Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

Akira walked gracefully into teh ballroom, his wings were elegantly tucked by his back almost obscuring them from view from the front. His eyes scanned the room making sure that no one was present before unfolding his wings to their full length, about 6 feet. They were very long and powerful, slowly at first he began flapping his wings, he hadn't used them in quite some time and they were stiff. He began moving upwards and when he reached the chandelier a sharp pain shot through his wings and they stopped moving. He began falling back down but grabbed a hold of the chandelier with his hand and pulled himself back up and sitting on the side of it. He knew he couldn't stay there for long but the unexpected and agonizing pain had left him breathless.

I guess I better exercise my wings more often... he thought and stretched them out before pulling them back into his back and out again trying to work out his muscle kinks before descending back the the ground of the ballroom.

Allie entered the ballroom, she looked around a smile on her face till she saw the chandelier. On it was a guy, she stared at him for a bit. "So do you normally sit on Chandeliers?" She said with a light chuckle, she didn't know how the guy had gotten there. She moved into the ballroom more. "Aren't you a little worried about getting down?" She looked at him waiting for a answer not revealing her power of wind because she wanted to just sit and watch then help if needed.

She wondered who he was and what brought him here, her past aquiantances were a little odd. Like Shadow the boy who knew nothing about his past but yet suddenly got so much back. She wondered if all boys at this school were that messed up.

Akira was just about to get ready to float down when he heard a voice causing him to jump a little and then grab the chandelier so as not to fall off. He looked down and saw a girl standing down there.

When she asked him if he was worried about getting down smiled and unfolded his wings. Not so much. he said in reply to her question and standing up did a little head dive off of the chadelier stretching his wings out to full length and swooping up right before he hit the ground to land right in front of her. His already messy purple hair was a wreck after that little show but it didn't bother him.

Giving the girl a little bow he said My name is Akira Miller, and if you don't mind my asking, might you be?" he said with a kind smile.

Allie smiled. "I might be someone telling you not to swing on chandeliers or I could be Allie Corellaz, maybe both." She said with a smile. "You do realize that wasn't the best landing." She said with a light laugh looking at him. "You okay?" She asked since he did kinda hit the floor and it was far from a graceful landing.

She wondered why he just didn't fly down but figured there was a reason for everything. She observed him looking at his purple hair wondering if he dyed it that color. She then went about observing the ballroom. "So you've been here long?" She asked curiously since she had just arrived at the academy itself today.

Akira smiled and rubbed his wingbehind his arm, Yes, I'm fine I just haven't had a chance to exercise my wings in a while and well they aren't wanting to cooperate with me. he moved back a few steps, he'd landed closer to her than he had meant and didn't want to make her uncomfortable.

Well that depends, are you asking if I have been at the school for a while or the ballroom? he asked with a smile. He liked to test people's minds. Although that wasn't a good mind teaser in any right he just felt like asking.

She smiled lightly... "Well more so the academy, I figure if you were on the chandelier long it would've broke and you'd be in trouble. So how long have you been at the academy, or have you been there at all?" She said with a light smile.

She had been exploring the academies different places trying to get used to her new where abouts. "So what made you come to the academy? Running away? Forced? Tricked? On a mission?" She was extremely curious. She had tried to talk with Shadow and that had been hard, him having no memory only made it harder. She hadn't had a good talk with someone for a good two weeks and craved to talk and to hear someone else talk.

Akira smiled at her, she was very anxious to talk.
Well, I have only just arrived at the academy but I wanted a chance to stretch my wings before venturing onto the campus. I wouldn't call it "forced" more like referred." he said with a mysterious smile. If they chose to develop a friendship he would tell her later about his anger problems and the reason he had been sent to the school. He didn't want to scare her off.
But how about we sit down if we are going to talk for a while? he said walking over to the large staircase and sitting down a few steps up from the floor.

Now, if you don't mind, a few questions of my own. What are your powers? Why are you here? And how long have you been here? That should get us on equal playing ground to continue our conversation. He smiled again, he was happy to be talking with someone his own age, that had the same oddities as himself (powers wise that is) and actually didn't scream at the sight of his wings. He very well might like it here after all.

She smiled, she was going to like it here. This guy seemed to not be like the others, he seemed special. She actually might become friends with him, she was glad to find someone who wasn't obsessed with everything going on. "Sounds good. I haven't talked to people for awhile. So let's see, powers are wind, I came here for training purposes, and I just arrived today and haven't seen my dorm yet. So does that make us equal?" She said with a chuckle.

It was good to have someone to talk to, she wished she didn't have to run away to get here but it was something she had to do. She had to get over the fact she couldn't have dealt with her old situation and still have lived.

A small chuckle escapred his lips. Yes, that makes us equalhe said. He looked at her she seemed nice but worn, like she had been through a lot in her short life. He wouldn't pry but perhaps someday they would grow to be friends where she would tell him about what had happened to her.

Well I don't even know where the dorms are. he said with a laugh, which was true. He didn't. He wasn't even sure if he could find his way to the campus let alone around it. Directions had never been his forte and he was more often than not lost, but in his silly little way of making everything optomistic he liked to think that at least while he was lost he was on an adventure.

So Allie, do you like it here so far, even only being here for a day? Made many friends yet? You're the first person I've seen here.

"I've only met you and one other person, he's a bit odd. Can't remember his past and gets it back in seconds when needed, it's too odd hard to keep a coversation with a guy who only knows his name and where he's going." She said with a sigh.

She laughed lightly, "I saw the main building on my way here I figure it's got to be somewhere closeby. If not then I'm sunk, anyhow there's always hope even when it's seems hopeless." She said with a smile.

"So I'm curious... did you dye your hair or was it naturally that color?" She asked looking at it. It's not that it didn't look good on him, she wondered whether it was real or not.
