It was that one day she dared to leave the site of Starlight Academy. The city of Manta Carlos, it had a similar appeal to it's older relatives. Towering buildings, long isles of road filled with motorised vehicles of all sorts, litters of humanoids and others crawled themselves around from place to place.

Savannah usually avoided the modern city for a number of reasons, the lifestyle in a city very much differs to one who lived in the countryside. In the kitsune's case it was because of the different eras. She clearly remembered a time when great walls were erected to safe guard a town, the people would travel by horse and cart and there wasn't ever a high end store that would serve their customers food on a plate. How times have changed.

She wasn't sure on what she was looking for. Probably something she can relate to, like an inn. It was a little strange to be able freely walk around without worry of scare and panic, somehow she found it less exciting not having to hide herself. There was no mystery anymore, everyone was a little different in very drastic ways here.

After what seemed to be an hour, Savannah had stopped in front of a bar named "The Hard Stag". It was quite the norm for a bar name, she was also thirsty so it worked out in her favour. The doors of the bar were pushed open, she threw glances around the moment she set her foot in. For a second she had imagined what it would have been like many years ago, a period of nostalgia.

Shaking off the thought she glided her way over to the counter hopping onto one of the stools, she waved for the one of the bartenders. The man behind the counter approached the fox girl, he gave her a look over. "You look too young to be here, how old are you?" He asked.

A light laugh came from Savannah, she dismissed him with a hand wave. "Old enough to mother every individual here." Was her reply. She smirked at the bartender whilst a hand dove into one of the side pockets of her dress, out she displayed her student ID. The bartender peered closer to make sure he didn't misread anything and clear enough he read her age, he looked over it a second time.

"My apologies, it's a requirement to ask if anyone looks underage." He informed.

The fox nodded her head. "Then I will have the bartenders choice of wine, do bring the bottle." She requested piercing her eyes at the man a little seductively. He needn't say anymore as he vanished to retrieve the wine, what it may be she'll find out in due time.

On the stool Savannah looked over her shoulder, there were some by what appears to be a pool table. A dart board was also seen close by. Bar games is what they call them, oh if they knew what sort of games were played back in the day. Dancing and singing on a table while drinking was always common. Typically the males would cheer on a female to dance, so they would offer their drinks and sing in her name. Her tails swished around her stool from recalling the memory.

Zachary had heard tale told of the Hard Stag tavern. Besides food and drinks the women that stopped there were often better and classier than the ones at other bars. He wasn't usually looking for classy but as he had discovered classy girls tended to be some of the best when 'one thing turned to another'. A smile crept across his face as he walked in, though he did make it as non menacing as he possibly could. Besides a good bar fight wouldn't be bad here either. There weren't many chances to cut loose since he'd gotten here and he kind of wanted to stretch his legs.

In Japan the bar scene was a little... drab at times. The atmosphere was still one of professionalism and the ones that didn't have that were frequented by delinquents and he spent to much time fighting or avoiding fights to have any of his alcohol. This place seemed... somehow different and he was about to enjoy as many of the cultural delights in one night as he could.

He first walked in and was immediately met with the sight of bar games and a completely different atmosphere than what he was used to. It was his first time in a bar since he arrived and he expected it to be similar to what he was used to, but this was a whole new world of possibilities. Containing his delight he walked up to the bar next to a girl... one that reminded him strangely of a member of his pack, a Kitsune, but shrugged it off and figured there was no way.
"Can I get a long island iced tea?" He asked.
"Can I see your ID?" the bartender replied. Zachary shook his head, the whole notion of the ID system here bothered him but he pulled out his "fake" ID and handed it to the bartender.

The thing about the ID was that even though the information was false, nothing else about it was. It had been made using standardized government equipment and a separate "Zachary Korios" identity was created to match it. Technically there was no department back at his firm that specialized in it but he had requested it as a special project for the tech division and had payed almost five thousand dollars for it, so it was no surprise when the bar tended handed it back to him just before mixing the long island iced tea. Still he had been a little concerned about there being some minor flaw that someone would pick up on but if there was he didn't know about it and, more importantly, neither did the person getting him his drink. All this while sitting next to him, she appeared to be around his age too... which he observed as weird. Nevertheless he resolved to order her a drink.
"Hey barkeep, can you also put an aged chardonnay on my tab for the girl with the tails?" He added as he took his drink from the bartender.

