Shinji is a 5'7 athlete. He only weighs in at about 144 pounds and isn't particularly muscular. Although his looks make him seem weak because of his lack of showing muscle tone, he will sometimes surprise you with his bodily strength and endurance. After all, he was an athlete for most of his life. Looking him in the face, you can see his eyes which are a deep, bright blue. When looking closely, given the chance, you can see the green highlights in the iris of the eye. Shinji is of Mexican ethnicity. His skin appears as tan. He doesn't stay in the Sun too much so it is a rather light tan and is far from the orange that most people get while in the Sun purposely. He often wears long, baggy pants that fit him perfectly around the waist. These pants are long enough to cover the top of his shoes and crinkle a little at the end due to being stopped by the shoes itself. Plain T-shirts of any color is his usual upper body wear as well as a hoody. One may never see him without a hoody. As for the winter time, he wears the same things. He has never worn a coat, he mainly just chooses thicker hoodies. His hair is rather shaggy and partly covers his eyes. His hair stops at the bottom of his neck and never gets any longer than that. He does comb his jet black hair but not very often.

Shinji has always been one to talk to newer people and make friends with them. Most people try to stay away from him because of the awkward stuff he may do. The cause of said awkward things is his always trying to conceal his powers that he discovered when he was about 5 years of age. He isn't a funny person because he doesn't usually crack jokes, but some call him as such because of how he messes up some small things. However, he can stay serious in times of dire need. His concentration can be broken easily and he does seem to have more energy to so things than most. He has never been too good with the ladies so he tends to stay away from anything serious with them. He has never been one to back down from a fight unless he absolutely knows that he will lose. He doesn't use his powers much though because there is never a time where he can just try and concentrate on perfecting his use with them. Although, he has run away from home at times just to practice his powers. He isn't the smartest person in the world either. He is about the average person when it comes to school as well as pressured thinking. English was always his best subject though.
Powers:
Lightning- His strongest ability is the use of electricity but as he likes to call it "lightning for retards." He is able to generate said lightning from his own being through his nervous system. It is proven that the brain sends currents of electricity through the nervous to make bodily functions possible on though, this is the same way. But said currents are amplified when he wants to summon this power. The brain exerts stronger currents of electricity than usual at excessive rates to make it flow from his body. It does take time for him to accumulate said electricity but the better at it he gets, the less time it takes him to generate it. A small addition that he has learned to put to use from this power is the ability to generate electricity through friction. The harder and rougher the surface, the faster it can be made. Either way it is used, though, he may becoming exhausted from over use of this.
**Though Shinji doesn't know the full extent of this lightning attribute, he is learning new things to do with it. What he learns will appear below.**
-Materializing: Shinji has learned to use the lightning to form objects at will. He doesn't know how to use it fully but so far he has managed to make small blades attached to each hand. These cannot last long at all so they may vanish before he finishes his use for them.
-Static cling: Shinji is able to make things cling to him. Mostly, this ability is uncontrollable at times but he has learned to control it to the extent of almost completely making himself cling to anything made of metal (Only metal that do well at conducting electricity.
Partial Healing- His weaker ability is partial healing. This means that he can heal serious injuries of his own body to a certain extent. Gashes or stab wounds may be healed to the point of non-seriousness. Small scratches can be healed completely and scars will be smaller than expected by any doctor or physician. Broken bones will not heal instantly, though. They will take significantly smaller amounts of time to heal but will not heal on the spot. This power comes naturally to him. He doesn't even need to think about it for it to heal. In other words, it happens instantly without worry. Even so, if a wound is bad enough, he can still die, he is not immortal.

He was loved by his parents dearly and they never neglected him nor set him to the side for something else. They always spent time together as well, this meant they played board games, had picnics, went to the park, and so on. They were an average family and everything was perfectly fine. No, Shinji was not rich nor was he poor, he was simply middle class. In school, he was the perfect student. Despite his his average grades, he never got in trouble until one day when he was five years old. It was out at recess, near noon. He as well as the other kids were doing what they normally did. They played on the swings, then played on the slides, they played until their hearts content while they had the chance before they had to go back to school. Well, one day while Shinji was in the grass with a few others, a few older kids came into the playgrounds with them. They seemed to be harmless until they showed their true intentions of terrorizing the kids. The teachers were too busy talking to notice anything that was happening since the playgrounds were usually a safe place to be. Shinji and his friends were sitting in the grass playing with a small bouncy ball that Shinji brought from home. They paid no real attention to the older kids. "Hey guys, look at those little pricks over there." one large boy said to his two colleagues. "Hmm, lets go see what they have for us." Another boy who was rather scrawny said. So as they walked over, the kids, including Shinji looked to them.
Once they had approached them, the biggest boy kicked the little ball of Shinji's into the street. The kids, who were only around the age of five, were in a small state of shock by now. One of Shinji's soon to be best friends was picked up off of the ground by one of the older kids. He was held by his leg upside down. Shinji, trying to be the bigger child here, stood up and started punching him while telling him to let go of him. This only made the situation worse as the older boy who kicked the ball hit little Shinji. This was the action that decided it all. Shinji didn't cry, nor did he seem hurt. Was it the healing ability? It may be but its not proven. But as Shinji stood up, he felt what was almost like adrenaline. It made him feel crazy. He had never felt like this before. But it wasn't adrenaline, it was his body trying to make the currents of electricity flow more and more making him shake. Within moments, sparks of lightning began to form in his hands as he began to punch the kid once more. This time, with every hit placed more lightning within his hands. Eventually, too much lightning had filled into his hands and it needed an outlet. So with one last punch, the lightning was exerted from his body all at once, electrocuting the boy. All that was heard was a loud yell and a thump from the boy falling hard onto the ground. The teachers had finally come and took care of the situation. The boy's body was fine because of the simple fact that it wasn't enough power to actually injure or kill him. From that day forward, Shinji along with the boy who was hung upside down, also known as Tom, and the girl, Jamie, who was also there but only witnessed as all of this happened, never spoke of what they saw. Shinji never even told his parents. He feared what they would have thought of him. The three went on to become best friends and went everywhere with one another. Eventually, by the time he was eight years old, Shinji was able to actually control when he could use said lightning. He hadn't mastered it in the least bit but he was able to control it for the most part.
After a while of going to school with a seemingly normal life style, Shinji received a letter while in high school. The letter detailed how this school called, Starlight Academy, would help in him many ways. They gave an offer that he couldn't refuse in the slightest way. Although it meant leaving his best friends, he knew that it would be best for him. He was able to practice his powers as well as get his rightful education without fault. The first thing he thought of, like most people would, was how much does it cost? In his surprise, he saw that it didn't cost anything at all. This made him jump for joy in his room. Later on that year, he set off to get to said academy. His parents only thought that it was some exquisite and prestigious academy that only excepted the extremely gifted. In a way, that's exactly what it was too. He was looking forward to his stay on the Manta Carlos islands.
