The trees swayed with the wind, leaves flew passing by jophiel as he walked through the woods. He's has been meaning to scope out these woods around the academy out of both curiosity and to find spirits that want to play with him. Jophiel knows that this island is highly supernatural in every sense of the word, equal or even more so then the forest he once lived in previous to coming here.

He held his art tablet close to his chest and smiled, "Lets see if I can find any fun little spirits here." He said to himself.

But a thought crosses jophiel's mind, which spirits are students and which spirits are free roaming?

Hexalia was huddled behind the trunk of an ancient tree, trying and utterly failing to stay calm. Nothing on this plane made sense. The sky was the wrong color. People ate dead things. Tendays were seven days long.
When things became too much to deal with, the the forest was Hex's respite. It's intersecting branches and roots reminded them of some part of home that they couldn't remember. They had a sort of nest here, filled with nicknacks and spell components too dangerous to keep in their dorm. It was the sole place on the island where they could truly relax.
And now this person had entered their only sanctum carrying a device that was doubtless some kind of weapon.
He's probably here to kill me. He's going to kill me. I'm going to die.
A twig snapped under Hex's feet. There was no way the intruder didn't hear it.

Hex hazarded a glance and saw the interloper's weapon - a silver dart or or some kind of cylindrical dagger - poised to strike. Okay so fighting him wasn't an option, but that wasn't an issue, everything was fine, it's fine, don't panic. They could still try to talk their way out.

Hex vaguely remembered enduring hours of etiquettte lessons, being taught how to speak and carry yourself to command respect, how to bargain to ensure get more than you gave away. They'd forgotten all but bits and pieces of it, but it would have to do.

Fighting back tears, they approached the intruder. The word posture surfaced in their mind and they straightened up, plastered a smile on their face and held out their hand in greeting.

"hello sir I am prepared to offer you all of three rodent skulls in exchange for my life please thank you"

Hex yelped and recoiled, scampering back to their hiding spot. For several agonizing moments, they waited for the intruder's pursuit. Nothing. Bewildered, they poked their head out from behind the tree.
He seemed genuinely curious, and he didn't appear violent. Maybe they had misjudged him.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?"
