Evelynn trudged into the place full of the thing she loved to do most - reading. Fictional stories were decent reads, tales of princesses and happy endings, but she preferred non-fiction, fact, information that could further her knowledge and understanding. She took a liking to the books based on the supernatural and magic.

Walking over to a bookshelf and spotting the book she wanted to read, her entire eyes glowed purple as the book drifted off the shelf and softly into her arms. Folding both arms around the book as her eyes returned to normal, she made her way to one of the tables, placing the book down carefully and taking a seat. Though the library was a silent place, there were still too many people for her liking. She liked to be solitary, lost in the book without outside distractions. Evelynn opened the book to the first page and began to read.

Trent Evensman was sitting at a table using a very old form to write on some papers. An everquill and thick pieces of parchment. He could use the newer stuff but he just preferred this method. His writing was smooth and flowing when using the quill and parchment more the paper and pen. At the moment though something caught his attention from writing his 2nd Bestiary of Outer Realms to the bookshelves. Where he saw a very young girl grab the first book he donated to this library.

'Introduction to Multi-Dimensional Biology' was not an easy book to read for most high schoolers. The thick leather-bound book filled with page on page of parchment describing in the first chapter alone the over arching complexity that was simply put 'life'. And from there on to describing the layout of Alternate Dimensions that he himself had traveled through and the categories he had put them in. Once again his thoughts drifted to it not being easily understood. But here was this younger girl taking a seat on the opposite side of the table from him looking at it with a all encompassing curiosity and hunger.

It seemed to Trent as he looked around the rest of the library that the girl must have chosen this spot for its comparative solitude from the rest of the students. She didn't even seem to register that he was there for the moment. When she opened the book and began to read Trent removed his glasses and put them and his quill down becide his small stack of parchment and watched this young hatching read. Even as he silently watched her finish the introductory pages and begin chewing into the middle of chapter one he spoke up with a very fatherly care, for he saw all the students as those of his family. "I don't want to presume young one. But isn't that book for the upper classmen?" He didn't want to tell her out right that the book was meant for AP highschoolers and College students. Or that he himself was the author yet, for now though he wanted to see how she was going to react with his questioning.

Evelynn took time to read the contents page of the book, a page she never missed. It told her about upcoming aspects of the topic that she could look forward to getting to. Her legs swayed, dangling off the edge of the seat as she read.

After the first couple of pages, a man's voice travelled her way. She just wanted to be left alone and become immersed in the book, not be pestered by people. But her father always told her to be nice and polite to people, or at least try.

Placing her finger at the place she was up to, she looked up to the man. It was true, it was a difficult read, but Evelynn liked to learn. If there was anything she couldn't understand, she would jot it down in her notebook to ask questions on later. That way, anything harder to remember would be on her at all times to refer to. "That age is only recommendatory," she explained boldly but still friendly before tilting her head back towards the book.

Hearing her answer to his question it made him smile a little deeper. Not many students thought of that knowledge was a given and would be fed to them whenever they reach out their hands and expect it to just be there. To few actively sought knowledge of anything in their own universe much less in others. Trent's class of MDMC Biology though had quite the group, it wasn't as popular as he thought it should be. So here he was again looking at this young girl activly reading his work. "That is very true."

He simply watched her for a bit and kept quiet. He wanted to see how she reacted to some more of the book before asking another question. After a few minutes Trent leaned forward and put his elbows on the table and entwined his fingers together. Once she was done with a page and going into the next chapter he spoke up once more. "It seems that you are quite the avid reader young one. May I ask what you think of the subject before you continue. What brought this field of study on you and why you wish to study it? I wish to know just to have a before and after, It's not often that I can ask anyone such direct questions about my book." He didn't feel there was any harm in letting her know now that he was the one that wrote the book. But he waited for her response with a grandfatherly smile, watching this young girl reading his work certainly did ease the weight of his multi-millennia long lifespan that he had lived so far.

Evelynn returned to delving into the book, taking in every word, not skimming over it. She made sure that she understood the information presented infront of her, stopping at intervals to note down anything that she did not.

Turning the page, the man spoke up once again, asking questions. His book? Was the author of the very book she was reading sat in the same room as her? If so, she had so many questions. Usually she would bombard a person with a tsunami of interrogatives but it was her turn to answer questions. She was not used to being on the recieving end.

"It is just the next book alphabetically. It makes sure that I don't miss any of them. This is a very interesting topic. Most of it I understand but there are a couple of things that I will have to read more about," she responded. Her father usually tutored her on top of what she learnt at school but he only knew so much. This man surely knew a lot more on more complex topics.

