Andrasta got hit in the ribs hard. They didn't give, but that would definitely bruise. Her shoulder wasn't feeling great either. Her arm felt weaker, but not dead.

Before Dalia could press the advantage, Andrasta decided to try something that she had only done in a practice room. In this lifetime, anyway. She fell forward at an angle, landing on her good side. This may or may not have looked unintentional. Then with a loud POP! beneath Andrasta's feet, her legs swung forward with incredible speed. She was trying to sweep Dalia's feet out from under her.

In the process, Andrasta scraped up her arm - the one that she had on the ground, that she was pivoting on. If Andrasta had a chance to kip up after this move, Dalia would probably notice her bleeding.

DAlia got swept off her feet with the force of the explosion empowered kick and she went sprawling. Her head cracked against the ground and she saw white for a second. But she'd be fine. She was a Tor. But she couldn't give Andrasta a chance to follow up with another attack.

With a spark, Dalia shot along the ground away from her opponent and rolled on her back into an unbalanced standing position. She wobbled for a second and put her hands back up. And then she noticed Andrasta bleeding and her stomach leapt up into her chest with her lungs.

"Wait wait. Time out. Are you okay? Shit..." Her eyes, which had to this point been slowly turning red, shifted violently green - more green than they usually were anyway. "What the fuck are we doing here, Andrasta?"

Andrasta stopped, confused. She looked at her arm. "I'm fine. This'll be okay in like an hour. Are you okay?" She might have gone a little bit overboard with her rocket-kick thing. It was kind of a stupid maneuver.

What were they doing out here? "I dunno. You said you wanted to hit something, after that whole thing with Ida. So I thought you'd want to spar." She took a breath. "And I didn't want to just leave you alone after all that."

Right. The whole argument with Ida. It was coming back to her now - she had gotten so wrapped up in their little sparring match that she forgot Dalia had threatened to commit crimes. It had been a pretty fun sparring match up until now, at least.

Dalia huffed and kicked the dirt, snapping her bracelet into a spear and jamming it hard into the ground. "Right. It's just... I didn't just want to hit something. I wanted to hurt something. Someone."

"This is bullshit. I don't know why I threatened her - it was just the first thing that came to mind. And Orsick is treating me like I'm some kind of fuckin monster for it. Like he doesn't even know me or everything I've been through. Just passing judgement like everybody else." Her heartrate was already up, so it didn't take Dalia long as all to get herself riled up. She wasn't yelling, but she was raising her voice. Angry, clearly. Hurt, probably.

Andrasta needed a second to answer that.

She saw where Dalia was coming from, being pissed off at Orsick. But at the same time, it kind of felt like he had done the right thing.

"I think... he's just scared of you doing something that'd get you in Juvie again. Since you were acting like you were gonna do that. And... I dunno, maybe that was his version of kicking your butt so you'd know you were going too far and stop? Like you were talking about doing to Ida."

As soon as these words left Andrasta's mouth, she felt like she was about to make Dalia even madder.

Dalia groaned and dragged her hands down her face, growling and clicking in a way that came really naturally to her - an almost vibration kind of sound originating from her chest. Spider noises.

"I know that I just - you guys know me. You know I wouldn't really tear her arm off and beat her to death with it or whatever I said." She really didn't remember explicitly. The whole thing had felt blurry and fast, and she had admittedly wondered what color Ida bled in the moment. But that wasn't unnatural for her, right? She was Malara's daughter, and she was a demon after all. Or whatever she was now.

"You know she's going to get her ass kicked if she doesn't stop, but she thinks that because it's illegal that no one will do it. She needs to realize that some people don't care about that stuff. And it's not like Juvie is the worst thing. We've both already been. It was good for me the last time..."

"I mean, I cut my hand off trying to break out of that fucking place," Andrasta said. "Even if it's not the worst, it really sucks. And you shouldn't do that to yourself trying to save Ida from herself. It might not even work! And then you'll just, fucking, end up in jail because you tried to scare someone straight who we don't even like!"

Andrasta just wanted to just slap her, out of sheer frustration. Didn't she realize how stupid this all was?

"Chances are it's just gonna end up like what I did to Aedes, when she gets her ass kicked." All Andrasta did to Aedes was throw one punch, in a fit of tearful rage. That put enough fear in Aedes, and Andrasta didn't even have to end up in juvie.

Dalia huffed and crossed her arms defiantly, staying quiet for a long time as she chewed over what Andrasta said. Her eyes fluctuated, red and then green and then back to normal - a subtler, brown-green that wasn't nearly as bright as they had been moments before.

"I just..." she finally said, clenching her fists tight against her arms. Every muscle was tense. Her hair ran wild with electricity through it. "I don't have to like her to want her to be better. I just don't hate her. If I hated her, I'd just wash my hands of her like I did Phaedra and Nasci."

"And I dunno... maybe I need to go back to the Islets. Anthema was fucked up, and now she's back in my head. She did a lot of bad things... things that I know about now and I mean- I dunno."

There was a lot going on here, with the whole Anathema situation layered on top of everything else. Andrasta didn't really know how to tackle all of that at once.

"Well... you still don't have to go to jail to get help," Andrasta said with a frown. "Or to help Ida do better."

She was silent for a few beats. She was probably out of her depth with this. Because, yes, she did messed up stuff in her past lives - but how much was that really the same as what Dalia was going through?

Hesitantly, she added. "Plus if you... wanted to talk to me about some of that stuff. We could talk about it? like, my past lives are kinda messed up too, and I'm getting help with that. And... it would be easier if one of us wasn't in gay baby jail."

Dalia sighed and collapsed backward, sitting hard on the ground and resting her arms on her knees. She snorted though at 'gay baby jail.' She couldn't stay mad or serious with Andrasta being a dweeb, and she gestured for her friend to come closer. "Fighting done. Need affection."

Once they were settled, Dalia sighed and wrapped her arm around Andrasta in kind of a half hug. "The thing is, I think I could get in trouble if I talk about the stuff that she did. Because technically, I guess I did those things too. On the island, even. And I don't want to freak you out with the bad shit - it freaks me out even and I'm the toughest girl on the island."

Dalia almost smirked, looking sideways at Andrasta and waiting for the assumed challenge to her uncontested status.
