She attempted a smile, though it didn't do much, and automatically, subconciously shifted slightly away from him. "Indeed, I am immortal also." she agreed, taking no offense. It wasn't like she hid her age.

She observed him silently for a moment as he said it wasn't why he came here. "I never believed that it was. One doesn't need a reason to enjoy the fleeting beauty of the world." to this, she truly smiled, one that completely changed her face.

The smile disappeared though, with his compliment. "Yes, well I wouldn't go as far as to call it luck. I stopped believeing in luck 1000 years ago. And I believe your idea of beauty may be a small bit askew." she turned her gaze from his face out to the water.

Well, he'd asked to sit, but that didn't mean she had to change how she acted. She hadn't promised cintilating, friendly conversation. She was going to push him away just like everyone else. Because she had to.

If James was phased by anything she said, he didn't let it show. He had learned many things over the years and not looking surprised was one of them. Of course, there were some exceptions, but lets not talk about that. James decided to ignore the somewhat less than friendly attitude she seemed to have towards him.

"Even if the current beauty is fleeting, there is always something beautiful in the world, one just has to find it." He replied.

He smiled back at her, even if her smile faded.

"I do believe I am not mistaken in my assumptions, you might consider them askew, but I do not."

He did truly mean those words, he found her to be quite to his tastes. Even if she pushed him away, he would persevere because friends your own age tended to be dead most of the time in his case. So if you happened upon one, you'd better try to be friends because there weren't many people you could share such experiences with.

"Hn." she acknowledged his words, but said nothing more. She looked him over slowly, searching his face for something, before making eye contact with him. She held his gaze for a minute or two, before looking away from him. She said nothing, but as her gaze looked out at the water, sorrow filled her features.

She wasn't strong today. That was why she was wearing black. She wasn't strong enough to even push somebody away today. Maybe, just maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have an immortal friend. She pushed that thought away. He'd probably just wind up dying in a fight or something, she told herself, subconciously shaking her head.

He simply sat next to her, enjoying a companionable silence with the equally aged woman. He drew his knees to his chest and crossed his arms on them. Words weren't necessary, what was there to say? Nothing much. He let his gaze wander over the lake, taking in their depths. It was comfortable, they were not talking.

Kirvalia sighed, trying to convince herself it was time to leave the lake. If she stayed, his charming, peaceful attitude might just attack her, and then she'd have a friend, and be right back where she was several years ago. She rubbed her forehead thoughtfully.

She sighed again, and then stood. "It was nice to make your aquaintance James, but I have to go elsewhere right now." she said cooly, dipping her head at him, then walking away.

James was once again by the lake, uncovered feet in the water. He was looking towards the other side of the lake, lost in thought. The sandy haired man was enjoying some quiet time by himself, not that he was around people much either. He was as much a loner as most immortals. The man hoped the other immortal he had met would come back. Those he could relate to were not many and that one was one of them.

Perhaps, somewhere deep down inside of Kirvalia, she was hoping that she'd see James again when she went down to the lake. She wasn't feeling as depressed as she had been, and had managed to lock up her past again.

Because of this, she was wearing red. A red sari hugged her hips, before giving away to creamy skin. A fair ways up to her midriff, there was a red top, that was half covered by the rest of the sari. She paused when she saw James, and accidentally tripped, sending herself sprawling beside James. She landed with a small "oof." sound.

She chuckled sardonically. "Well.. That wasn't quite the entrance I was hoping for.." she said, pulling herself up into a sitting position, her face going back to it's emotionless mask.

If James hadn't been sitting, he would have jumped a few feet in the air in fright. He had a hand over his beating chest and was looking at her with wide eyes.

''Don't startle me like that again.'' He told passing a hand through his hair in shame.

She had managed to sneak up on him while he was thinking, he was getting rusty.

''Where are my manners, how are you milady Kirvalia?'' he asked.

Kirvalia looked at him seriously, meeting his eyes directly. "I'm very sorry I startled you. That was not my intent." she apologized, dipping her head at him.

She brushed off her front, mostly to avoid looking into his eyes again, "Other than that I fell on my face just a few moments ago, I am quite well, thank-you." a light pink of embarassment colored her cheeks, but she pretended it did not exist.

"And you James? I seem to have disturbed you out of some deep thought. Again, I apologize." she offered a slight smile, though it did not reach her eyes. It was mostly just the raising of the corners of her mouth.

He gave her a smile, meaning he didn't hold her accountable for having been startled.

"Its okay, I am sure you did not mean to do it." He replied warmly.

He took note of her embarassement and thought that she blushed cutely. That soo was not what he should have been thinking about. Kirvalia was just a friend, right? Sure, she was cute, beautiful... intelligent... *ARGH* He thought before smacking himself upside the head mentally. Outside, he looked the cool gentleman as usual. Now, he had managed to feel embarassed at his own thoughts.

"It is no trouble, those were depressing thoughts either way and i am glad you came to keep them at bay."

Okay, so that was a white lie, he had been thinking of her so it couldn't have been that bad could it?

"I am doing good." He said with a smile.
