She wasnt even sure which street was which, they all looked the same and their names didn't say anything to her. Scirheah felt her head spin and at this point she was just desperately hanging onto the map app on her phone.
Normally Scirheah would've treated a situation like this as an adventure and would've done whatever felt right. If some street had brighter colours, less people or had a better scent than the others she would've taken that one. Or if the situation called for it she would've teleported back to the dorm and given up.
But that wasn't an option now. Scirheah was meeting someone so backing down was out of the question! Well, if it had been Erione or one of her other close friends she could've given up, they would've understood. But the person Scirheah was meeting was Fang, a new friend she had made, and even Scirheah realized bailing when you had just gotten to know someone was beyond rude. And Fang was really nice and Scirheah liked him so she didn't want to upset him. Thinking about hanging out with Fang cheered Scirheah up a bit and she started skipping, smiling cheerily.
But Scirheah still wasn't sure how they had agreed to work out together...
Not once in her life had Scirheah voluntarily worked out, and all the other times she had been made to do so. Scirheah had the kind of disposition where her fast metabolism assured she didn't gain weight even if she ate herself silly. So Scirheah stayed thin even if she spent days inside eating nothing but junk food. That had been yet another reason for some of the other young gods, especially girls, to bully her. Thinking about that made the skip in Scirheah's step disappear and her expression turned sullen as she looked down at her phone screen. The map app assured her that she was at the meeting spot soon, and Scirheah shook her head in order to swipe away the gloomy thoughts. No one here hadn't bullied her yet, and Erione had assured Scirheah that most people were nice. And if it came down to it Scirheah could shake any insults she received off...hopefully. Scirheah wanted to think she was strong enough to do that but it still hurt...
Scirheah bapped her own cheek and huffed. She would not be depressed now! It was unfair towards Fang, to make him deal with her depressed self. So Scirheah stomped the memories of bullying and her fears down and looked down at her t-shirt. It was a french bulldog on a skateboard with a cap and funny sunglasses. Just looking at it made Scirheah giggle and she felt better. She didn't continue skipping, but she had her cheery smile again as she turned the corner and a flash of red caught her eye. Scirheah's smile widened a bit and she waved widely at Fang, who was waiting for her. Scirheah jogged the rest of the way to him, which was a mistake since even that was enough to make Scirheah a bit out of breath. She desperately tried to hide it as she smiled up at Fang and typed on her phone's text to speech app. It repeated her words in a monotone female voice.
"I'm a bit late, sorry. All the streets are so confusing and I walked into dead ends couple of times."
