Private shadows follow you

Marian grinned at him, hiding away any of her more questionable plans. "It's super cool around here; even for someone from the city, Manta Carlos is beyond cool than any of the city outside," she told him, lightly patting his arm. "I'll even be your personal map until you've gotten used to the ins and outs of the city." She was confident of how much she'd learned the twists and turns of the city -- by now she'd already found secret passages she could easily slip into to get anywhere. The shade thought to herself, trying to remember which potion that was. She'd heard of it, but she'd never tried it for herself -- mostly because she didn't really think it would be useful any time soon. "I think the shop might have one of those," she said. She would have to ask the staff about it to be sure. At Rowan's question though, she fell into thought. "Honestly, I haven't tried any potions because my brother thinks I could get in trouble," she started, not giving any other detail why her brother would think it trouble. A little smirk crept into her features, "There's a potion that lets you temporarily swap bodies with someone. I hear it's hard to get your hands on one, but I'd definitely get one if I could."

"Oh, gee, don't sweat it. What are friends for?" Marian grinned at Rowan, and boy, it would have been so comforting, if it didn't entail the fact it was coming from Marian. It wasn't like she was plotting something dastardly at the moment. (Or maybe she was, but it wasn't detailed yet.) So for her, that grin was as friendly as grins could get. The duo entered the city, greeted by the growing chatter from the afternoon crowd. There were a few people walking about that they'd run into, and the roads were certainly less busy, but nonetheless, it always made her feel at home. With a skip in her step, Marian took Rowan's hand making sure she didn't lose the guy just as they entered the city. "It's this way!" It probably took a few minutes of walking, but the pair eventually reached the shop. The place stuck out like a sore thumb with a rather medieval-looking design right next to buildings of modern design. Finally, Marian let's Rowan's hand free so she could open the doors, stepping inside first a belling ringing overhead announcing their entry. Marian held the door open, gesturing Rowan to enter. "Here we are! Come on in. "

Marian smiled watching the boy look with interest through a shelf filled with bottles. After a while, she comes near him, looking through the shelves as well trying to look for something interesting. "Like I said, never tried any," she told him, moving to another shelf to browse through its contents. "My brother has an eagle eye and while I can somehow sneak other things from him, potions are off limits for some reason." Marian laughed, as if it was such a normal thing to point out. A moment later, she poked her head from the other shelf, waving a small bottle that had a translucent, orange liquid on it "Anyway, yeah, I've only tried the temporary ones that changes minor stuff like this, so they're not really anything to brag. It usually just changes hair color or something else. I know there's one that gives butterfly wings but I forgot where it is!"

Marian laughed, trying to picture Rowan sporting a pair of butterfly wings and crashing into a tree. While that would be fun to see, she'll save that idea at a later date. Maybe not on Rowan, he looked banged up as he does to have him crash into a prickly tree. She might feel bad about that. "I guess I can say same to that -- I'm as earthbound as most humans since I was born, I'd probably fly into a wall." Rowan threw her a question and she looked back at him for a good second before she smiled cryptically. "No particular reason. I just thought you looked approachable," she said. Though it wasn't the real reason, she wasn't quite lying. Despite the suspicion she had that this guy had dark secrets up his sleeve, he also seemed like a nice person, which vaguely reminded her of someone else she'd met. Setting that thought aside, she looked at the bottle she took with her. "Oh, right this one." She took it from a row of bottles that she was sure were temporary spells but she didn't check the label. After reading it, she ended up laughing as she tried to say. "T-this one... turns you into a cat."
