Although Leeroy was better known for his role in leading large classes under the Powers and Physical Education Department, there were times that a broad paintbrush couldn’t cover all of his students. And while schools in the narrow reality had a more clinical understanding of students that deviated from the typical norm, students here at the academy were especially unique. Today, Leeroy’s after-hours were going to be spent with a student named Sela, who- much to Leeroy’s umbrage, could not be adequately described by anyone he spoke to on faculty.

He had heard many things about this individual- how they were simultaneously both an adult and a child, ageless yet innocent, wise yet naive, tangible, and yet unfathomable. Leeroy was skilled at figuring extraordinary people out, but at his core, he was still that human boy from rural Oklahoma. Having some sort of divine entity being his pupil was a bit intimidating, to say the least.

He reviewed the file in his hands one last time as he approached his office, where the individual and any support staff would be. He adjusted his tie, wearing casual business attire to set the proper tone for his presence. Authoritative, yet down-to-earth. Clearing his throat, he opened the door to his office.

"Sorry I’m late, had to wrap things up in the gym." Leeroy looked down to see the magical being, trying not to squint at their radiant physical form. "Well hello, you must be Sela. I’m Mr. Bradshaw, but you can just call me Leeroy if you’d like." He extended his hand for them. "It’s very nice to meet you."

Sela took on an adult form for their after-school class with Mr. Bradshaw. They wanted to be seen as mature. They needed to be. The fact that Ophiel was following them around almost always. As if Sela was going to run away again. They already learned their lesson. The robed angel only left after Leeroy entered the classroom, but not without first greeting him and introducing themself as Sela's minder. Leeroy was told to give them a call once their session was done, though Ophiel knew to return in about an hour.

Sela looked up at Bradshaw with an almost blank expression, aside from the way their eyebrows were turned up in subtle anxiety. They took his hand. If he shook it hard enough, he would go through them. "Yes... I'm Sela. Nice to meet you... Mr. Bradshaw."

They looked around the room for a few seconds, then back up at the man. "What are we doing? I don't, um... Is this because I made people?"

Leeroy would have been warned about this. After Sela returned from running away, they came back with two entities from their dream world. Those entities were not students per-say, but they resided inside of Sela, could communicate with them telepathically, and would sometimes separate themselves from their creator. The school worried that Sela would create more people, and they were currently undergoing strict therapy to understand the value of their creations.

After exchanging pleasantries and contact information with Sela’s handler, it was just Sela and Leeroy left in the office. He mentally noted how this entity stood in stark contrast to the rather plain and earthly looking office- as if a symbol of what was yet to come.

He gently took their hand back in a firm, yet polite shake. "The pleasure is all mine." Once he released, he went to sit behind his desk. He placed his hands in front of him, clasped loosely together just behind his nameplate. He recalled what the other faculty had said in regards to Sela’s exploits. To that, he offered a simple smile.

"Well, we could discuss that. But I’m sure my colleagues already gave you an earful about that already, so maybe we can put that on the back burner for now." He leaned forward ever so slightly, a curious look on his face. "Tell me about yourself, Sela. What do you think I should know about you?"

Sela was thankful that Mr. Bradshaw wouldn't focus too much on that. It would come up eventually, they knew, but they didn't want to get another lecture on the sanctity of life and protecting their creations.

"About myself... Um. I don't know. You sound like a therapist." They took a second to review everything they knew about their 'powers.' "I can shape-shift, sense dreams... My body is gaseous and I don't have human senses other than hearing and sight. Inside of me is a portal to another dimension where I have a lot of power. It's in the dream world. This is the awake world. I think I know how to use my powers... other than the new developments... Sometimes I change form but that's because of how my head works... That's why I'm," their face twisted into a frown, "legally a minor."

In between listening, Leeroy let out a hardy chuckle. "Well, I’m no therapist. I just like to get to know my students." He remained quiet for the rest of their explanation. He followed along with their words, jotting down pieces of information on a sticky note. With the last bit however, he looked up, curious.

"I see… So because your forms present themselves, you are considered a minor..." He recalled a colleague mentioning that. "I can imagine that would be frustrating, with challenging your agency as an individual and all. What would you say in particular causes you to change? It’s okay if that’s too personal to share. Still..." He leaned back a bit. "If that’s something you would like more control over, I can certainly try and help."

If Sela had irises, they would be looking at Bradshaw's notepad. The only hint there was to that was the slight tilt of their head. Logic told them that he was only noting down their conversation. Paranoia told them to look and to demand him to stop. They managed to keep quiet and let logic win.

"I don't know," they replied when he stopped talking. "It's. Random. I become small when I'm angry or sad or I want to play and have fun and do whatever I want. When kids are around I want to be like them. When adults are around I want to be like them. Sometimes I don't want to be either. I want to be an animal and not be a person so I become an animal. Animals don't have to talk to people or go to school."