"Are you Trent Evansman?" she asked bluntly as she read the name aloud from the book, picking it up and moving over to him. She did not mean for the blunt tone to be impolite, it was just the way she communicated - short and simple.

It was an understandable reason to be reading the book, but it did make Trent think back of his days walking with deities when he was younger and Fate was a big talking point then. Though he didn't have much to do with that when he was dating the Avatar of Fertility at the time. But having this young girl just starting to read his book and sit right in front of him. It just made him smile in reminiscent. "Well that certainly is a twist of fate isn't it."

When the young girl asked if he was indeed Trent Evensman he gave a soft nod. "I am indeed young one. I wrote that book and I am the teacher of Multi-Dimensional Magical Creature Biology. Though that is the first book of the course I have written many more before this one. Those all have details on biology on many hundreds of species unique across many alternate dimensions. It was only once I got here did I think to make an education course for the young. Or well... young for me." Trent gave a shrug "Would you like to ask me any questions? I seem to have asked you many but have not given you a chance to ask me."

"I suppose so, if you believe in fate," she responded. Her mind was never fully made up on the matter, preferring solid facts to speculation of an inconceivable force that maps out everyone's destiny. Perhaps she did not like the idea that she did not have full control or freedom in her life, but either way, the idea was percieved as a fictitious notion to offer support and reason.

Listening to the man talk, she was slightly amazed by him. He seemed to know a lot about what he was talking about and had an ancient sense about him. Not the aura you get from your grandparents, but of someone who has seen the world for much longer than meets the eye; in his case: worlds.

She had so many questions about the ethology and physiology of inter-dimensional beings as well as a whole list that she wanted to ask about him. Thinking she would start off small, she asked, "what are you?" in the same blunt tone as she usually spoke in. It may have come across as rude to most people, but she meant it in a polite way. She did not see much need for small talk, it only delayed her from the information she wanted to find out. There was almost no human that lived on the island (well, truly human) and she wanted to discover the reason he seemed like there was more than met the eye.

Trent let out an actual laugh, but keeping it reigned in as they were still in the Library. "Well, I've met some Gods of Fate in my time. So I guess I'm a beliver then." He grinned as he looked at this young girl. "You, little one, are certainly fun to talk to." Trent pulled some of his papers together. "I think this conversation we can carry with us. Would you like to come to my class room? Every book I have written about my travels I have there." He finished putting his papers and writing stuff into a small box near him he cast a rune circle and the box and it's contents to his study.

Standing up he straitened his robes with the smile. "I would like to properly introduce myself properly there if you would like. Some things are a little bit more comfortable to explain in privacy. But lets just say my real form is of a scaled variety."

Evelynn was intigued to find out more about these 'Gods of Fate'; maybe her ideas about the topic were wrong after all. She presumed she was going to pester the man enough with questions without adding in more about fate so she dropped it.

She gave a small small, slightly taken aback by Mr Evensman's comment. Not many people considered her as 'fun'. Dull and nosy, maybe, but never fun. Maybe she'd finally found someone who thought as she did. "Yes please," she replied, hardly taking a second to close the book and scoop it into her arms, standing beside a tucked in chair.

She bewilderedly watched as the box disappeared. It hardly suprised her that Mr Evensman knew some form of magic but it still impressed her. A dragon? That would explain why he had an ancient presence about him and why his true form was of the 'scaled variety'. There were plenty of dragons on the island but none intrigued the girl as much as he did.

It was easy enough to exit the library and to begin escorting the young girl to his class room. The entire way he had a soft sort of grandfatherly smile. Though students signed up for his classes, most tended to just want to use it as an excuse to lounge about and have an 'easy' class to fill a few credits. This girl was genuinely interested in his studies, and that was rare to come by. Once they were away from the more crowded areas of the halls he spoke up. "So if you hadn't already guessed by my little hint I'm a dragon. No use dancing around that matter. I've lived long enough though to know that not every world looks kindly upon knowledgeable dragons such as myself. Hence me being a little secretive about it." He shrugged. He also just didn't want to bother those who prefered to avoid dragons.

"Now, I don't think I've actually heard your say your name. And as soon as we have that worked out why don't you start with a few simple questions that you might have with what you've read so far." He was already really eager to learn what sort of student this little lady would be if she was going to learn all the things he could teach her about the other dimensions and universes.
