Tracey was beginning to panic. She had no idea where she was supposed to go or what she was supposed to do. Her parents told her that all of her things were in her dorm room, but she had no idea just where that was. Before she could ask them, though, they had driven off in the family Mercedes-Benz.

"I should have known that they would leave the second they were able to," she softly muttered to herself.

She shook her head as tears started to flow down her face. Tracey still had trouble understanding why her family wanted nothing to do with her. They seemingly had no trouble with her having these...powers...before that summer incident so she couldn't comprehend why they suddenly hated her. She did nothing wrong. Yes, she did kill a man but even the police said that nothing would be done about it because it was done in self-defense. If it was done in cold blood, she would understand why they no longer wanted to be associated with her but it wasn't.

Looking back, though, Tracey thought it might not have anything to do with her telekinesis at all. She did accidentally set her baby sister's favorite teddy bear - which had been left beside a lit candle - on fire when she got angry at the little girl. They knew it was her because she had told them about her limited pyrokinesis when she had come home from military school that summer. She had hoped that her family would open up to her because she had told them instead of them finding out on their own. However, it only served to scare them away even more.

As Tracey cried, she tried to wipe the tragic memories from her mind. It wouldn't be good for her if she was in tears. When she was finally calmed down, she realized that she was in front of the administration wing. With a sigh, she walked in.

"Hello," Tracey called out, "Could anyone tell me where the female dormitories are?"

The weather was dull but Dee Dee's spirits were high and she felt like causing trouble. The air had a chill to it that meant snow was coming, snow or perhaps a downpour of rain, the girl would have proffered the snow, it was easier letting the weather do it's own work rather than having to do it herself. She paused in her step, and squirmed a little, something small and furry and white popped out the front of her sweater, she scowled and hurriedly pushed his head back underneath the material, "what are you doing?" She hissed, as if the creature could understand her, though she yelped as she felt sharp teeth on her skin, and scalded it, all in a flash it dashed out from her sleeve and skittered away up the hallway. Dammit. He was gone before she had a chance to react, and she thought she was bleeding.

A new sound caught her ears a short while later, one that made them prick up straight. Her head snapped to the side, her emerald green eyes settling on someone she didn't think she'd seen before, it took Dee a moment or two to realize that the girl was crying, her eyebrows furrowed slightly, she wondered why. She abandoned whatever she'd been doing and skipped over to her, perhaps she knew something about the whereabouts of her pet, anyhow. Could anyone tell me where the female dormitories are? Perfect! A chance for Dee Dee to make herself useful, though perhaps the words 'useful' and 'Dee Dee' should not have fully been used in the same sentence together, the fox-girl was far from it.

"Hello!" She chirped, suddenly popping up in front of the stranger, leaning forward a short way and staring at her inquisitively. He head tilted to the left, and her ears drooped to the sides, her silver hair tumbling in wild, messy curls over her shoulders as she did so, trying to work out what could possibly be wrong with the girl to make her appear quite so upset. "Is everything quite alright?" She asked, in more or less exactly the same tone as she had greeted Tracey with.

Tracey's ears had caught the other girl's inquiry. She pursed her lips and replied, "Yes. I suppose everything is alright. It's just..." Tracey paused mid-sentence. She didn't know this girl. There was no reason to trust her with what she believed was one of her darkest secrets. She finished her sentence, "Something just got caught in my eye."

Tracey doubted that the other girl would believe her but she couldn't let anyone in...not yet. She had already been hurt by the people that were supposed to have stuck by her through thick and thin.

She sighed and admitted, "It was just some family issues...no big deal."

Dee's ears pricked forward as she spoke, it was better not to pry into other peoples business, she knew better than that. She stared at her for a moment, tail swishing lazily behind her. The girl couldn't help wondering where her pet had run off to, though this often happened and she wasn't all that worried, after all he couldn't really get into much trouble around the campus, though a few students were perhaps at risk of getting bitten. Dee gave a mental shrug, there was nothing she could do about that, anyone that was stupid enough to pick him up deserved to be bitten.

She lifted an eyebrow, "if you're sure you're okay," she shot the other girl a small, reassuring smile. Dee Dee perhaps didn't fully understand the extent of the other girls issues, but everyone went through rough patches with their families, right? Dee Dee was no stranger to that. Maybe she could be of some help after all, she wondered where the girl's dorm was, chances were she was roughly the same age as her, but Dee wasn't too good at judging that. There was a few moments of silence between the two, the fox girl merely stared blankly at Tracey, before perking up and realizing that perhaps she should introduce herself, "oh, my name is Dee Dee, by the way."
