Painter lies in the bead in a coma from excessive internal bleeding. His rib had cracked earlier and dug into an organ, cutting it open and making blood spill within his body. The area on the skin surface is several ugly colors, made up of purple blue and red, and his breathing is labored. On his right arm there is an IV hooked up into his wrist, pumping drugs into his body and keeping him alive. However, within his mind he is haunted by a new dream, one that is both peculiar and frightening at the same time...

He stands in a graveyard in the middle of a full moon night. He's alone and afraid, the graves around him looming and intimidating. He begins to wander around quietly, his wings spread out on either side of him, creating an intimidating shadow.

After walking a few yards, he sees a freshly compiled grave and walks over to it, reading the tombstone hanging overhead:

Allie Corellaz
Wingless Wonder
Enemy to the witch
and all her followers

Painter steps back, suddenly frightened. He begins to look around, frightened and afraid. Suddenly he notices another tombstone, right next to Allie's, with his name on it. He walks over to it, shaking in disbelief and runs his hand gently over the inscription. He looks up, just in time to see a man materialize from the shadows.

"Hello...," the voice says to him, "I see you found your gravestone.." The man smiles darkly, letting his words sink into Painter's head before continuing, "You and Allie fought valiantly against the witch..but fell nonetheless. She was more powerful than you and Allie anticipated because she had grown more powerful over the years since Allie's demise. This is a warning to you, when you think you're ready to fight the witch, you're not. Find a man names Axel and try to convince him to train both you and Allie, only when he finishes will the two of you be truly ready.." With a glance at the tombstone again, the man sighs, "Now return and tell this to Allie, so she can be prepared as well.."

Suddenly, the world around him seems to shift and...

Painter opens his eyes, lying in the bed. He glances down at his shirtless body, the wound making him close his eyes painfully.

Allie was sitting by his side, she watched him worried about his wellbeing. She felt the tiredness from waiting for hours in the hospital, she looked at the clock yawning from her tiredness. She looked at the clock, it was near midnight the nurse had been kind enough to let her stay the night since he was so severely injured and she was worried. She looked at the heart moniter and the IV line going into his body. She thought of many people, she knew the training needed to defeat the witch. But she didn't know if two people could defeat the witch, she remembered having her wings made it easier to dodge and use more powerful wind attacks without being slightly drained. But now she wasn't the same, she knew it as well.

She sighed thinking about talking with her new found friend about possibly finding another person to fight alongside them. She didn't want him to end up dead nor did she wish for the witch to be able to hurt people anymore. Allie remembered tiny bits of a place seeped with darkness and people trapped. She didn't know where this was, little did she know this was the witch that had taken control of DCA's buildings and land.

She looked at Painter and noticed his eyes open then shut. She smiled lightly, and sighed in relief, he was okay!

With a sigh, his eyes open again and Painter looks to the side seeing Allie. Oh good..I can tell her while the memory is fresh.. Painfully, he sits up a little, gritting his teeth through the pain. "Well, I've got some bad news..even after we finish training me to where you were at, we'll lose. The witch has become more powerful. While I was asleep, I had a dream..I was in a graveyard and we were both dead. A man told me what happened, and then told me to seek out a man named Axel. He told me that Axel can train us and make us better than we were before.." He lets loose another sigh, "I just have a feeling that this isn't going to be as easy as it sounds.."

"I know she's stronger, but one thing I know is that from what I've been thru I'm stronger too. I'm more worried about you, I've never had someone as a friend from what I remember so I don't want you to get hurt. And after that small test and all I think that you need more training as well. I know my weaknesses sadly I may die because of this wound out there. I'm not sure what will happen, but I know that we first have to become good before we try to go higher and if we're to seek this Axel guy out you need to first heal." She said looking at him, a small glint of caring in her eyes.

"Painter... truth be told I don't know if it'll be possible to defeat her, though I know now her weak points. But she's still pretty strong, I don't know if you should fight... I don't want anything bad to happen to you in the fight and she might be able to defeat me easily and then she could take your wings as well. I don't want that to happen to you. So if you rather not risk it, it's fine." She said her heart saddened, meaning the words. But a part of her wanting him to be there by her side when she fought the person who torn her wings from her back.

