Age: 500
Birthday: About December
Gender: Male
Species: God Being
Career: God of Sorrow
Appearance Description:
Sarro
Sarro and his old lover, Sekrenia, Goddess of the Deformed
Sarro has dark black hair and light blue eyes with pale skin. He is covored from head to toe in scars of varying sizes and shapes. He is almost always seen wearing his armor which he has worn since the days of his old lover. His armor is as battered and scratched as he is, covered in various dents, scratches and cracks. The cloak he wears over it is extremely tattered and ripped in multiple places.
Personality Description: Sarro is a man who has experienced much hardship in his life, the amount of sadness he has experienced over the course of over five centuries have taken their toll on him. He is a man constantly making sure to keep his head above water, as he has to deal with sadness every day. Having had plenty of time to get used to such things, Sarro tries his best to get people out of a sad mood or even prevent them from feeling sad in the first place.
Powers:
Sorrow Incarnate: Being the god of Sorrow, Sarro has the ability to peer into the memories of people and creatures, and see the saddest moments in their lives. The longer amount of time has passed since the event, the longer it takes to find the memory. If it happened within the past year or so, he can instantly find it. For every two years since the event happened, it takes a full post of searching before he can find it. When he does he can speak about all of the event in complete clarity. (This power can only be used with OOC permission.) Target must be in line of sight.
-Teary Eyed: Sarro can induce crying in an individual every three posts, obscuring vision until they clear their eyes. Target must be in line of sight.
-Despair: Every five posts, Sarro can induce a fit of despair that lasts for 3 posts, during this time the target feels as though their situation is hopeless and can greatly inhibit their combat ability depending on their reaction to those feelings. Target must be in line of sight.
Twin Swords of Dismay: Sarro wields twin Katanas that are considered Divine Weapons capable of killing other gods from his pantheon. He can summon them to his hands at any time (like Thor and his hammer) and anyone else who attempts to use them will feel an uncontrollable rush of sadness wash over them.
Species Abilities:
Being a God grants Sarro with increased vigour and strength, he can run up to 25 mph, lift up to 400 lbs and has increased healing capabilities that allow him to recover from most wounds that dont kill him within about a day or two. He suffers no severe blood loss from cuts or dismemberment, and only decapitation or extreme brain damage can kill him.
Being a God, Sarro does not die normally. The only way to truly kill him for good is to use a divine weapon from his pantheon against him. If he is killed by any other weapon, he will simply reincarnate after a couple hundred years if not more.
Being the physical manifestation of Sorrow, Sarro has the unfortunate tendancy to cause sadness in everyone within double his sight range from him that doesn't have a divine spark (this means any godly being including angels and demons are unaffected). The longer he remains the more feelings of sadness develop. Indeed he could advertantly begin to cause severe depression in people if he remains for more than a few hours. For this reason he can never stay around mortals for too long, lest his presence bring despair to all around him.
Biography: Sarro is a god with a very troubled history, one of poetic tragedy fit for a god of sorrow. Sarro was once in love with another god. She was a goddess of the deformed and discarded, beings who were born with hideous or otherwise deformities and whom were banished, or shunned from their respective societies. Sarro took pitty on this goddess called Sekrenia and at first merely helped her in her duties but at some point developed a deeper relationship with her and the two fell in love. However, the Goddess of Love, Minna, had also developed a deep crush for Sarro, and grew jealous of his feelings for Sekrenia. In an attempt to seperate the two, Minna used her powers to make it impossible for others to love or care for Sekrenia and her followers. However this backfired in many ways, as Sarro's own followers began to dislike the deformed and prayed for Sarro to denounce his love for Sekrenia.
Minna's plan backfired again when instead of driving Sarro away from Sekrenia, Sarro grew ever closer to her instead, as he became saddened at the mistreatment of her kind and was quick to stand at her side to help however he could. As her followers suffered more mistreatment than they ever had before, Sekrenia was reduced to tears as her people suffered for no concievable reason. However, her sorrow soon turned to anger at the treatment of her kind! Eventually she began commanding her followers to commit horrible acts against their tormenters and to retaliate. Sekrenia grew more and more rebellious to the council, to the point where the council seriously considered removing her from her duties. But once again, against Minna's original intentions, Sarro not only supported his lover, but outright declared himself enemy to all who dared bring harm to her or her followers. Some gods were sent, either by the council or for more personal reasons, to confront and kill Sekrenia. But they were all turned away by Sarro, who would protect his love, right or wrong.
But as time went on, Sekrenia became ever more vengeful in her acts against her enemies, she commanded her followers to torture and murder those of other gods, desecrating shrines and causing chaos. For a time, Sarro continued to faithfully protect his lover from all comers, his armor becoming scarred with various dents, cracks and scratches, his cloak turning to rags with each battle. He would protect his love no matter what, even if she was wrong. At least, that WAS his mindset, until one fateful day. Sekrenia's rage filled gaze turned to Sarro's own followers, who never took action with or against their god, merely pleading for their god to turn away from Sekrenia and come to his senses. Disgusted at what she percieved as treachery from her lovers followers, she commanded her own followers to torture and slaughter any of Sarro's followers they found who would not support their master and her lover.
Sarro looked on in grief as the terrible revelation hit him of the horrible acts his love was willing to commit on his own people. It was then that he finally admitted the terrible truth, his Sekrenia was not well, she was not the same one he had fallen in love with so many years ago. Soon after, Sarro showed himself before the council, ready to accept the punishment he knew he deserved, but in the end, he would have begged for any other punishment, but the one they gave him. He was ordered, as punishment for his unruly and rebellious behaviour, to strike down the lover he so faithfully supported and protected. With a heavy heart, Sarro approached Sekrenia, casting aside his shield for good. When Sekrenia turned to embrace Sarro, he stabbed her through the heart with his sword, watching the pure shock and despair in her eyes as her one true love murdered her.
In the present day Sarro keeps Sekrenia's world close by as the moon of his own world. He built a memorial site on her moon and buried her there, to this day he visits often. A replacement is being sought by the council to replace the position of God of the Deformed and Discarded, a position Sarro silently hopes remains empty. Minna, meanwhile, does what she can to undo some of the damage caused by her plot, but continues to pursue Sarro's affection, despite him having yet to truly move on and who is, for the most part, unaware of Minna's feelings for him. Wether further plots for his affection will continue to do more harm to him than good is yet to be seen. The Goddess of Love has decided to bring Sarro to Monte Carlos, knowing that their kind can mingle here without having to hide themselves, in hopes of attempting to get closer to him and to get him to let go of Sekrenia.
Additional Information:
-Being a member of the Argelion Pantheon of gods, Sarro has access to a large temple-ship called The Disparity that he uses to travel between worlds via the rainbow highways. While it does have weaponry, he must have the express consent of the council to use it legitimately (basically ship weaponry is plot only, too stronk otherwise).
-He has a creature from his world called a Grief Strider he uses for ground travel. The Grief Strider, whom he simply named Grief, stands at about 2-3 stories tall and is mounted via rope ladder, whereas passengers then may reside within a hollowed out cubby in its shell. It's shell is extremely dense, to the point where it would take an anti-tank weapon. The creature looks slow, but in fact it is quite fast at 50 mph, it can run over any terrain including water (much like some insects. However, it should be noted that this creature is extremely docile and non-predatory, it feeds primarily off of the grief of people but will also eat aquatic fish and reptiles.
