Being a teenager was kind of fun, but moments like these kind of sucked. The night was going so well for Shir at the community center. There was almost a fight, and he was hanging out with Maddie eating pop rocks. Things were kind of nice, until they got pretty awkward. Getting labeled a couple, by another couple. He wasn't ready for that, it made him call into question the nature of his relationship with Maddie. Were they a couple?
It was really painfully obvious they liked each other. She liked him, and he liked her. He'd consulted the internet on where he should go with that, and the general consensus was just ask her out. There was no way in hell the solution could be that simple. Either way, they'd gone someplace a bit more private to talk it out. Shir took a seat on a bench after they'd found a private enough spot.
"So I guess people think we're going out," he finally said after an awkward moment of gathering his thoughts.
