Delaney scrolled through her messages while waiting. With voice commands she opened her texts and listened to them at low volume as Ida went through the line and ordered. She lost track of the time listening to her friend's texts. It was when she ran out of new messages that she wondered where her "guardian angel" went.
She started to call out for Ida, only to realize that she didn't really have her angel's name and felt awkward shouting that out loud. "Maybe they went to the restroom." Dela said to Georgette. "I think I've been a little unfair to her, really." She continued, "All that walking around made me a little grumpy. I didn't even say please and thank you and my pa and ma raised me better than that."
Not long after that little talk she heard someone approach and smiled when she heard Ida's voice. "Aw, thanks!' Delaney manged to grab both her water cup and change with minimal blind flailing. The money was carefully set into her wallet and she finished the whole cup in three huge gulps. "So where'd the staff say the Overflow was?" She asked with no trace of her earlier frustration. "Hopefully not too far from here."
