She gingerly stepped in, smoothing her dress down. She felt like a lady in this dress, it was white with small lace snowflakes on her shoulders and running down her transparent sleeves and was randomly dotted on her dress petticoat underneath. A hidden layer, the final detail to the dress.
Max had only decided a short time ago to wear a dress and it wasn't going to be as elaborate as this but as much as she felt feminine, she had made too much of an effort with the whole winter theme. She was here to hand the present over and then go. Zachary probably didn't want to talk but she had to explain the reason why she had gone out and bought three presents with her. She hadn't gone full-blown girl shopping in a long time and strangely she enjoyed it because she didn't gain the most out of it. That was what she most nervous about, having to explain. She walked over to the wall and made sure that she was giving her present to the right person and waited patiently, tapping her foot on the floor. Counting. Counting her nerves.

Zachary stepped into the classroom carrying a rather large duffel bag with the gifts he had gotten for.. whoever he was giving gifts for. Other than a list of modestly vague items he had managed to put things together and gather what he needed. As he walked into the classroom he set the duffel bag down on a desk and took off his trench coat. Beneath it he wore a black enzo tovare suit with a black inner shirt and black suit coat. A crimson tie hung from his neck, ruby cuff links, and an obsidian tie clip.

The duffle bag he had contained three presents in it, one he had purchased/ had commissioned, one of them he had made himself, and the third he had traveled through the spirit world to get. The last was most enjoyable one because he hadn't gotten to run through other worlds in a long time and it had brought him joy to converse with the being that had given him the gift that he was now about to give to her.

He didn't notice her until after he had set the bag down, and when he did he was stunned. She was beautiful, especially in the dress that she now wore. He was glad now that he had worn the suit, he didn't feel under dressed for this meeting.
"I'm Zachary... and who might you be?" He said with a bow..

"I'm Max. Just...just Max," she stuttered nervously. She was stunned by the man in front of her, he was very gentlemanly. She fumbled for her skirts and curtsied a little clumsily but she tried even so. He was amazing, she thought she was ridiculously overdressed because it was just an event. He was formal and she felt like a Christmas pudding in icing. However, she was so skinny that it was hard not to miss her bony, piercing shoulder blades.

She watched him take of his trench coat with grace, breathing in the details and soaking them up. Flawless. It was flawless. It was like he made no mistake and Max felt terrible for thinking this, 'What happens if he thinks I like him?' she panicked and calmed her breathing. She clenched her teeth slightly to make her feel stronger than she was.

Max was surprised that he also had brought three presents along, she didn't really need anything but she kind of did. Not to be greedy but to feel accepted in the community and to show herself to other people. To learn new things. She was curious about things like this and Zachary looked curious.

He smiled and opened the duffel bag after she introduced herself.
"Pleased to meet you." He responded, looking back at her from the bag. His experiences with Trini had given him a little bit of practice with nerves in social situations but he was still a little bit off.
"I'm not extremely used to the whole secret Santa thing but I do hope you like what I got you." He explained as he handed her the first gift.

He chose the one he had gotten commissioned first. The package was square, wrapped in a delicate black cloth with a pyramid symbol embossed in red. Inside was the real treasure. The box contained the book of Osiris "Normandi Ellis" or the book of the dead. While the originals had been pages of papyrus, he had gotten them bound into a book. He was proud of the commission and while it had been difficult, hopefully it would be appreciated. It was, however, in its original ancient egyptian... Reading it would be up to her.

"The cloth is Egyptian Cotton. I hope you like the... thing." He added as he held it up. Of course the fabric it was wrapped in had been meant as a nod toward what it was but he hadn't counted on his secret Santa exchange person being an attractive, if not skinny, girl of approximate age. He glossed over the fact that he was kind of intrigued.

She accepted the gift and took note of the neatness of it all. The black cloth was wrapped beautifully around the object and she loved it. She would have liked to have been there all day, tracing her fingers over the delicate cloth, but the anticipation had taken over her and she unwrapped it.
She gasped, a beautiful little box was held beneath and she held it in her thin fingers and opened it. A book. She loved books, but even she knew there was something different, admiring, ancient about it. Her fingers began to shake, she wanted to open it but it was so lovely that she didn't want to break it or bend the pages. She also wanted to close the box and never look at it in case it broke but she peeled the cover back.
Inside where strange drawings up and down the page. She turned the next page. And the next. They were on every page. She was intrigued and so she wanted to understand.
"It's beautiful," she murmured dreamily at this wonder she owned, "I love it. Thank you."

Max pulled out one of the presents she had found for him, but they were nothing as special and unique as hers was. She felt a twang of guilt inside her because it looked like Zachary had traveled until the ends of the Earth for these gifts and she had just ventured into town but added a little touch of Max.
It was a small package wrapped in several sheets of tissue paper. She hadn't known what kind of colour to choose, so she chose a silver because it was simple but added elegance to it. Inside was a silk tie that she had chose because of the beauty and originality of it. It was myseterious. In the back, where the label of the brand was, she had embroided in horse hair (she prayed that he wasn't vegetarian, he was so slender) "Love to Zachary, from Max".

Zachary smiled as she handed him the box he unwrapped the tissue paper slowly, denying his instincts this time to just tear it off, and looked at the tie inside. It was silver, a color he had come to associate with something deadly, but he had also learned to respect it and most wise members of his kind did so as well. It was perfect! He turned the tie over in his hands and looked at the label, the scent wasn't familiar to him, but he figured it to be some kind of animal hair and good brands used that for their wares.
"It's perfect! I've been looking for a tie and I never would have thought to use silver. Thank you!" He said with a huge smile. More than she probably understood it was the perfect symbol of individuality for him and he couldn't believe his luck.