The bar's distractions were enough for her to not notice the lad that had sat next to her. He ordered a drink. It was safe to say she wasn't interested in his choice, there were more and more new things she discovered that did not seem to catch her eye. Maybe it's because the world is changing too quickly, humans have adapted a fast paced lifestyle to accomplish what they can in such little time. That was an admiration in itself but sometimes change is a bit too much. And like her, he too was checked for ID.

She sat and waited, waiting to be served, perhaps she had been too forward and appear arrogant? The fox inwardly sneered at the thought. Though she was most surprised when the lad next to her ordered a drink for her. She glanced at him, whatever the intentions she would not say no to a free beverage.

Savannah turned her body round to face Zachary, popping an arm up onto the bar counter. "Even today there is a male who treats me to a couple of glasses, not too adventurous in choice, but a safe one at that." She spoke with a growing grin. Her eyes scanned over the boy in front, he appeared well built and his hair was intriguing in the slightest. If there's one thing Savannah noticed about society, it's their fashion for hair.

"I guess that makes us well met, Savannah Achard." She introduced nodding at Zachary. Her rested arm became a support for her chin. She rolled her eyes to look up at him. "My next question would be. Why?" She asked curiously.

He was actually rather surprised at the kitsune's response to his offered drink. Usually there was quite a bit more effort that was required for actual conversation, but this had gone extremely well.
at the mention of her name he noticed it was distinctly not Japanese, but Sounga often used alias' so he could assume that perhaps Savannah was as well. It didn't matter anyway, but he decided he should respond in kind without being over contemplative.
"Zachary Korios, and because of all the creatures here I find it interesting to see a kitsune in a bar. I only know one other but she is an excellent conversationalist among other things." He answered honestly. While the Kitsune in his pack had not been a member of the club that represented his sexploits, she had been there to advise him in the ways of taking a lover and keeping them satisfied. While practice had been off limits because she had been saving herself for almost 800 years he figured another Kitsune might not be so bad to talk to.
"Honestly I was hoping to learn more about you and maybe take the conversation elsewhere." He offered, purposefully leaving the meaning behind the last part of his comment vague so as to allow her to draw her own conclusions and follow her lead. Then again he had been warned such a tactic could often backfire and he inwardly crossed his fingers hoping that wouldn't happen.

Zachary was his name. However what was his game? She found herself lured in trough his words, most explicitly at the mention of a kinsman. This certainly held a great deal of interest, Savannah rarely heard of her own kind let a lot meet any of them! It was a surprise to hear of the other kitsune's strengths. The older one was, the more they had to say on just about anything as long as they were proactive. It is easy to idle when your life exceeds the majority of all living things.

"I feel challenged." She commented as if she was bothered by it, all while retaining a smile. It has been such a long time since she had contact with one of we own that he forgotten what they were like. Or in other words, what does it mean to be a kitsune. Savannah left her old life a millennia ago in order to explore the known world at the time. She wondered how different she'd be if she did leave and stayed in her place of origin.

What the boy had said next had caused her to raise a brow, she peered a little closer trying to figure out the intention. She sat herself more upright on her stool, no longer leaning on her arm. One of her eyes flicked. "Where this conversation goes will depend on the doors we open." She began lift up her head to somewhat look down at Zachary. The smile had turned into something of a smirk.

"If you wish to inquire something of me then ask, I will answer honestly but I warn that I may waffle. I am a prideful fox after all." Savannah informed. She then brought her feet up to sit cross-legged, her hands brought together and placed on her lap.

Oh no! It had back fired. He figured he probably should have known better than to use a tactic on a Kitsune that he had learned from another Kitsune. His first instinct was to come clean, but then he decided how to keep the conversation a game of cat and mouse until the line between the two blurred.
"I'd offer the same, but I'm somewhat enigmatic." He said, hoping to entreat her curiosity as Sounga had suggested on many occasions.
"And of course there's always the overarching question one always asks one of your... vintage; what element are you aligned with." The question itself was unromantic to most but he had been taught personalities as well as conviction, inhibition, and thought process could sometimes be determined. Sounga had insisted that it stood true even more for Kitsune than for anyone else, but this one seemed to be of a different ilk. All he could do was hope any of the stuff he had been taught stood true here, and that Savannah wouldn't take offense at his use of the word "vintage" to describe her race... then again using the word caliber to describe her personality was equally troublesome.