Painter looks at her quietly, in disbelief of what she just said. "I can't believe you just said that to me..it's too late, I'm just as involved in this as you are and I'm not going to stop. I'm going to work harder and be better than you were. Then we're going to go and find this Axel person, and then we're going to go and annihilate this witch. Nothing you can say is going to change my mind from that course. If I lose my wings or die, so be it, but I won't leave you alone to face death, nor will I let you die. You're stuck with me, so deal with it." He closes his eyes and fights back anger at her thinking he's too weak.

Tears came to her eyes, a memory flashing again in her mind. People hiding huddled against a wall, the witch and her fighting hard, one of them crying out for help. The memory stopped there she forced herself not to cry, "I... I... wasn't strong enough, I tried to ignore their cries to save them. But I couldn't, I was so close to victory and then..." A tear dripped down her cheek...

"I know I was strong, but I'm afraid because now I'm not alone and I don't want to have to see something happen to you. Or you to have to see me fail, I want to finish her off even if I die right after I do. I don't want you to stop me because you don't want me to die, I want to stop her and rest at ease. I know very little about my past now, all I know is she's strong, she took a part of me and now I need it back or I rather be dead." She said looking at him, "I don't want to do this so I can live at ease, I want to do this so I can find that part of me I'm missing. I want to finish that fight with the right ending, and I don't want to end up leaving people crying if I die."

The truth was she accepted the fact she'd die, but she was going to kill the witch as well. She didn't care if she died anymore, she cared about finishing the thing which wrecked her life. She had no future but stabbing the witch's heart with a silver dagger. That's what she had, she didn't dream of love or family she dreamt of putting this behind her forever.

Painter shakes his head at her in disgust, "You're a fool.." he says to her..his eyes narrowing, "A god dang fool. You act like you're the only one who is enemies with the witch. I'm going to be there fighting for you, and I won't allow you to die, I refuse. You act like your life is something dispensable, as if it's not important, but it is. You've lived you entire life ready to attack the witch with a suicide attack on your own. But you're not alone anymore, I'm here to help you, even if that means tying you down here while I go to fight her, just so you don't die. You're life may have no importance to yourself..but it has importance to me, whether you believe it or not.." He quietly goes silent, realizing he was getting carried away. However, he meant every word he said.

She went silent, no tears, just confusion. She was important to him? But how? She had only known him a short time truly, but for some reason she felt he was important to her but that was different she had just got her first known friend who would fight beside her. Why did she mean anything to him? This made her think, she managed to speak. "But I'm just a weak girl! I couldn't defeat her, she slaughtered some people! I couldn't kill her! I tried and tried, but I was too weak." She looked down, "I don't deserve to live, she only let me live probably to laugh at how pathetic I am." She said ashamed of her living and others dying.

Painter's sighs, his voice lowering a bit, "You made a mistake, ok? Everyone makes mistakes in their lives. Just because they make a mistake doesn't mean they no longer deserve to live..You're my first real friend, and I don't want to lose my only friend. Maybe this Axel person will take care of our weakness, maybe he will be the one to teach us how to defeat the witch..I don't know. I swear though, you had better not die..I won't allow it.." His eyes drift downward, his rib throbbing painfully. He ignores the pain and blinks slowly, "I won't let you die.."

She looked down, she never had anyone tell her that she couldn't die. He wanted her to live, yet in a way she wanted death. She knew that maybe with death she could erase her mistakes. Her mistake of hearing that cry and turning for a split second. She shouldn't have lived, she should've died then. She didn't deserve to live or to be happy or want to be happy and risk someone elses' life. She had enjoyed her time with Painter and a part of her wished she could never leave him. But she didn't want to hurt him, she didn't want him to end up dead or hurt. She remained silent, her head bowed in shame of ever thinking about being happy. Because of her all those people in the academy ended up never to live another happy day in their life. She didn't deserve what Painter was telling her, she was silent.
