Webb sat underneath a tree, reading from one of his books. It was an old romance novel, filled with more poetic speech than what most modern readers would read. He was trying to come up with ideas for a poem for Kaya, he wanted to reciprocate her love in a way...well, other than how they usually reciprocated it.

"(I like the usual way better.)" Azrael spoke, not having much care for the inane mushy scribblings of mortals.

"(We've done quite a lot of that already, I want to show her I love her in another way she'll appreciate.)" Webb responded mentally.

Shin sat crosslegged under a tree, he wasn't meditating proper, more letting his mind wander. It often helped a bit, with the memories of his his past life.

Taking a break he opened his eyes and rose from his seat. He took his shinai in his hands, he kept the training sword with him often.

He started slow, basic movements, slashes and jabs, nothing particularly impressive. Then as he continued it got very impressive, he moved into complex combat movements, advanced and deadly. Skills someone his age wouldn't normally have.

The young man was moving by instinct now, instinct derived from the memories of his past life. All the duels and wars, he had the experience from them all.

Webb suddenly heard a commotion from nearby, looking he saw a few trees away that another student like him seemed to be practicing with a wooden sword. He decided he'd watch a few minutes before returning to his poem reading. As he watched however, he noticed the boy was gradually pulling off more advanced combat styles as he went. Eventually the boy was doing very advanced manouvres that only people who trained for years could even attempt with any kind of skill.

Webb got up and walked closer, crossing his arms with the book still in his hand. When the boy took a break, he spoke up.

"You're really good. So what's your story? Child prodigy since you were young? Or are you older than you look?"

Shin looked at the newcomer approached him, "hello," he said calmly, "thank you, I like training here." He paused for a second as he thought about how to answer, "I suppose it could be either," he chuckled a bit, this situation that was his life was odd to say the least.

"Anyways," he bowed, "I'm Shin Arakawa." As he rose from his bow, he propped up his shinai against a tree, "I hope I didn't disturb you with my training."

Webb gave a nod to Shin's bow before sticking out his hand to shake Shin's.

"Webb Fowler, not at all, I simply took interest in your skills, I usually only see people with those skills when they are much older."

"We could beat him, easy..." Azrael spoke in his eldritch language.

"Yes, the one you just heard was Azrael, he's the one you see right now." Azrael's body slumped over as Webb popped out of his back, wearing his melding suit. "This is me." He said before popping back in.