He reached into the bag grabbing the package he had made. The paper he had wrapped it was just regular brown paper, but the object was made of animals he had hunted down as a wolf, and Japanese spring steel that he had farmed, kilned, separated, and forged though for this purpose it wasn't as long as it would have been for a sword.

What he had crafted was a bow, the wood was bamboo, layered with horn that had been soaked in silver-vine sake to soften it so it could be shaped and made malleable, between the bow and the horn was a layer of spring steel to increase the draw back strength but in so doing, increase the force from the arrow. The package itself was square as he had added locking hinges so that the bow would fold to be more concealable. The hinges were spring steel to accommodate for the decrease in pull and it had all been polished with a recipe his master had taught him using animal fat and certain herb and flower oils.

The package in this case was also square and within it was another package with a number of bow strings he had also made from animal tendons or bamboo flax.
"I made this a few years ago, but wasn't sure what to do with it. I thought it might interest you."

"Oh my," she gasped in pure shocked delight. She hugged to herself and didn't want to let it go, she loved it so much. She could feel like a tendril reaching around the bow and claiming it solely hers. She cherished it and grinned stupidly. She studied it quickly before glancing at him and ruffling around to give him his next present.

This time it was a small box tied with a blue ribbon with tiny silver glittered snowflakes decorated on. Max hoped that Zachary hadn't taken notice of the running theme of silver, even though it was what she thought of being the height of sophistication in a colour. The box was gold and thin but sturdy card as to not lose the contents of the box. Max had extreme trouble in not devouring every single one of them, so she had to buy another for her to gobble later and it was worth it. She wanted Zachary to think that too.
Inside the box was some chocolates (everyone liked chocolate right?), but they were the fancy chocolates, and Max thought that everyone at Christmas should feel like they can lose themselves a bit and what's a better way of losing yourself in pure cocoa heaven? Each chocolate was different and looked unique. She had got them from an independent little Belgian chocolate and patisserie store and the smells that she experienced just holding the box were divine. She wasn't sure exactly what to get so she attempted to get a little bit of everything: truffles, ganache, champagne chocolate, milk, white, dark, you name it she had it in there.

She handed it over and watched him untie the bow of ribbon she had wrapped around it even though the man at the counter had offered to do it for her. She wanted the independent joy of doing it herself, it would make her feel like it was something of her she was giving him.

When Zachary reached for the box he made sure not to show any signs of discomfort. So far the things that were silver colored rather than actual silver and he was appreciative of that. He kept himself from wincing as he took it. He was glad that in human form he didn't have his wolf senses naturally but to his human nose the chocolates smelled delicious. He had heard tale told of other Garou not being able to handle eating chocolate, luckily he was not one of those. He opened the box and inhaled deeply, resisting the urge to eat one right then, difficult though it was.
"Thank you! I actually love chocolates, but it seems like forever since I've had any, it's perfect." He said earnestly, taking the box and putting it next to the one with the tie. He had a smile as he reached into the bag to pull out the item he had gone into the spirit world to retrieve.

He had ventured deep into the umbra, crossing fairly dangerous territory and forgoing the necessary time it would have taken to converse with spirits and learn the gifts they had to offer, he instead went all the way to the realm of flux where creatures thought extinct still existed and chaos ruled. The very spirit of the wyld was what powered the entire place and he went there to gather dragon scales. Despite this he had been unable to get any dragons to agree to allow him to take their scales so he had settled for the hide of a manticore which he had tracked down and killed as a matter of an honorable hunt.
" This one was fun to get. I hope you enjoy it." He said as he handed her the package wrapped in a giant leaf he had also taken from the flux realm.

He was fairly impressed with what she had gotten so far, it was like she had anticipated the things he would like even though the chocolate hadn't been on the list. She was good. A mental smile crept into his head as he thought of something fairly mischievous, or fun, depend on her reaction.
"I know we were doing three gifts, but I do have one more for you after this." He said with a grin.

"I don't believe you," she said curiously, "you can't possibly have another gift for me. I don't have one back for you," she fretted.

She grasped the hide and stroked it, she felt very predictable and very much like a child in a candy store but to her it was fabulous. That must have been so hard to get, she couldn't express her happiness into words. She decided right there and then that she loved Christmas, this was a good way to get back into the festivities of the real world.

The present she was going to present him, was one she was more nervous about (even if she had been worried about them all) this was one she would have wanted herself, something that could be classed as a pointless and probably what could be classed as "presents I did not want". The only reason she picked this out and scrutinised about the details of it was because her mother used to ask for gifts such as this. Cosy gifts. Max believed that everyone deserved to relax and Zachary should too, this was kind of coordinated with the chocolates with the image of him sitting in front of the fire. Her mind slipped away with herself.
She shook her head and handed him a cardboard box, inside were slippers. Red with wolf print on them they had fur lining, but she was not quite sure. She had a feeling it was polar bear but she was too scared to ask at the time. It also had black silk ties at the back, in case they did not fit.

Zachary smiled when he opened the slippers. He didn't have a fireplace in his apartment, but he got the impression his wishlist might have been a little misleading as to how he spent his money... the way he dressed didn't really help either.
"I've been wanting something to wear around my house, my feet get cold at night. And about that third present I couldn't possibly have...I wonder" He said with a smile. It was nice, the things she had gotten him and he appreciated all of it. After packing the things into his bag and looked at her for a second, almost debating on his next course of action before finally deciding.
"And now for that last present." He said with a mischievous grin before leaning in to kiss her. It had somehow become his new thing. When things with Trini hadn't worked out he opted to start gauging others and seeing how they reacted to him, the simplest answer had been a kiss, but in this case it doubled as a thank you. At least if she didn't dodge or something. He had no idea what her power was but he hoped it wasn't venom lips.
