Tamara nodded, mostly to herself, as she listened to the boy's explanation. To be fair, Tamara was there when this 'technology' hype all began. She was so amazed at humans who could do so much even without magic. She sometimes wonders if there was actually sorcery involved; she would have loved to know.

The parasite weighted her choices of leaving her tablet with the boy. Assuming he wouldn't throw it to a wall, it should be alright, yes? But if it gets broken, she could always tell her Father to repair or replace it, but the man was a busy man and had no time to coddle her. Before Tamara left the tablet in the boy's hands she wrote a long wall of text saying:

"You'll have time to adjust, young man. You are free to try any games I have in here. I mostly have puzzles, I hope that will keep your thoughts occupied until the nurse attending to you returns.

If you worry about me speaking, I have something else that I can use if you wish to chat. And for your knowledge, I am called Tamara. Tamara Nagi is how my name is read in modern English. It's most likely impossible to pronounce if it were read in its original.

In the mean time, I'm sure I can do my filing here where I can clearly see you c:
"

An ominous emoticon.

Oren glanced down at Tamara's device reading what she had to say, he nodded every so often and he wasn't able to find any problems with anything she was saying. "Thanks!" He chirped, and settled himself down on a chair. Puzzle games sounded good to him, they'd keep his mind awake and it'd be good for Tamara as he might actually shut up and give her some peace for a little while. Then again, if she was in the mood for conversation he'd happily continue to chat with her.

"Nice to meet you Tamara!" The faerie chirped, she was probably the friendliest person he'd met yet, which he hadn't expected from his first impression of her. He guessed he'd have to make sure not to judge people on first impressions, as it seemed his could be very wrong. "I'm Oren, " he didn't bother to tell her his last name, he didn't really like it or consider it necessary either. His brow furrowed when he reached the emoticon she had put, he'd never seen anything like that before. "What does this mean?" He asked, pointing at it with his index finger.

Just as soon as Tamara had handed her device to the fae, she went straight to her bags under the counter, rummaging for something that she could use. She was still able to hear him from where she stood as she also went to a drawer and plucked out a stack of folders.

She noted how cheerful the fae was while she made her way back to the bed near him. She noted that the fae went with the name Oren. Settling the folders on the bed, she picked up the whiteboard she had pulled out from her things earlier from the top of the pile. Tamara popped the cap of the marker and was to something until Oren called for her about the emoticon.

She looked at the screen for a moment before scribbling on the A4 sized board. The writing was in a neat, elegant cursive which had a particularly feathered tail at the end of each word. Written was:

"That is what they call an emoticon, or a smiley. It displays facial expression in text form. I use them often because it adds emotion to written messages c:"

She turned the board to face Oren, letting him read for a moment before erasing what she had written and replacing it with:

"I'm also pleased to meet you, Oren!"

'That is what they call an emoticon, or a smiley. It displays facial expression in text form. I use them often because it adds emotion to written messages c:' Was what Tamara had written on her whiteboard. Oren noticed her penmanship was particularly beautiful. He nodded, "I understand...I think. " He didn't quite understand why Tamara couldn't just use her actual face to show emotions, as seen as they were in the same room. He could see how it would be useful in texting however.

Oren smiled at what she wrote next on the whiteboard. He hoped that the nurses wouldn't come back anytime soon, he was enjoying tapping at the screen of the tablet. He was feeling a hungry though, and his stomach let out a loud grumble a couple of minutes later.

Tamara's face only remained stoic and expressionless as she brought the whiteboard back to her lap to erase what she had written. For the past hour, her facial expression never really changed since she began talking with Oren, but she had a firm belief that he wouldn't even notice that because she had been writing her words. It was ironic that she would only smile or make any other expression when she was not 'speaking' with others.

The parasite had laid down her whiteboard aside to attend to the files she was supposed to be organizing as she left the boy to his own devices. Or should that have been 'to her device'?

