SECTION THREE: Personality
Gruff: Toby tends to be short-winded, reserved, and somewhat abrasive, generally speaking. He doesn't trust in kindness from anyone, especially not those who try to befriend him, and prefers distance and quiet (despite often being found in public social outlets). That said, he's internally a kind soul, and goes out of his way to help those in need.

Turbulent: Externally, he is pretty tense and reacts very strongly to provocation; the kid ends up in fights often, but is surprisingly disciplined with his strength. Internally, he's very emotional, and is having a hard time moving on from past trauma. He's cold, lonely, and terrified of abandonment.

Musical: Toby's only consistent non-violent outlet is music. He's got a great voice and is skilled with the drums, and values his music deeply. Being homeless has limited that, and it causes him a lot of stress.

Quirk: Tobias is very reactive to his environment, seeming to be jumpy and prone to flinching at others' movements. He sometimes mentally age-regresses as a stress response, but usually isolates himself if he feels it approaching.

Core Ability: Do you even lift, bro?
Tobias has incredible strength capabilities, but limited control. Generally speaking, he's a few times stronger than a professional bodybuilder, able to pick up stocked vending machines and throw them a short distance, or bite through wood. However, his strength can flare to monumental levels, usually based on his emotions or sheer accident; in these times, he can bite through and tear apart/punch through sheets of steel, rip out and crush street lamp posts, lift and throw cars/trucks or kick them along like soccer balls, and toss people across football fields. In numbers, this means he can potentially lift upwards of 25,000 lbs. However, because he has so little practice and control, feats of this and similar magnitudes come at a heavy risk for self-injury; as his powers awaken, his endurance should increase. That said, he does naturally have the ability to withstand the majority of his own strength.

Core Weakness: Unstable Powers
For a multitude of reasons, many of Tobias' powers are still in locked and suppressed states, but that doesn't mean they're not brewing beneath the surface. Especially in times of stress, but other times with great effort or total total random coincidence, Toby's extant powers flare to their full potential, or latent powers bubble through to the surface. However, because they are not properly awakened, his body is not equipped to handle them. For example: punching through a steel door might break his fingers/hand (or even his arm), or momentary bouts of shifting (when it comes time) may be excruciatingly painful. When his powers finish waking, this weakness will change or be removed.

Tobias doesn't know anything about his origin, other than he started off unwanted and never really moved past that. He was abandoned at a hospital in a small town, taken in by a group home, and adopted by a nice couple within 6 months. However, his powers began emerging around age 5, including his strength and turbulence, which led to home turbulence and eventually physical+emotional abuse. It also led to school violence and bullying.

Toby was nearly expelled several times (and actually expelled once) for fighting, until middle school, where he began keeping his fighting mostly off school grounds. He made his first and only true friend, a terminally ill girl named Ella. Toby fell in love with her, and she taught him to accept his LGBT+ status (even though he's still afraid to express it due to bullying). The two remained inseparable until she passed away the summer before 9th grade. He still lives for her. When she was gone, Tobias reacted poorly to his grief and began committing petty crimes and abusing substances (alcohol, weed). His parents began kicking him out periodically. He fell into some bad, manipulative crowds — more on this later.

In sophomore year, he saw his first unmistakably supernatural being while shopping with his mother. She freaked out and she became convinced he was sick; he was put on antipsychotic medications. Bullying became so bad he was being followed home. Grades slipped severely due to insomnia, stress, and being unnecessarily medicated.

In junior year of high school, one group befriended him as a "joke" (form of bullying), he dated a girl, she pressured him into drinking too much at a party (while on substances and an antipsychotic), assaulted him + took virginity, then dumped him the next day. Photos she took proceeded to circulate around a large portion of the school. He shut out his friends and began flushing his medications. A few months later, someone found out about Toby's home life and used it against him in a fight. Toby lost control and sent the kid to a hospital on a ventilator. Within a week, he was at a group home — kicked out with no return.

Tobias hopped between group and foster homes for a while, until he ended up with a lady named Peg who just let him do what he wanted until he could leave. She was Awakened, and identified his strength as a supernatural ability. She helped validate the few supernaturals he'd seen. He worked odd jobs and saved up for a cheap old car; she gave him a little money, too. Toby thought she was nice enough, but just a roommate until he turned 18.

On his 18th birthday, Toby hopped in his car and drove, unsure what he was searching for until he hit Starlit Avenue. He felt compelled to stay, and this became validated when he noticed how many supernaturals were lurking around.

SECTION THREE: Personality
Friendly Introvert: Holiday is definitely a quieter individual, and keeps his personal matters private. However, he does enjoy the company of others, and is particularly fond of those who can enjoy his particular breed of humor. Despite keeping both a physical and metaphorical distance from others, he's actually a bit touch-starved, and would be very physically affectionate if someone gained his trust. Holli likes to do favors for others and listen to them chatter.

