Lynn just nodded to Tree Dad's words and just kept focusing on the feeling and her mental image of being a centaur. The glowing also started to get a little brighter which was something Lynn yet to noticed. Well they probably didn't notice the glowing but they did notice one thing new. Lynn's body actually started to shift and change F I N A L L Y. It was a slow process since this was their first time but it was happening!

They tried to hold all their excitement in and just keep it focus on the warm fuzzy feeling they had. Lynn didn't want to up and lose focus and mess up the shifting, nope nope. That would be the most upsetting. They just sat there and let the shifting happen, wasn't going to try and force it.

Then finally it was complete. Well the partial shifting was complete. Lynn was now a majestic white centaur that had....wings. Wait why did she have wings? They weren't even her normal wings nor even on her normal body. By now Lynn had their eyes open and was just trying to check themselves out.

Henghai had to force down his excitement. Somehow, seeing a child experience their first shifting never got old to him. It wasn't something he himself enjoyed, but he enjoyed seeing milestones in action. It was like when Arjean first started flying.

While Lynn tried to check themself out, Henghai frantically tried to pull out his phone from his bag. "Want me to take a picture? When you said a horse, I didn't think you meant a pegasus. I'm impressed, really. You went far beyond what I impre—" Henghai let out an excited gasp—"Can you fly?" This may really be like when Arjean first started flying.

Lynn nodded excitedly. "Yes! You can take a picture!" They were all giddy inside that they even managed to shift. It brought them much joy that they did but Henghai did point out something kinda weird? Well Lynn wasn't sure if it was weird or not, just something completely unexpected. "Oh, I meant a horse. I am not sure why my wings changed. Is this normal?"

When the question of flying came in, Lynn glanced at Henghai. Well yeah they could fly, that was like baby stuff. They just wasn't sure if they could fly like this. The wings were bigger and different and they were sure there was some added weight from their horse half. "Um, I do not know? This is a bit different from normal?"

Is this normal? Henghai definitely didn't think so, but for all he knew, this could have been normal for Lynn's people. "I can't say for certain, but considering your father, we should have expected some surprises. Your shape-shifting may just be a bit more unstable since you're still learning.

"Nevertheless, I don't advise you immediately start flying. Walk and get a feel for the body, do some stretches with your new wings and figure them out, then try taking it easy when you fly. Stay near the ground."

After his lecture, he took a few pictures of Lynn from different angles, then showed them to them. "This is really amazing. Even if this is a result of unstable shifting, your form looks very stable so far." Though he had his worries that if Lynn moved too much or started doubting themself, they would shift back to normal.

Lynn looked a bit worried when Henghai used the word unstable. What did that mean? Could something bad happen to them if they tried to shift anymore or stayed in this form too long? Henghai didn't look too worried about it though so Lynn decided it was probably not something to get worked up over yet. "What is the difference between a stable shift and unstable shift?" They asked curiously and not because of the bit of worrying.

It was probably a good idea not try flying first like Hengai said. Lynn had to first get used to this form. It was weird having more legs than usually and as the tried to walk their legs seemed a bit shaky. They didn't have good balance but Lynn was able to keep themselves from falling which was probably a good sign?

Now that thought about it, their body felt a bit lighter than usual. Which was odd considering their lower half just became the size of a horse. "Oh, am I supposed to feel this light? Is that normal?" They questioned as they looked at the pictures Henghai had took, smiling happily at what they saw.

Henghai was quick to see Lynn's worry and give them a gentle smile. "When I think of an unstable shift, I think of someone who has trouble staying in one form. For my people, it's common for the younger ones to partial shift or completely shift when they become emotional. That's unstable. It's a natural part of learning. Like how your walking is not balanced."

Lynn's second question came to Henghai almost immediately. It was simple logic to him. "It makes perfect sense to me. You have wings, so your body needs to be light enough for them to support you during flight. A light body means you can have high jumps and be agile in the sky."

Lynn listened carefully to Henghai words as he explained things. So there may be a chance that they could accidentally shift due to their emotions. It sounded concerning but it also didn't sounds like anything too bad, not as bad as what Lynn was thinking anyway. That was just going to be something Lynn would have to look out for and pay attention to later.

"So a light body is a good thing?" That's what it sounded like anyway. Lynn was used to being able to fly but their body was never as light as this. It kinda made sense now that Lynn thought about it after Henghai explained, they imagined it would be harder to fly if they were a little too heavy for their wings.

Lynn started stretch out their wings which was....way larger than they initially thought they were. It felt a bit odd and different compared to the butterfly wings they were used to having. They gave the wings a few flaps so they can get a feel of what they were working with. They reaaaally wanted to fly but it was probably best to do what Henghai said and just tried to ease into things.

Henghai had to force down his feelings of jealousy. He missed his feathers. He missed his wings. But he also had lingering jealousy from when he had wings. How small and useless they were since he was made to be on the ground. And now he had to see Lynn have giant, beautiful wings and be proud of them.

He kept his gentle look and gave a few claps. "This really is amazing. Try just walking for now. How about walking from one tree to the other? See how many trees you can pass before you get tired. By the way, after this, I can collect some good videos on stretching wings as a cervi—um, a centaur. I'm sure I can find some old videos from my home."

"Just from tree to tree then?" Lynn nodded and then proceeded to take a few slow and careful steps foward. They were trying to keep themselves steady as they slowly progress from tree to tree. Lynn seemed to be getting a bit more control with each step they took. "And I would like to watch those videos whenever you have the time to get them for me."

It was still weird having more than two legs to control but they was able to find a rythem eventually. By now they had passed five trees before turning back around and headed back to Henghai.
"This is getting a bit easier, it still feels weird but I think I can get used to it!"
