A pain had been building up in Jake's throught for the past day. It seemed like everyone around him was getting sick, he hoped he hadn't caught the bug too. He hardly ever got sick. In his life, he probably only fell ill three times, at the most. Lying in his bed, he just stared at the ceiling, not wanting to get up. There was a pounding in his head and it felt like he had swallowed glass.

Slowly rolling out of bed, he rubbed his hand over his face and trailed his fingers through his hair. Putting on the first pair of jeans he could find, he felt an itch on the lower part of his back. As he went to scratch it, he noticed that there was fur. Jake ran to the mirror to inspect it. Just as he thought, there was a patch of fur.

He had definately caught the bug.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. Jake quickly pulled a t-shirt over his head and opened it.

Cassidy lay in her bed, staring at the ceiling. All day she'd been coughing and she had a sore throat and stomach ache. One of the teachers had let her take some medicine but the painkilling effects had worn off now and it seemed to have gotten worse. She sat up suddenly, pulling a pillow into her stomach and leaning over it a little, groaning. Tears started to fall down her face, she'd never had an illness this bad before. Even when she was ill, she'd always had her parents before now to look after her but here there were only teachers and she didn't want to wake them up.

Hugging the pillow a while longer, she waited for the bout of pain to pass. Once it had subsided a little, she stood up and pushed down the hood of her fluffy onesie. It was far too warm to be wearing it but she felt somewhat comforted by the softness. Cassidy walked to the door and opened it, letting the cool air calm her temperature. She wiped her face with the back of her hand, getting rid of the tears and padded down the halls towards a different dorm room. The only other person she really spoke to was Jake. Arriving at his door she knocked lightly, feeling bad about waking him up but not really knowing what else to do.

Opening the door, he saw Cass stood there. It looked as if she had been crying, eyes red and eyelashes in clumps, and he could sense the pain from her sadness. Something wasn't right. Maybe she had got the illness that he was coming down with.

"Aww, Cass, what's wrong?" He knelt down and gave her a hug. "Come in, my roommates are out tonight." Closing the door behind her, he walked over to the kitchen area. He hated seeing people upset. "Want a hot chocolate? It always made me feel better whenever I was ill."

When he knelt down, Cassidy clung to him, trying not to start crying again but sniffing heavily. Even when he stood up she still grabbed his hand, following him to his kitchen. She nodded at the offer of hot chocolate, snuffling. Cassidy had never had it before but it sounded nice. Spotting some fur poking out of his top she quietly asked, "have you got it too?"

Jake started to make the hot chocolate; filling the kettle and making it boil. In truth, he didn't only have hot chocolates when he was ill, he would often sneak into the kitchen in his care home and make a cup.

Turning around whilst the kettle boiled, it took him a second to realise what Cass was on about. "Oh, I think so. Got a bit of a headache and a sore throat," he explained, deciding not to mention the fur growing on his back. "I seemed to have gotten it later than everyone else. Must have caught it from someone after the party."

Cass sniffed again and nodded in response to Jake, fidgeting a little. She still felt like she might be bugging him, even though he was being so nice. She turned her attention to watching him make the hot chocolate. "Does it really help when you're ill? Is it like medicine or does it just taste nice?" She'd never even heard of it before, her old wolf pack didn't really have the money to get treats like this.

Jake finished making the two hot choclolates and brought it steadily over to Cass. "I like to think it does. All the more reason to have more of it," he joked as he placed the hot mug on the counter. What was there to not like about hot chocolate? It was hot chocolate that you could drink!

He pulled out a chair for him and Cass at the table. "So, other than being ill, how's the craic?" he asked, imitating an Irish accent. He was crap at accents but the Irish one he could do decently.

Cassidy scrambled up onto the chair, sniffing again but this time at the hot chocolate. It smelt amazing. She took it in both of her hands and sipped it carefully. It tasted just like melted chocolate. There wasn't really anything else she expected it to taste like but she just didn't expect it to be so good. Cass giggled when Jake imitated the Irish accent, it was actually really accurate, he sounded like he could have been from there himself. "It's okay, I guess. I've been drawing a lot now that there's no school because o-" She stopped, wincing, as her headache sent a sharp pain through her temple.

Jake figured that Cass' headache was bad, but he didn't know what he could give her. They probably had medicine in the cupboard but he had no idea how much to give her or if it was even safe to give it to someone so young. "If ya got a headache, it's probably best if ya have a rest, i think." He didn't sound too convinced to himself but that seemed like most people did when they had a headache.

"I've tried to have a rest. If I could rest I wouldn't be here so early." She looked at Jake, "do you not... I think one of the teachers gave me calpol, do you have any of that? It helps for a little while." She slowly sipped more of her hot chocolate, waiting for Jakes reply and trying to ignore the pain in her head as best she could.
