Live's alarm went off with the same blaring annoyance and she hit the snooze button the same as always. She laid there for a moment, about to drift back to sleep for another ten minutes before her alarm went off again when she realized something was off. Her eyes slowly crept open and she pushed up herself up, looking around her room skeptically.

Everything was exactly how she left it last night but there was definitely something different about the space. Usually, when her alarm went off she was filled with this feeling of dread and misery. However, she didn't feel that this morning. A bit, lingering in the back of her mind but the same heaviness wasn't there. She stood up and walked into the bathroom, checking to make sure her face was okay.

Yup. Everything was intact. In fact, she looked better than usual. The deep bags that were usually under her eyes were lighter than usual and her skin looked not as dead. Something was horribly wrong.

Without a second thought, Live grabbed her bag, threw on her shoes and ran out the door. She didn't know what the hell was going on but there was only one person she could think of who could possibly have something to do with it.

She shadow traveled as quickly as she could to the apartments and banged on Loveless' door.

"Hey!" She cried, banging again, barely giving her boyfriend a second to get the door open.

Roughly two days of preparation had brought him to this moment. Loveless had rearranged the furniture in his apartment to close off the living area of his apartment, making it an arena of sorts. The combatants were ten Roombas painted with unique flames and skulls, and armed with kitchen utensils. They also held balloons which, one could infer the goal was for the cleaning robots to pop the balloons. So far little progress had been made they all more or less rolled across the living area as they did. With nothing else in particular to do today, aside from checking up on Live, he had nothing to do.

The demon had just settled into his favorite chair when there was banging at his door. The voice was familiar, it was Live. She'd barely gotten the final raps on the door before he opened it. He could tell she was distressed about something, but she looked fine, physically at least. "What's wrong?" was the demon's almost immediate response as he let her into the apartment and shut the door.

"You're not hurt anywhere? Dying? Cursed?" he examined Live from all angles as he asked.

Things had only gotten stranger as Live had traveled to Loveless' apartment. Usually, she found herself feeling weaker during the journey due to power usage and sun exposure. But today, she didn't feel the same drain. She could feel the use of her powers taking its toll but the sun didn't bring her the same feeling of lightheadedness.

Live entered the apartment and noticed something was just as off about his living space as was her mental space. "Uh...what the hell are you doing?" She asked poking one of the balloons as a Roombas rolled past her.

As Loveless circled her, she was reminded why she had dropped by quite unannounced into the cleaning machine battle. She grabbed his arm, forcing him to stop moving around her like some scientist inspecting a subject. "I woke up feeling...different. Normally I feel heavy. But today, when my alarm went off it wasn't there. Maybe hiding in the background a bit but...different."

She looked at him skeptically, "You don't have anything to do with this, right? You know I don't like my feelings screwed with, even if you're just 'trying to help'."

Loveless was one of two people, well demons rather, who Live actually shared her feelings with. Those feelings were basically depressed, angry, and generally disinterested with life. Working with Kaya and spending time with Loveless were the only things that brought her what most would deem 'positive' feelings.

"Obviously it's the greatest cleaning battle of the century," he said gesturing to the Roombas. "They do battle for their king's amusement."

Loveless tilted his head as he listened to Live describe her morning. To anyone who knew her this would sound like a strange but good thing. On the other hand, it was still a weird occurrence. She had come over to ask if he'd somehow done something to her. He would have told her if he was capable of something like that. Naturally he shook his head.

"I wouldn't do something like that without asking you anyway. That's not really something I'm remotely capable of," he explained, he sort of leaned into her as she grabbed his arm. Then he recalled the news reports he'd heard recently regarding the recent viral outbreak. Something about one of the strains seemingly curing people of their present chronic symptoms.

Looking at Live she seemed a bit more energetic than usual. Most people probably wouldn't be able to tell, but he could. It was all a little too sudden in terms of the change, so the only explanation he had was the Riddle Effect. "It could be that bug that's going around. One of the symptoms kinda cures or at least blocks chronic stymptoms," the demon explained. He couldn't help but be a little happy even if it didn't last very long.

Live couldn't help but roll her eyes as Loveless explained the cleaning battle in his living room. She was massively attracted to the guy but that didn't mean she didn't think he was a bit of an idiot sometimes. But then again, she kind of thought everyone was an idiot, including herself.

"Yah know, you're the strangest lust demon I've ever met right?" She made it sound like she knew a lot of lust demons, which she didn't. But, in her head, lust demons just wanted to screw everything they saw. Loveless seemed more interested in just having ridiculous fun with whatever he saw.

Hearing Loveless tell her he hadn't done anything, and that he wasn't capable of doing what she was experiencing, she relaxed a bit and leaned into him as well. She let her head drop against his chest, eyes staring at the ground.

She felt a bit bad for suspecting Loveless may have done something to her. She was so used to people who were close to her causing her harm that she was always on edge whenever she let someone into her inner circle.

When he mentioned a sickness, Live lifted her head, her eyes skeptical, "A bug? Curing chronic symptoms?" Somehow she was doubtful something like that could be true, but then again, this was Manta Carlos Island and, literally, anything could happen.

She thought about how the sun hadn't drained her as it usually did this morning. Was it possible that this bug could somehow block the symptoms of the condition of her mostly-consumed-by-darkness-soul and somehow allow her to handle sunlight again? Something she hadn't been able to do since...since the day her brother left.

Live's eyes had changed from skeptical to a strange combination of terrified and inspired. She turned from Loveless and walked to the nearest window where a bit of sunlight was breaking through the curtains. She threw them back and opened the window letting the sun's rays fall directly onto her skin.

Immidenitnly she noticed something different. Usually, the sun felt like it was giving her a sunburn right off the bat. But that wasn't enough to know for sure. If she really had some bug that was blocking her symptoms (or sun allergy) then she would be able to stand there for at least 30 minutes without blacking out.

She wasn't moving until she knew for sure.