A few minutes later she heard the faint rumbling noise of the fae's stomach. Tamara made a small chuckling noise, probably the only sound she's made since she stopped humming. Without a word, she set her files aside and got up to the counter. She went to the container of cookies she had been holding to earlier before and brought it right next to the boy.

She picked up her whiteboard and marker again and began to write,

"The top layer has a batch of cookies I had made this morning before I came here. The second layer has club sandwiches. You're free to eat either~"

She picked up a cookie and returned to her files, setting the whiteboard right next to her.

Oren had vaguely noticed that the parasite hadn't changed her expression, but he hadn't paid the fact much attention. He'd been paying more attention to the words on her screen, and her whiteboard than the expressions on her face after all. Oren wasn't minding Tamara going about her business, he was too focused on the puzzle game in front of him. It was only when she came over to where he was sat and laid down a container of cookies beside him that he was brought back to reality.

The boy blushed a little, did it really make that much noise? However he nodded gratefully, "thank you. He fiddled with the container, deciding to take one of each. He wasn't sure which he'd enjoy more. After demolishing the both of them he decided he liked the cookie more, a lot more in fact.

Tamara caught a glimpse of the color that added to Oren's cheeks before she turned away. She figured he didn't expect her to have heard such a faint noise. Aside from her immortal soul, her hypersensitivity was the only thing that stayed with her every time she switched bodies. She got up slightly to get a sandwich from the container before writing:

"I gathered you might be hungry."

Tamara held the whiteboard to face Oren while she chewed through the sandwich she picked out from the container. Giving the fae ample time to read, she then turned the board to face her again and wrote:

"Might it be too intrusive to ask why you decided to attend this academy?"

'I gathered you might be hungry. ' Oren nodded enthusiastically, "yeah, I really was!" He felt a lot better now that he had gotten some food into his system. He really should have had something sooner, the shots had made him feel weak. If they're supposed to help why is it that they only made me feel worse? Some of the things humans did caused him so much confusion.

The boy watched as Tamara ate her sandwich, before she began writing something again. He shook his head when she showed it to him, "it's not intrusive." He smiled at her and continued, "I came here to get away from my family. " He shrugged, that was the whole story put into one very basic sentence but it'd do. There was no point in rambling, when this explanation would suffice. "They didn't appreciate me, and I felt like my powers might be more useful elsewhere. " When he'd ran away, he hadn't known where that place would be until he found the academy and knew it was the right place for him. "How about you?"

Tamara quietly listened to the fae as he told his story, as he continued to eat the sandwich she had taken out of the container from earlier. If she could smile, she would, after hearing his explanation. She was aware she could not find that sort of answer if she had pursued a soul-searching journey. Her time had been up long ago. In truth, she was are she had no place in the world anymore.

And yet here she was.

Oren then turned the question back again. She took a moment to think, putting a finger at her chin to show that she was pondering on her answer. Picking up her board once again, she wrote:

"Father told me about this island. I believe that I would be able to find some solace here. I've seen a lot of things in my life, so I thought that I would need to find a place where I can rest at ease. "

Tamara always had no problem telling people how experienced she was, and how long she had been alive. In fact, she would be very glad to find someone whom she could share her experiences to. But that could be settled for another day.

Writing another message, she turned the board to Oren:

"I do hope you find what you are looking for."

Oren tried to gauge the parasite's reaction to his reason for being here, but her face remained the same and he really had no idea what she thought of it all. She probably doesn't really care that much. If it had affected her, negatively or positively, she'd have said something about it - or rather written it on her board. He noticed that she was thinking something over, because of the finger that was placed against her chin.

The fae tilted his head, "do you think you have found peace here? " He wasn't sure if he'd classify this island as peaceful, it certainly wasn't quiet and he'd heard rumours of a couple of fights going down but she'd most likely been here far longer than he had so he'd trust her answer. "How long have you been in this place? " He wondered how long the island had been around, and what the history of it was.
