A scream of pain was expected, instead it let out something different. A telepathic burst of energy that hit Leandro, flowed through his mind. Leandro felt it, the creature had abilities beyond what he expected, then he vanished into the shadow, grateful that he didn't have to feel the full fury of the power.

The young vampire leaned against the tree, his mind clearing, he could hear the creature in the distance. The creature was definitely unusual, definitely not just an animal, taking a breath, he vanished into the shadow.

He popped in and out of shadows, following the creature from a distance, making sure to keep himself behind something. Normally he'd let the creature be, but this wasn't the forbidden forest, people regularly came to this area, and unfortunately many still would despite the crisis.

Focusing he vanished again, shadow traveling further ahead to get in ahead of the creature. He popped out of the shadow of a tree, making sure to keep it between him and the creature, he scaled it, using his claws and enhanced agility to move up it quickly. Crouching behind the branches, he waited for the creature to get close.

The creature was obviously injured, but with only one leg of eight hurt, it was far from down and out. Even at a distance Leandro would be able to hear it's telepathic cry, like a lowkey scream constantly present in the back of his mind. The closer he got, the stronger it would get, and within ten feet it would certainly be distracting. The creature carried on, and if Leandro was familiar with the layout of the forest, he might have recognized that it was not heading deeper - it was heading out, back towards civilization.

The creatures head swung around periodically, and it seemed aware that Leandro was nearby, even if he couldn't figure out just where he was.

He waited patiently, his body relaxed but ready to move if needed, his breathing slow, quiet and even. Patience had been one of many things he'd been taught, when to wait instead of leaping, that it was a virtue in combat as it was in life in general. This creature was headed out of the forest toward the city, that was something he couldn't allow, the bizarre terror needed to be put down.

Sliding his sword back into the scabbard on his back, he drew two daggers from his side, one for each hand. Brushing a bit of the leaves down, he looked down, his sonar picking up any sounds around him, he needed to time this carefully.

A bit longer he waited, until the creature came under the tree, then he jumped. He jumped, diving off of the beach, down toward the creatures, his two daggers coming down with him, the blades aimed toward the sides of the creature's neck. He intended to to deliver a potentially lethal blow, or at least badly hinder it.

While a huge portion of its skillset was based around not being noticed (its camouflage unfortunately completely useless against Leandro's sonar), it was not entirely defenseless. When Leandro dropped from above the creature jerked back, but lacking any sort of super speed its only advantage was that its reflexes were greater than the average human, although not as good as Leandro's own. One dagger would mostly find its mark, digging into the creature's torso as the other went wide.

But this time it was prepared. With very little need to aim it swung one of its arms, the arm itself slamming against Leandro's side. Leandro wouldn't feel any pain, but a large bright red mark would appear on his skin beneath his suit, covering the majority of the side of his torso.

The psychic scream persisted, but the tone was different - the fear had been replaced by rage and anger, and as the creature shoved Leandro back there would be a clear message within the scream.

I won't let you get me!

His attack didn't quite land as he intended, one blade found the creatures torso, the other missed. The creature was hindered, but not dead, this fight wasn't over yet. Then he felt the blow, it was odd, he felt the impact, he had to dig his other dagger into the creature to keep from being thrown off, but no pain, no physical affects, very odd.

Leandro didn't have time to consider what the blow actually did to him, the creature's psychic scream hit him, within the scream was the creature's intentions, it wasn't going to stop. It intended to keep going, to head into the city, that was something he could not allow.

Gritting his teeth, his lifted himself, using the daggers as leverage, placing his foot on one, he leapt, drawing the other as he did. He slashed at the creature's throat as he leapt, he needed to end this, before it got away and hurt someone.
