Arda raised an eyebrow at that, but he wasn't entirely surprised. Plenty of people had shit going on. That being said, he'd have to hear what sort of troubles she was having. She didn't strike him as the type to lie and use him for something nefarious. If she was really like that, then she would probably be much more eager to pair up with him. Still, he had to be sure, he wasn't going to get duped again.

"Well, I guess now I'll have to know what's going on with you then? Like the full story because this can't work unless there's mutual trust," he explained.

Violet nodded. "That's fair." And then she hesitated. "It's just... kind of hard for me to say it out loud. I need a minute."

She was afraid. What if the wrong person heard the wrong thing? What if this was what led to her death? She had to tell herself - this probably wouldn't happen. Chloe didn't have ears everywhere, not anymore. Realistically, none of the other demon lords she was worried about would know to look for her yet. No matter how many times she told herself these things, though, she never really felt confident.

"So, there's a minor demon lord who lives here," Violet began, keeping her voice low. "I'll tell you her name when we don't have as many ears around. But to keep a long story short. We're technically both parts of the same person. We got split apart late last year, when some weird supernatural stuff was happening, and when we met up again in hell, she ran in with a divine weapon like she was about to kill me. So, I ran away, ended up here and became homeless for a while, and she's living what used to be my life, with the people who used to be my family.

"Before you ask, I wouldn't feel right trying to take my life back. She's still being just as good a mom to my daughter as I was... I don't have the right to end that. But, she probably wants my part of our soul back, and so do our old enemies. So... lots of looking over my shoulder."

"Sheesh, I guess everyone's got some nasty crap going on huh?" he groaned. He realized he wasn't fully disclosing everything himself either though. There was a reason he was also looking into this outside of possibly feeling more complete than he currently did. "Maybe if you approach it right, you could come to a more reasonable agreement? You're alive and have rights too ya know."

"I... kinda owe you more of an explanation as to why I'm looking into this too," he said, also glancing around the restaurant.

"A good friend of mine has some former coworkers looking for him..." he explained hoping she would catch on to what he was saying. "Can't say much more here, he's shy about it. Was hoping you could help me help him throw a little party for them..."

Arda suggested that Violet could come to a peaceful agreement with Chloe. She nodded. "Great minds think alike. I've been planning to set up a talk with her. I just need to find a few ways to ensure my safety, when I do."

And hey, having Arda around would definitely help with that.

Now it was Arda's turn to explain himself - but he was being cryptic. And now she wished she had come up with a more cryptic way to explain her own situation, to keep herself safe from prying ears the way Arda was protecting Masami.

Then again, her issue was more complicated. Masami's seemed pretty straightforward. The bad dudes Arda and Masami ran away from followed them here. That was easy enough to decode.

And Arda probably wanted help with that. "I know a few things about parties, sure. But I figured your friend didn't want to deal with those guys. Should we think about getting the cops involved if they get too rowdy? Or is that just our problem?"

She could deal with working a little bit outside of the law. It wouldn't be her first time.

Arda munched on some more food as he considered this. Police involvement on the one hand would be ideal. But on the other hand may make things worse if the enemy was savvy enough. There was of course the very likely chance they'd caught wind of his own presence as well. He looked to Violet and wiggled his hand in a a so-so motion.

"Well... there's a lot to factor in here. More than we should probably discuss in here honestly," he sort of looked around at the restaurant in general.

"Besides... speaking in code is a pain in the ass," he added under his breath.
