He had been told about this, too. That once things were done--once things were said and done, the message passed on, that there would be an after. There would be tears in the after, or near-tears, and even if Hwum wasn't the victim in the case, her feelings still mattered.

"Is there anyone you'd like me to call for you? Getting this kind of news is upsetting." Not can be, because it was. Anyone would be upset. "And it might be better if you had someone here with you." Family. Friends. Someone. He was just praying that she wasn't going to say the person I was closest too was Broen.

Call someone? Hwum's expression was baffled for a moment, when the possible people she might've wanted to be with ran through her mind. But they were all in Akt'Anir, and her few friends were probably still in classes, and Hwum couldn't possibly bother the chief or her family over this. Besides, Hwum wanted to try and survive through this on her own. She had to stay strong. Tears weren't weakness, and so wasn't leaning on others. But Hwum wanted to at least try and get through this alone at first, and then contact someone close to her later. So she shook her head.
"No...there is n-no need. Um, i-if you need help carrying his things I-I could help?"
Hwum tried to switch back to being polite and accommodating, but her smile was small and her eyes were still moist and on the verge of tears.

Angelo frowned, looking over her. He didn't like the idea of her being alone, but he wasn't willing to push in case the answer was really there's no one. That was the worst case scenario. Someone who'd lost someone, who had no one to lean to. Suicide--and that was the most obvious answer, even if it wasn't confirmed--had a tendency to inspire copy cats.

That was the last thing he wanted.

"No, it isn't necessary. I am... I am very strong." Which was the understatement of the fucking century. "I can carry whatever needs to be carried. If you'd like to help pack things, you can. Were you in his room often...?" That would certainly change things.

"O-oh, I see..."
Hwum nodded slowly, the fact that she couldn't help and keep busy lowered the chances that she could keep her tears in until officer Genovese left. She was very strong as well, but surely one very strong individual was enough to carry the clothes of one young man.
"I, um, wasn't. In his room, ever. He appreciated h-his space, I respected that..."
Hwum had seen the inside of his room from the hallway, it was scarce to say the least. If Angelo insinuated there having been any intimate relations between the two it went completely over Hwum's dense and shocked head, she had never ever even considered that possibility.

He hadn't been, but he made a note anyway. Mostly, he was wondering if her helping back stuff up would be relevant, or if it'd just feel like she was violating his privacy. That said, it was fairly obvious what the answer was after she said so, and he nodded to her out of sheer instinct.

"Alright," he said after a moment. "I'm going to go pack his things then. I'll leave it empty enough that the school can handle the rest. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask, alright?" He'd wait for confirmation before heading into Broen's room, letting himself in to get to work.

Hwum's mind was starting to slow down, as she didn't let herself cry and her mind was approaching apathy and shock instead of emotional outburst. So when officer Genovese said he'd go ahead and pack Broen's things Hwum nodded slowly.
"Y-yes, understood. I-I'll just..."
Hwum gestured towards her room, and stood up after fumbling for her glasses and putting them back on her nose. She headed to her room as officer Genovese headed for Broen's room, and she bumped into the door frame a bit as she entered her room. But Hwum didn't really even notice. She left the door open a bit, and in the half dark Hwum dug around in her closet, pulling out a sandstone boulder. Hwum sat down on her bed, and began slowly molding the boulder into different shapes, feeling like she needed to keep busy in one way or another.

Angelo wouldn't have blamed her for crying. That was normal. He didn't even register it half the time. Didn't think of it the same way other people did. Didn't go oh, you shouldn't cry.

Crying was normal.

He had known Broen, even if he hadn't considered him a friend, and he was careful as he went through the room, methodically picking through the whole space. Clothes went in one bag, odds and ends in another bag. His laptop...? Angelo shoved that in a third bag to hand back to the school. His phone had been with the body and was still sitting in evidence. There wasn't that much actual stuff, and he was under the general impression that the whole thing was going to be a three-grocery-bag-job until he opened the closet and actually let out a yelp.

There was--for a brief moment--a person sitting in the bottom of the closet, their legs folded up to the chest.

And then the reality sunk in, and Angelo realized it wasn't a person. It was a suit of gaudy red power armor, a crown perched atop its head, empty of any occupant.

Why the hell was that in the bottom of his closet?

Few tears had already fallen from Hwum's eyes on the boulder she was holding in her hands, when she suddenly heard the yelp from Broen's room clearer than day. And instinctively Hwum jumped up and ran over, stumbling a bit on the way. And naturally when she got to Broen's room Hwum couldn't see a thing, or what had made officer Genovese yelp. At least there weren't any smells that indicated danger, like blood. Just Broen's scent.
"Officer? Is everything alright?"
Hwum asked, her cheeks were a bit wet but thanks to her mind now being occupied by this moment the tears had stopped for now.

He took a second to compose himself when Hwum burst in, and he winced. Had she heard that? She'd defnitely heard that. She probably couldn't even - actually, if she could see in low light, the closet with its suit of armor might actually be partially visible, as bathed in shadows as it was.

"It's fine. Just - opened the closet and thought he'd hid a goddamn body in there." He supposed it was technically possible there was a body in the suit, but as far as he knew Crawford was still in jail...

Just to be sure he reached forward, pulling the helmet off to make sure there wasn't anything hidden inside.

"It'll be a bit clunky, but I think I can manage everything I found in one go. And - again, if you need anything, just hit me up, alright?"

"B-body?!"
Hwum said with a shocked tone, why on earth a body would be in Broen's closet?! Hwum peered towards the closet she knew was there, and she could indeed make out a human figure inside it. But Hwum could tell it was hollow even before officer Genovese took off the bodysuit's head.

"A-alright, I see..."
Hwum answered and swallowed once, the moment was passing and her tears were starting to flow a bit again. Hwum couldn't hold them back anymore now that they had started again, but she did her best to hold back the sobs that wanted to erupt.
"T-thank you again, f-for your consideration..."
Hwum said once again, and nodded her head a bit as she began backing out of the room, bumping into the door frame yet again but not really noticing. Hwum wanted to get into her room, so officer Genovese wouldn't have to see her break down.
