Dani flipped her braid over her shoulder. She turned on her i-pod, but turned the volume down low. She opened the book she was currently reading and soon her concentration was focused slowly on the words her eyes were reading. She leaned her chin on her hand.

Dev pulled his wheelchair to a stop in the grass and looked around. He spotted a girl with an i-pod like the one that was almost literally attached to him at all times--like it was at the moment--and decided to talk to her. Once he was at her side, he leaned his forearms on his knees. "Hi," He said.

Again?! Dani thought angrily. Can't these people EVER leave me alone? She shut her book and turned off her i-pod-to her annoyance, in the middle of She is Everything- before looking up. When she saw the boy in the wheel chair, her jaw almost dropped. "Oh, hey." she replied with a smile.

Dev turned his own i-pod all the way off, took the ear phones off his ears, and slipped the tiny gadget into the pocket on the front of his hoody. "Dev Irons, and you?" He asked as he offered his hand. His straight-forwardness surprised him, for he usually wasn't like this.

Dani stared at his hand. She had no intent on standing up, if that's what he meant. She looked up at him and cocked an eyebrow before she realized that she was supposed to shake his hand. She took it and gave it a firm, quick shake. "Danica Jenson. But don't call me Danica. Just Dani."

Dev nodded. "Okay. And actually my name is Devlin. But I go by Dev." He looked around them before turning his gaze back to Dani. "Whatcha reading?"

Dani nodded once then turned the book over. "Don't Take Any Wooden Nickels, by Mindy Starns Clark," She replied. "I'm almost finished though."
