the bird feeders.

"There see?" as Amber looks back to the phone she could see the first bird already landing and checking out the feeder. She lets out an audible gasp and looks up to the bird feeders and sure enough there was a tiny brown and white bird with a black mask over its eyes like a raccoon helping itself to the seeds.

"Oh look! Our first bird~" squealed Amber as she was soon enthralled by the bird. The said bird was soon joined by a similar size bird with near identical coloring save this one lack the black mask over its eyes.

"Ahh look at them... well seems like the feeders are working as intended."

Rem hesitated a little when Amber offered to show him, but he did end up moving beside her to get a better look at the phone. Sure enough, all the bird feeders were in view right on her smart phone. The demonstration of how Amber could control the camera was also fairly impressive. It fascinated him how much she could do with the camera without even using magic.

Rem wouldn’t admit to being impressed though. He simply responded with “This will work.”

His eyes widened as he noticed the bird come into view on the camera and then turned his head toward the actual feeder. He watched, silently in awe, for about a minute before remembering that he couldn’t be letting his guard down like that.

“Let’s leave them be, we’re done here.” Normally he enjoyed bird watching but not while Amber was still there.

"Mhmm, yeah sure thing. Wouldn't want to bother them with our presence, that is what cameras are for." agreed Amber as they descend down the tree. As careful as she was however, one of the branches she was supporting one of her legs on snapped under her weight. While she tried to recover her footing, she ended up missing her mark and fell down the last couple of feet.

"Whaaaa- Oof!" yelped the spider demon as they made landfall onto the grass which barely did anything to cushion her. Wincing a bit, she gets back up on her feet but found her front-most right leg to be aching due to her landing on it funny.

"Ooooo... I'm okay I'm okay!" she insisted as she rubs and inspects her patella. Amber then tests to see if she could extend her leg out all the way but found it too painful to do so she instead just tucks her leg close to her body and supports herself on her remaining 7 legs.

"I'm sorry about that... the branch just broke and it happened so fast... should have used my silk to support myself but... I didn't wanna leave a mess and... ah well I guess I should have been more careful. I'm such a clutz." groaned Amber as the then lightly knocks herself on the side of her forehead with the palm of her hand, feeling a bit like an idiot but was otherwise okay.

Rem heard the branch snap and turned to face Amber almost immediately. He was already on edge from being around her and waiting for her to pull something, but what he saw was rather unexpected.

Normally in that situation, he’d send out his wings to fetch the falling person and prevent them from hitting the ground. But this was Amber. A demon. He hesitated and watched her hit the ground.

After she started to get up, Rem winced just watching her. It looked like it seriously hurt. There was no way this was a trick, she had to be seriously injured. Unless...

Rem put it together. She was going to blame him. She could easily say that he attacked her and there’d be nobody to back him up and say that he didn’t. With the times he’d gotten into trouble for being rude to demons and what everyone knew about him, there’d be no reason not to believe her. He was beat. He floated with his wings and kept a pretty shook look on his face.

But then, she said she was okay? Sorry even? Rem was confused, a little frustrated even. His expression changed to reflect that and he pulled out his phone, he could prove that it was a trick, he was desperate to.

“Amber. Can you please confirm into this recording that it was your own mistake that led to you hurting your leg and nothing of my doing?” He held out his phone with the audio recorder running. His voice was mostly calm but he was clearly getting flustered by something.
