Shadows aren't afraid of the light

"maybe you just need to add soap" he said and then cracked a smirk. he chuckled, knowing what he said was really stupid and a bad joke. he crossed his arms and said "yeah...Dymond i guess is alright...but it is a real word spelled wrong, just to make it sound more exotic i guess" he shrugged. he sighed and scratched his head and looks at the clouds "...do you come here often?" he asked.

one of the worst pick up lines was 'do you come here often', and it wasn't even on purpose. he smirked at this and cleared his throat. he sniffed and awaits Shinese's answer.

Shirese laughed quietly, almost looking surprised at herself afterwards. She shrugged at his next comment, tilting her head back to stare at the sky. "Exotic's ok... I mean, I'm not exactly one to judge. Shirese..." She grinned over at him, wrinkling her nose slightly.

She laughed again, nodding and stretching her slightly stiff legs out in front of her. "It's my favorite place in the school, I think. Mostly because no one else seems to like it..." She raised her arms above her head in a yawn, looking over at him curiously. "And what's a nice boy like you doing in a place like this, anyway?"

"I needed a quiet place to sit and listen to music...and be in deep thought" he said. he looks to his side and says "and to tell the truth...a little bit hoping for someone to come here and talk with...stupid way to meet someone...but i was lucky i guess" he shrugged. he places his hands on his waist "why does a pretty girl like you do here instead of being with friends like i usually see...you're too pretty to be alone" he said.

Shirese blushed in spite of herself, scooting back so she was leaning against the wall. "I wouldn't exactly say you were lucky... I'm not extremely pretty, interesting, or... Well, for that matter, sane." She bit her lip, cocking her head to the side. "People say I want to remember too much, spend more time in the past then the present." She shrugged, frowning lightly at the door she'd come through. "They'd do the same thing, if they were me."

She stood up, leaning dangerously over the side of the building and staring down at the tiny people milling around below them. "Why are you a student?"

he looks down and said "memories are nice...and remembering too much isn't so dangerous as long as it doesn't devour you" he looks at Shirese's position as she watches over people. He wished he had memories of his real parents, at least knowing what they look like. Memories were important to Dymond too, he wished he had the memories a normal human being would have, not the nightmarish ones he has because of his dark gift.

He smiled softly and blinks "Because I chose to come here...I no longer had a place in my last home" he looks at Shirese's hair, admiring how well taken care it was, it looked silky and perfect "Besides, i needed to go out and meet new people, rather than just the ones at my last home" he shrugged. he stretches out and rests one foot on the edge of the roof, looking out at the people l;iving their own lives.

Shirese nodded softly, toes gripping at one of the skinny alcoves they'd put in the concrete every few feet. The wall came up just below her waist, and she put her arms down to steady herself lest she join the students down below. And she didn't want that, no, not when she had someone interesting to talk to.
She turned to glance at the boy behind her, hazel eyes suddenly gone dull searching out the twin orbs of red that she was for some reason entranced by. "I didn't choose. They still wanted me, but everyone else said it wasn't good to stay there, that here I could use my powers for good." She made a scoffing sound from deep within her throat, her skin turning the dappled grey of the concrete to rend her almost invisible as it always did when she was upset. "I've hardly used them at all, good or no."

She smiled down at Dymond, eyes slowly regaining their shine. "How long have you been here?"

He watches and listens to Shirese, hoping she wouldn't leave as she appeared to. He smiled softly as she turned her gaze to him. he sits on the edge of the roof near Shirese and brings his knees to his chest. he whips his head back to move his hair from his face, his ruby eyes stared aimlessly into the horsizon.

"how long?...a week...i'm pretty much new, i still dont know the entire school yet" he shrugged and gave Shirese a small smile.

She nodded, baring her pointed teeth in a makeshift grin. "I've been here a month, and I still don't know my way around." She leaned backwards until she was as far as her arms would let her go, smiling at her grayish blond hair that had slipped over her shoulder and was reaching for the ground. "But that's probably because I spend too much time hiding up here, not enough exploring."

Shirese pulled herself up, staring intently at something on the ground and finally dropping down to sit next to Dymond. "You've powers, then?" She tilted her head curiously, hair softly swaying in the breeze.

he smiled, she didn't know much of the school either. he sighed and watches Shirese sit next to him "well...I am what is called a Shadow Spectre" he looks straight and thought. he smiled again and looks at Shirese, then he melted into a shadow and sinks into the ground, then rises up to be sitting next to Shirese but this time on the other side. "I can do much more than just being able to turn into a shadow and move anywhere" he shrugged. "But I'll show you more if you stick with me more....what of your powers?...."

Shirese's eyes went wide, and without thinking she turned to the spot where he appeared a few seconds later. "Amazing..." She breathed, smiling softly.
"Well, I suppose I'll have to stick around you, if it's the only way you'll show me." She announced loftily, but it was obvious she was pleased that he'd want to see her again, and she allowed a shadow of a smile to pass over her face.

"Mine? I'm like a ninja." She laughed softly, knowing there was a bit of truth in that. "I'm agile, I'm quiet, and I can kill 'ya so quick you wouldn't even feel it." She bit her lip, shaking her head suddenly and pushing her gun away. "Not that I would.

"I can read the future, sense movements, and I can blend in to things so well I might as well be invisible." She shrugged, not liking to talk about it, list her long string of powers.