He thought for a moment as the eternity between the time he spoke and the time that he waited for a response he began to wonder if his addiction to meeting up with attractive women and progressing the night with them was more because of the chess match involved in the process of getting to know them or the actual results... Then decided it was probably a combination of the two as standalone packages.

She lightly hummed at him. Who says they would be willing to answer questions but then also say try would be difficult to understand? This was one thing Savannah found somewhat bland, she would tell the person regardless and I'd they failed to comprehend her words it would add to her amusement. Even though he said those words, wasn't it an invitation to pry?

Her eyes pierced at Zachary. My he does like to use rather decorated wording, even if forced she did not mind. "No legs have I to dance, no lungs have I to breathe, no life have I to live or die. And yet I do all three, what am I?" She asked as her voice slowly trailed off into a slur. Now she had learnt to answer a question with a question is bad manners, but she felt this was appropriate given the circumstances. It was a riddle in short, one she picked up from a human in her travels.

The fox had edged her body slightly forward, her tails were slowly dangling side to side. This often happened when she spoke of herself, sharing information was part of her nature as an individual.

Zachary smiled, he had learned a love of riddles. He separated each individual line and then connected them in a sort of spiderweb in his head, thinking of similarities and differences and including sub categories for idioms involving each line. It actually only took about a minute before he had the answer, though as always he was not one hundred percent sure of his answer. He kept all of this off of his face as he replied.
"Fire. That is interesting." He stated nonchalantly, as if he had always known the answer and had paused for dramatic effect. In truth he held back the rest of his response because he was unsure. What he had wanted to add was the information he had learned about people with fire affinity.

Besides not being sure of his answer, it would be presumptuous to tie in a ton of information to an elemental affinity. That being said he had his own elemental affinity; a rare one that set him up for difficulty from the moment he figured it out. That being said he was unable to determine how the two interacted because by that point in Sounga's lecture he had already started staring at her chest. Zachary had only been 14 when the lessons started but he was still somewhat distracted by women at the time.
"I have an idea for a game. How about we ask riddles, the first one to guess incorrectly three times owes the other a favor." He offered with a grin, lost in the whimsy that was conversation... conversation enhanced with long island iced tea.

The wait only increased her anticipation, she made many little movements. Her ear flicked, tail flinched, fingers brushed and head swaying. In due time an answer came, her lips formed a grin. He had answered correctly and as if on cue the bottle of chardonnay had arrived along with two fine wine glasses. Savannah waste no time in retrieving the bottle and pouring for herself. She rested the bottle back on the counter and delicately handled her glass on her finger tips. Her free hand wrapping it self round her abdomen.

"A game? She repeated curiously. Her wine glass hovered round her nose, taking in the scent. "Hmm, what would this favour entail?" The fox asked locking her eyes onto his.

He thought carefully about the favor and the tales he had been told of warriors who gambled away their freedom in the pursuit of such endeavors. Like any young warrior he decided not to heed the advice, not because he didn't think it applied to him, but because the thrill was simply too much.
"I'd say anything goes with only one rule." He started, holding up one finger to emphasize his point.
"No asking one another to kill themselves. Life threatening situations and impossible tasks are fine, but no suicidal directives." He offered. Indentured service was part of his culture and the beast courts back home still used such systems so he figured at the very least he would be "living the dream" if he lost.

Truthfully, which favor he might ask was unknown to him, and though he had some ideas, he was well aware of the fact that the nature of the request could easily change at any number of stimuli.
"So what do you say? Possibly gamble your freedom? Any added stipulations you'd like to make?" He added the questions in there to incite curiosity and waited to see if it took hold.

((OOC: I was thinking we could play this by ear and use actual riddles. We can use existing ones off of the internet or you can make up your own as long as it makes sense once the answer is revealed >.>))
