It was New Year's Eve; tonight was the final night before the old year ended and the new year started. The new year was time for change, reformation, revolution....and many other things that had absolutely nothing to do with partying one's butt off. Clubs and bars were packed tonight; many adults were out partying tonight. Excessive drinking and fun was in order. People of all races roamed the streets. Among them was a newbie vampire girl known to all as Darcy. Okay, known to most as Darcy. She couldn't help it if her parents named her a lame-oh name like Eleanor.

She was in the middle of the party street trying to navigate her way to the bars. However, it looked more like a block party with how many people were outside dancing and doing silly stuff while music blared from inside the clubs. She recalled dragging her brother with her to go partying, but she uh..she got lost, okay? It was intense and people were going nuts. Not to mention some seemed to be setting up for quite the show tonight. Were there going to be fireworks? That wouldn't surprise her in the least; in fact, she'd be shocked if she heard no fire crackers.

Suddenly some jerk shoved her as she levitated through the crowd and she collapsed onto the pavement. A fight was brewing between two drunk guys that were obviously way too heated and way too drunk for this. She glared furiously as she laid on the ground. Her Rapunzel-length black hair spiraled everywhere.

"Hey, watch where ya going, assholes!"

Everywhere was so crowded he wasn't very comfortable with crowds like this. He was the bookworm of the duo after all. Of course it was New Years Eve and partying was kind of expected, so after a bit of prodding he decided to go out with his sister. If they could just find a bar or club to settle in at everything would be fine. For all the levitating Darcy was doing Blaine was doing a decent job keeping up with her.

"Ouch, you alright?" he asked as he helped his sister up. He really wasn't in the mood to get into it with some random stranger that bumped into his sister too hard. He wasn't saying that he wouldn't help his sister if things turned ugly though. He'd trained enough over the past few months to hold his own in combat.

And there wasn't a fire cracker or anything of the like to be heard. He wasn't sure how to feel about that in spite of the fact that the party didn't seem to be contained to one place. It was everywhere, more on the streets than in any one building. It was going to be a long night, that was for sure. but since he was there he might as well make the best of it.

Darcy was helped up by Blaine. It was fortunate that he kept track of her. She got up; her long hair tangled within the crowd, but soon she levitated once more. Her hair floated and thus moved out of the way. It twisted around her frame as she glanced at her brother. She gave him a fanged smile. If Blaine wasn't around, then she would've been likely to jump into that fight so she could kick the ass of both of those guys. However, she wasn't in the mood to do that with her brother in tow like that. No, it was time to celebrate!

"We should go into that club over there!"

Her finger pointed at one rather close by to where they were standing. There were a lot of people in there too from the looks of it. However, it didn't seem as packed as some of the other clubs, but it was slowly picking up steam. It was time to get in before it got too crazy to enter. She went floating over to the entrance. Of course there was a bouncer right there to card them. The bouncer was a giant alligator man. She debated sleeping with him later. She didn't remember going home with an alligator man.

"Think of it this way. You might find a lady you like out here! After all, loooads of people go out on New Year's Eve!"

At first Pan had no intentions of going out for New Years. They had only just arrived on the island and they were still in the midsts of getting their living situation figured out with Gomph. However, when Pan had woken up that morning, the mood struck. It was New Years and that meant people would be everywhere. What better time to scope out what wonderful people this island had to offer?

Unfortunately, Pan had nearly no clothes. Well, except for what they had come to island with; black pants, black tank top, and a gray scarf. They weren't exactly party clothes and meant that Pan was sort of stuck in their demon form for now. They weren't too thrilled about going out like this but they supposed that on this island it would be safe.

They made their way downtown to the strip. There were so many people bustling about. Pan was very glad that their telepathy only worked when they wanted it to and when they were making direct eye contact, otherwise this would be a living hell. Everyone looked so beautiful tonight. Well, except for the couple of idiots fighting. Why did some people have to be so stupid...

Pan found a club that had enough people in it but didn't seem quite as packed; they were weren't a fan of too many people. Made it harder to find someone wonderful.

They walked it and looked around, their height allowing them to look over most of the crowd. They made their way to the bar and ordered a drink, keeping their eyes out for someone who seemed appealing.

"Oh," Blaine sighed as he more or less followed along with his sister to the club. Clubs weren't really his scene. Granted, he didn't mind small parties they used to have a halfway decent sized circle of friends. But that was back when he was human and back when he was in his comfort zone. It was really just his sister and total strangers and he was beginning to get a strange feeling that his sister was going to try to set him up with someone. She was always up to something it seemed. He'd already convinced himself he was too busy for dating and the like.

"I'll be at the bar," he muttered after taking a quick look at the dance floor. And so the vampire went. One of the nicer perks of Manta Carlos was you only had to be eighteen to drink. He'd probably spend most of the night there. He took a seat at the bar and ordered a simple rum and coke to start things off. He figured whatever his sister decided to do...well, she's just better in this kind of setting anyway. He'd at least think about striking up a conversation with a stranger though he probably wouldn't go through with it.

It was terribly difficult for Pan to find someone who interested them because they never knew until they were actually talking to the person. Of course there were some people who looked more attractive in the general sense at first glance but they knew that looks could be very deceiving. A pretty face didn't always mean a pretty person.

So Pan decided to play a game. It was called "talking to the first person who walked up to the bar". Just as they decided this, a young man walked up and order a rum and coke. A good drink.

Pan turned their attention to the boy and gave a soft smile. They could see the fangs on the boy and smiled a bit more. Vampires were always quite interesting.

"Having a good night?" The voice was just as ambiguous as Pan's face was, sounding neither like a man nor a woman. It was almost alien like but still familiar, calming and clearly friendly. At least, Pan thought so.
