Scott - now in his human form - walked into the library. It was so full of books. This was totally awesome. So much better than his last school.

He pulled a book from the shelf - a random graphics novel - and began to read. "Awesome..." he whispered aloud.

Ember slowly wanded around in the library. It was her frist time there, and she was amazed by how many books there were. She saw a guy reading a graphics novel by himself at a table and she thought it wouldn't hurt to join him.

She plucked a mystery book of one of the shelves which had caught her attention, and she tooka seat directly across from him, and began to read.

Scott looked up at the girl. He smiled. "Hey, I'm Scott. What're you reading?" he whispered.

Ember was just getting into one of the good parts in the mystery book she chose. Detective Mosely had just found out his fourth clue to who killed Mr. Bigby, when the guy talked to her.

He introduced himself as Scott. "Hi, I'm Ember. I'm just reading a mystery book called 'Black means Betrayal'. What ae you reading?"

Scott was so lame, he actually had to look at the book's cover. "Erm...'Red Letter'..." He quickly changed the subject. "So, how do you like teh Academy?"

"'Red Letter'? Sounds interesting, what's it about?" Ember asked.

Scott asked Ember is she liked the Academy. "Yea, it's not bad. I'm sorta new here so...yea. What about you?"

Scott smiled. "I really don't know. I'm reading to find out."

"I'm new here too. But I like this place. It's better than whetre I come from, to say the least."

"Oh, well, don't you read the summary before starting a book? At least that's what I do, you know, to get a glimpse of what I'm reading." Ember asked with curiosity.

"Yeah, I like this place too. What was wrong with your old place? My parents sent me here because they believed that I would fit in more and meet new people.." She said with a shrug.

Scott smiled. "I'm one of a kind." He laughed.

Then his grin faded. "To be honest, I haven't spoken to my parents in more than a year. They were rather disappointed when I began to discover my powers." He sighed. "They had so hoped for a large breed," he whispered absent-mindedly. He looked up at her. "So I'm happy here. I don't have to struggle for existance, or listen to my parents."

"I bet you are," Ember said with a wink and a smile.

Ember frowned while she listened to Scotts's story. "So, you didn't have a good relationship with your parents? What about siblings? I had an okay one with my parents, but horrible one with my sister. I'm happy here too." Ember smiled. "So, what's your power? If you've guessed already, mine's fire."
