Yesterday, Coral had finally gotten unpacked in her dorm. Today she wakes up to the sun shining in her face. "Ugh why?" She groans and rolls over, sighing she sits up and stretches out her limbs and scratches the back of her neck. Standing up she yawns and walks over to her dresser, pulling out pink jeans and a white t-shirt she walks into the bathroom to change.

While Coral was in the bathroom she was Curling her hair, something she does frequently. As she did she couldn't help but think about her sisters, she wonders how they are doing. How was Lacy handling her senior year? Was she nervous about college? About how this was going to work? How was Rachel handling middle school, was she nervous over how things were gonna go? What about Abby? She's only nine-years-old, did she feel abandoned?

Coral shakes her head of all those thoughts and looks in the mirror, smiling with her appearance, she turns off the curling iron and opens the door walking out into her room and putting on her scarf and shoes before walking out to the Cafeteria. "Hmm what do I want?" She asks herself looking around, choosing to go simple with yogurt, apple, and orange juice she turns around spotting Minnie and smiling. Coral walks over and smiles, "Um, hi, do you mind if I sit here?"

Minnie hated the cafeteria. It was so crowded, and she could practically feel the stares, real or imagined. She didn't like the casual touching, the noise, the jostling for a seat. But most of all she hated the smells, especially how good some of the meat smelled. Of course she could easily avoid anything reserved for people-eaters - cannibals. But it made her feel sick when she mistook that for something tasty.

But a girl had to eat, and at least here she could be as picky as she wanted without comment for the most part. Trying to take her mind off things, Minnie filled her plate with cheesy eggs and plain yogurt, and also grabbed a few cartons of milk. There, as meatless as she could get. Not seeing anyone she particularly wanted to sit with at the moment, Minnie found an empty seat, sat down, pulled a book out of her bag and began reading while she ate.

She glanced up when Coral spoke. Then she put her book down and said, "Go ahead," with a small smile. The other girl's food didn't look appetizing at all, which was good. Minnie wouldn't have wanted to deal with someone else eating meat when she was refusing for the moment. "How are you adjusting to the place?"

Coral is happy that she agreed considering that means that her roommate didn't immediately hate her. She looked at her tray and smiled wondering if she was vegetarian too. Coral hasn't been vegetarian for too long, just a little under three months after the last field trip her sophomore year was to a farm where the animals were groomed for slaughter. She got lost and ended up walking in on a pig pen and well...it was then she decided meat was a no go...unless it was fish.

"Um I'm adjusting okay, I'm glad that the Cafeteria has vegetarian options." She smiled and opened her orange juice, taking a sip. "mmm, I love orange juice, what about you? Anything that drives you crazy?"

She smiles and opens up her yogurt waiting for her response.

Minnie smiled faintly, so much for not drawing attention to her food choices. Sure they were in a cafeteria, but did they really have to talk about what they were eating? She didn't want to be rude though, so she shrugged and tried not to be snippy as she replied, "Nah, not a fan of orange juice. Citrus doesn't agree with me." Minnie hoped Coral would just accept that and not probe too far into Minnie's rather limited diet. She also didn't admit that she wasn't vegetarian.

"Things that drive me crazy? We still talking about food here? Cause I can think of a lot of things in this place that drive me nuts. You probably aren't after hearing me complain, though. Or did you mean that as something I really like?"

Minnie took a couple bites of her eggs while waiting for Coral to answer. It wasn't the same as a nice, juicy steak, but at least she could eat cheese without getting sick, and these eggs were pretty tasty.

Coral notices that she seems a little flustered and decides to change the subject, "Hmm, have you been going to the school long?" She continued to eat as they spoke, she knew this school went all the way from preschool to college and wondered just what this place was like. Did everyone here know one another, or did they all keep to themselves?

Coral was from Florida, she was used to the hustle and bustle of big cities yet she is also used to the quiet of small towns, this place was the perfect balance between a big city and a small town, therefore, she has no idea how close anyone here is to one another.

Minnie noticed the change of subject and didn't mention it, though she was relieved. She had to think a moment before she answered, surprised by how long it had been. "Umm... Maybe a year? I'm not the best at keeping track of time. And this place - she can be nuts. It's certainly something..." Minnie trailed off, eating a few more bites of eggs while she thought.

Then she frowned and shook her head slightly to clear it. "I suppose you're new here? Or did you just get abandoned by an old roomie?" Minnie suspected from the girl's behaviour that it was the former. She had that cheerful attitude of someone still excited about being on a magic island. Of course, Minnie had never had the chance to enjoy magic with her entry being what it was.

"Have you seen much of this island yet?" Minnie wasn't really interested in exploring, herself. The things she had seen just around the school were enough for her, but she felt she should be polite to Coral. The other girl seemed nice enough.

Coral nods as Minnie speaks as she continues to finish off her yogurt. Putting it to the side Coral looks at Minnie. "Um, no I'm a newbie, just got here yesterday, is it that obvious?" Coral Chuckles and looks down to hide her blush as she bites her lip. She had hoped that the "New Girl" title wouldn't have been thrown onto her but she couldn't be more wrong.

Looking up Coral realizes that Minnie had been speaking, "Oh I'm sorry, un no I haven't done much exploring...is there a lot to see on the Island?" Coral had gone right to the academy when she got to the Island she saw it seemed big but didn't know how much of that was exploring worthy.

"um Well kinda yeah. But it was mostly cause you're a new roomie. If I didn't know that... it'd be a little less obvious, possibly." Minnie said with a small laugh. She waved her hand vaguely. "You do seem rather - happy about this whole place. "

"Don't worry about it. I haven't gotten to much places neither. Honestly, I usually stick to the library. I suppose there's some interesting places downtown if you're after something else for entertainment. Or just wanna get out. The beach is nice in the summer. Apparently there's a space station, but I've never been. Lord knows it's crazy enough down here, I'm not about to add in aliens."

Minnie went back to her food, realizing she might've started rambling a bit.

Coral giggles a little as Minnie goes into her rambling fit. She thinks it's cute and endearing that she does that, However, Coral wondered whether or not it was a nervous habit or if it was because that's just how she talked. Coral shrugs figuring that she would have the time it figure all of that out.

Coral sighs and looks at Minnie, "I'm excited because I'm hoping this place is so different from where I'm from...However, if I'm being honest, I really miss my sisters...I have three, they are my whole life."

Coral thinks back to the last thing Minnie said and nearly spit out her orange juice. "I'm sorry, did you say there was a space station here?"

"Different is one way to put it," Minnie said with a wry twist to her lips, "It's certainly.. different. You know that's not always a good thing, right? Besides a lot of the things are the same, except the bullies have magic and you have more people strutting around claiming to be superior." Minnie sighed, maybe she should tone it back a bit and not try to burst this girl's bubble. "But hey, at least the classes are interesting?"

When Coral mentioned her sisters Minnie went still for a moment. Suddenly she didn't feel so hungry. "I've got two..." Her voice was quieter. "Did they take you from your family too?"

Grasping at something to stop her mood from spiralling, Minnie nodded. "Yeah, well it's in space, obviously, but you can take some sort of portal. They have games up there apparently, and some sort of knock off Disney. I don't have the money for something like that though, I'm sure. I'll just keep my feet on the ground."
