Jae slipped off the waterfront docks and into the pacific ocean, a motion he's done many times before. Fully submerged in the salty water, he shifted from one form to another like flexing a big muscle. He traded legs for a tail and feet for fins, and went off. The teen raced across the shallow waters close to shore, a dark blur of motion beneath the waves. He went so fast yet never seemed to tire, and it was awesome. How far could he go? Just how fast was he? These were questions Jae would love answered, but were not the purpose of his trip. After a mile of swimming, Jae slowed and approached a rugged rocky outcropping that extended out several feet over the water. Jae found his climbing spot and lifted himself up and out of the water. He climbed to the top, where he laid out flat and let his tail hang over the edge.

Mer form was nice, and oddly enough felt natural to him. Though this form and his powers were pushed suddenly onto him, switching between forms was never hard. Jae allowed himself a moment to enjoy his tail and fins, to flex the muscles that made them. It felt nice, but difficult to enjoy for long when the familiar pain of magic swept his insides. Like being burned from the inside out, his magic demanded to be used or it would destroy him. Jae sighed and rested his head upon his forearms.

Call dangerous storms, his magic said. Lure men to their death. Bring pain and suffering for you shall always have to suffer. Jae could only ignore it for so long. If he waited any longer he may just give in and use his powers to their deadly intent. Wouldn't it be nice to pass his misery onto others? Thank goodness his magic was weak, but would that always be the case? The teen didn't wish to linger on that thought for long, and figuratively dived into the task at hand. He opened his mouth and began to sing. Jae sang of loneliness, of feeling cursed and afflicted. Though he never vocalized any words, the magic of his song shaped itself. It sought a listener to serenade sweetly into tragedy. He would be no less lonely if he gave into his magic. It was wrong to acknowledge the dark nature of his magic, but when it lived in his head so much it couldn't be helped.

Leto had been there less than a day, enough to unpack, eat a bit of birthday cake their mother had surprised them with, and then they decided to explore. They could have gone drinking, to a bar or even a club, yet somehow they ended up at the beach. Given the season it was mostly empty, he'd wandered down the sand enjoying the cool breeze, enjoying the isolation.

It was then that he heard it, singing, a beautiful yet haunting song, the voice somehow unlike anything he'd ever heard. He wasn't sure why, but the demon began to wander towards the singing, his feet seeming to move on their, as if by an instinct he didn't know he had.

Soon enough he came upon something he hadn't expected, he came upon what looked like a mermaid. He'd blink a few times, looking up at the aquatic being. "Uh....hi?"

Jae blinked at the stranger that had found his way to him and thought, shi-bal I did it again. Jae purposefully went out of his way to find isolated locations away from people, and they still found him!! There was no hiding he was the source of the singing as even now his song continued to pour out of him. The magic too powerful after being held back for so long. The enchanted song encouraged the stranger closer and into the water.

Stop. Stop! Jae thought with all the force he could muster. This isn't what he wanted! Desperate, the teen dug his nails into the flesh of his arm and that spark of physical pain gave him the opening he needed. The song ceased. Jae took a deep breath of chilly, salty air. Then he turned to the stranger and demanded, "What are you doing here? There's nothing to even see out here!"

Well, except for a singing merman apparently. Jae fruitlessly tried to fan his fins to look intimidating, but the long, silky fins were too heavy out of the water.

Their exchange was brief, but it was enough, enough for him to sense the sin, for it flow into him. Earth, a desire to destroy everything around and beyond, the merman seemed to be a very angry fish indeed, and it was making him angry. Leto buried his hands in his face a moment, taking a big breath and trying to clear his mind.

"I....I was just fucking exploring," he'd look up at the Siren, raising an eyebrow at their attempts at looking intimidating. "The hell are you doing here?....The hell was that song?"

The half demon would squint at him. "Are.....are you ok?" everyone got angry sometimes, but this level wasn't normal, Leto took a step back, his hands shaking a bit.

Exploring out in the middle of the night? Not something Jae could call the other out on as he himself often explored the island, usually at night. The rest. . . shi-bal, Jae winced. His magic still burned inside him, not as strong as before but there all the same. Like a burning hand on his lungs. "That was my magic," He grudgingly admitted, his words soft but short. The song lingered in the back of his throat.

If he hadn't waited so long to use his magic this whole meeting could have been skipped. And here he was, so, Jae took a moment to study the other boy. He looked punk with tattoos and the shaved head, which Jae found he greatly appreciated (in translation, found hot). Those eyes though. . . they unnerved Jae. They were not human eyes, that's for sure. Which again, was kettle and pot.

"I'm fine." Jae said, quickly. The temptation to sing, and force company lingered. He didn't want to use his magic like that, and force someone to bend to his will. Yet it hurt to breathe, and if he didn't use his magic it would only get worse. The teen took another deep breath and forced the urge down.

He'd shake his head, trying to shake off the wrath, the urge to commit violence, but it wasn't fading. "Your magic?" he'd ask, looking back at him, "it.....it was in your singing?" he knew a good amount about magic, but he'd never encountered magic voice before.

The half demon would take big breath in another attempt at calming himself, and then another breath. "It uh.....it sounded nice," he'd say, closing his eyes a moment.

"Why.....why are you angry?" he'd finally ask, his eyes opening, fighting off the wrath that was leaking into him.

Jae nodded, affirming that his magic was in his singing. Though, the teen was taken aback by the compliment on it. The song pulled Leto here against his will and he called it nice? It didn't make any sense to Jae, or maybe it did. His magic worked to make him desirable and destructive, an ugly thing in a pretty package.

"Angry?" Jae snapped, and pushed himself up onto his elbows. He tried to twist around to properly face the other teen but his tail caught on the rocks. "Shi-bal," Jae cursed under his breath before facing Leto again. "I'm not angry!" Okay, that sounded angry so Jae tried again. "I am. . . annoyed." He said in clipped tones. "I came out here to be alone and use my magic. Away from others."

"Well....you certainly feel angry," in truth it felt beyond angry, it felt like pure destructive desire. The half demon would take another breath as he tried to remain calm, ignoring the wrathful desire the best he can.

Leto would raise his eyebrow. "Well.....sorry for going on a walk and wandering into your music," it was a half apology, it wasn't really his fault.

"Anyways, if you want me to go I'll go," given the emotions he was giving off it might he a good idea for the half demon to leave.

Felt angry? Did this guy have some kind of mood reading powers? Wait, did that mean he could feel the influence of Jae's magic? The primal desire that currently burned him from within? Jae went pale, horrified that he was inflicting that feeling upon someone else. Not only that, but this whole time Jae was rude and aggressive.

"W-wait!" Jae begged, half with guilt, and half implored by his magic. "D-don't." Don't go. Don't leave me. I'm sorry. The words wouldn't come out. "I-I can keep singing. If I do. . . If I do then the anger will go away." This was wrong, very wrong and ugly of him. Yet, the magic burned and maybe Leto will forgive him if he could hear it more and be free of the anger.

"I....," he'd blink in surprise at the aquatic teen. "I don't know if that's a good idea," he wasn't sure what was really going on with the other guy. "Is....is the singing making you angry?"

He'd shift his footing a little. "If it is....then maybe I should go?" constantly being bombarded by destructive wrath sounded like a bad idea.

Leto would look at him, somehow feeling a little bad for the guy, he seemed troubled by it all. "Why...why did you want to be alone?"