Snarky: Holli is a bit gruff in a snarky sort of way, and speaks sarcasm as a second native language. He's a bit cynical both for humor and as a general way of experiencing life, and enjoys giving people shit (especially for petty things). He likes causing petty trouble, as long as there's no real risk of consequence. He's a joker though, doesn't really mean people harm.

Determined: Holli is naturally stubborn, but his life experiences have left him achingly determined to succeed. When he sets his mind to something, he goes all in. This has left him with a long list of skills, made longer by his quick learning abilities. It has also lent him strength of character. Though bruised and battered as he may be, Holiday is determined to wash away the pain of his past and reclaim his life and his freedom. He can only hope that his master never finds him.

This ability, though not inherently supernatural, is nonetheless of extraordinary and artificial nature. Holli was created with peak human flexibility, to the point that even his bones are somewhat flexible. He also has x2 human reflexes and a cat's uncanny ability to always land on his feet.

Bonus: Healing Potion
Stolen from his home. One small vial of rare “instant-heal” liquid. When injected/inhaled/ingested/absorbed, it heals the body of all injuries, without scarring or after effects, in under 10 minutes. Pain can linger for up to 3 days. One drop for superficial injuries, two drops for major/life-threatening injuries, and three drops for otherwise fatal injuries (if used before death). Bottle contains 50 drops, or 2.5mL. Bottle is enchanted ornate silver and indestructible until empty. Liquid is dark blue, opaque, and sparkly. Doesn’t heal existing scars. Can be reverse-engineered but requires both magic and tech.

Core Weakness: I Do What I Want
Holiday, at the end of all things, is cat-like. And as a cat, he sometimes experiences... urges. Hey, mind out of the gutter, there! Holli's urges primarily come in the form of chaos-making. He is very easily distracted by shiny or fast moving objects, has a fascination with strings, craves obnoxiously high perches, and feels a compulsive urge to chase lasers at even the most innappropriate times. All beverage glasses are at risk of demolition. Additionally, he is also highly prone to 3AM zoomies and belting the song of his people up dark stairwells. Cardboard boxes call to him on a spiritual level, while water repels him; spray bottles are supereffective. If these things interfere with relationships, productivity, or professionalism, then so be it.

Chad's always had everything handed to him, to the point that he's never had a single problem, ever, in his entire life. Really. He has it all, right? Smarts, looks, money, and a perfect family: married parents, a loving big sister, never less than 2 dogs and a personal pony each. He got his first Corvette on his 16th birthday, crashed it a week later, and got another. There's never been a single night that this kid went hungry or worried about money. And, socially, what's more to say? He was quarterback at his private high school, and got into his choice college on the team. He decided it... wasn't for him, though, and decided he wanted a gap year. And a gap year he took, touring the whole world, trying out different cuisines and experiences from the lap of luxury, only to head up to Polaris Point at his father's recommendation. During his travels, Chad kept to the touristy areas, of course; couldn't be seen with the dirty and the poor. They'd probably murder him or something. Yeah, he really had it all, huh?

No need to talk about the rest of it, I guess. His angelic father, absent most of the time with work, spending money to buy his love every time he missed Christmas. His succubus mother, hidden away from perceptive eyes or charmed to look like somebody else, bored with her house-chained life. Her new lover every week that she never bothered to hide. The empty bottles of liquor, and the stern, strict hand of his father. The drinking, age 12, the weed at 13. The time he flunked out of college, lost his scholarship from drugs, and took a his gap as a last resort. The bruises from the confession that lasted for weeks, and being sent to Oregan to get his shit together.

His sister's swollen belly, she was 16, he was 14. The paid off doctors, the secret nephew he saw once and never again, the paid off boyfriend she never saw again. The haunting, damning songs of the church, the melody to his life, and the rituals, the blessings, to save him and to save his mother and sister and rid them of their curse, no matter the cost. The one time someone found him out-- found out his mother, sister-- the faint, awful screams from the basement, the feel of his father's hand dragging him down to watch, the blood, the tears, the smell of chemicals that lingered for weeks. The stricken maids with strangely stained hands, the knocks at the doors of eerily cooperative cops, the--

Bonus: Corrupted Windows
His eyes function as a miniature window into the unfathomable. Currently, this is quite limited, and is a barrier that no one can cross completely. However, staring into his eyes for more than a glance reveals swirling pits of darkness, and glimpses of moving tentacles and things. Look longer than three full seconds and the person is exposed to the sight of the unfathomable , of indescribable monsters that would gladly destroy and consume every element of reality as we know it. It immediately causes great fear and trauma, and nightmares for a few days. If a daring individual were to look into his eyes for a full five seconds, the abominations would begin to feed on their soul energy. The poor sap would feel their very essence being gnawed away, and would lapse into brief insanity until they look away. A minor psychotic break would follow, lasting a few minutes before the person recovers, and they would experience eldritch nightmares for weeks. Gazing into his eyes for a full thirty seconds, by the way, would cause psychosis lasting a few days, 60 seconds for a few weeks, 90 seconds for a few months, and 120 seconds would cause indefinite madness. If combined with his core ability, the effects of the core ability take precedence; they do not stack.
