Private Show me around?

Usually Minnie would wait until after she'd eaten breakfast to go anywhere. She did have a large appetite after all. But thoughts of her sisters had dampened her mood, and the noise and smell of the cafeteria was starting to get to her.

Nodding, she put her book back into her bag and picked up her tray to put it away. "Sure, where'd ya want to head to? Anywhere in particular or just see where our feet take us? I don't have anywhere to be just yet."

"Lord jumping, girl, why don't you make up your mind?" Minnie asked with a grin to let Coral know she was just teasing. "I don't really know though. Like I said, I pretty much just stick around here. At least they've got a nice library." She rolled her eyes, "And now I sound like a total nerd, don't I?"

"We could head to the park. The community center's there if you ever need more company than me. She's a nice place for walking too. And there's some games. Foosball if you're into that." Tactfully, Minnie didn't mention the fact there was also a lending library at the community centre. Some people didn't enjoy reading as much as her.

"Oh - You write?!" Minnie squeaked a little in excitement. "Tell me what kinds of things you write. Short stories? I read more than I writes, but I enjoy both. Are they just hobbies or do you wanna do something with them?"

As she talks, Minnie reaches over to take Coral's arm, if she'll let her, and lead her along to the park. Minnie is so used to casual contact that she doesn't realize she's doing it. Though of course she'd stop if Coral pointed it out.

"Sure, it'll be fun. " Minnie had suggested the park because it was one place where she could pretend things were relatively normal. Unless of course they ran into a dragon or something. But that was a possibility anywhere in this place. "I like the space. We had a decent amount of parks back home. What about you? "

"Wow ambitious! I read more fantasy... or used to. Kinda the same thing here though, isn't it? And I'd love to read some of your stuff. Unless it's the stuff you wrote when you were twelve and completely hates now."

Minnie lead Coral to the park, pointing out any things along the way she thought might interest the other girl. She was still surprised by the wide variety of creatures on the island and figured Coral would appreciate it more than she did. And maybe the dragons flying overhead were kinda cool.

"You thinking of being a journalist here or, y'know, back home?" As much as some topics hurt, like anything to do with her family, Minnie tried not to shy away from mentioning home as a place. Then she could pretend this was just another in a series of moves, that she wasn't stuck here with family that refused to talk to her, living among monsters. "Ah Florida. I'm from Canada. Kinda farther north." she laughed.
